''[[http://www.theduckwebcomics.com/Charby_the_Vampirate/ Charby the Vampirate]]'' is a webcomic that has been hosted on the webcomic site Website/TheDuck since 2004, and [[http://charbythevampirate.webcomic.ws/comics/1 ComicFury]] since 2021, with a few tweaks and new pages added to smooth out the pacing from the 2006 version, that is intended to be ''the'' definitive version of the story, with the original run of the webcomic still available to read on its original site. Though it preceded the other two "Vampirates" by a year, it wasn't terribly notable until the art improved. It started off as a loosely linear, dark comedy, based on horror movie send ups and a [[TakeThat Take That]] of the [[SpinoffBabies Spinoff Babies]] phenomenon but revealed later that it actually has a plot and detailed setting. * DistressedDamsel: Mye has this happen a lot, at least once being abducted three times in one night. She was not pleased. Since she’s got her wand back now this is going to be harder for future individuals to accomplish as her magic was extremely limited without it.

* InsecureLoveInterest: Mye has a number of these, Zeno and Tony stand out.
* InterspeciesRomance: At least three characters so far are of elvish and dragon heritage.

* JourneyToTheCenterOfTheMind: Alps can do this, Tony has used it to help out friends a couple of times.

* BareYourMidriff: If a girl asks Kavonn for an outfit he tends give them this.

* CoolPet: Charby's Mr. Noodle, the werewolf infected vampire dachshund, and the skeetos Sanguine and Malaria. Remote Beast whom Hex and Zeno built out of cats and dogs that seems to like Tony more than the other cabin residents. Hex’s zombie cat Masan. Fay’s overprotective “monkey weasel” Meerse.

* WeaponOfChoice: Charby favors hooks.

* BalefulPolymorph: Kavonn inflicts this on some characters that try to kill him and steal his staff.

* TheHatMakesTheMan: Mannick can pull {{Animal Eared Headband}}s from his stomach portal to communicate with animals and when he borrows another character's hat he stars talking like them, [[spoiler: can read their minds, possibly use their powers, and permanently gains aspects of their personalities]].

* MagicHat: Two, in fact. Kavonn's hat, and Tony's alp "tarnkappe".
** Which double as [[NiceHat Nice Hats]].
*** Don't forget Mannick, he has a hat for every occasion.
*** In particular, wearing the appropriate hat lets him talk to animals. Apparently he can also adopt the personality and speech of whose hat he wears, and there's a hint (still unconfirmed) that it may allow him access to their powers too...
* MagicStaff: Kavonn uses one that people frequently try to steal.

* TownWithADarkSecret: Subverted with the human city of Kellwood which has a magically enhanced WeirdnessCensor and a city-wide {{Glamour}} to prevent the humans from noticing anything off with their monster infested city which rests on the edge of a [[TheLostWoods forest]] that is much, ''much'' BiggerOnTheInside and filled with kingdoms of demons and TheFairFolk. It doesn't work on everyone and seeing something shocking enough can break the glamour for an individual permanently. The city's Animal Control is actually a city funded CreatureHunterOrganization.

* LostTheTVRemote: Hex and Zeno build Remote Beast rather than look for it, Tony has found it before they’re done.
* TheLostWoods: Kellwood Forest is home to all sorts of magical creatures, a large number of whom eat humans. It is also much bigger than it looks on human maps or when flown over in a plane and contains kingdoms of demons, dragons, goblins and TheFairFolk.

* WhamLine: When Hex apologetically informs Mannick, the most innocent and openly friendly cabin resident, that if his "father - friend" Doctor Hayter was one of the cabin scientists Menu ate him, unless Mannick can read that Hayter survived using his psychometry Mannick responds with [[spoiler: "I didn't need to. Mannick killed him in ''another'' Byss laboratory."]]

* AdultFear: Children die at an alarming rate in Kellwood and on the edges of the forest which houses at least one powerful telepathic vampire that prefers human children as prey and a giant floating demon that looks like an oversized blue teddy bear when sitting that has eaten or vaporized at least 8 kids and likes to hang out by the park.
