It would probably work better than many other {{Live Action Adaptation}}s, since the comic is not a nostalgic part of many childhoods (so there'd be few "ruined childhood" comments), and the [[WereStillRelevantDammit modern references]] that tend to ruin these kinds of films wouldn't be a problem, since the strip itself [[UnintentionalPeriodPiece isn't exactly timeless]].

Infernus has a PrecociousCrush on Phoebe, and [[PronounTrouble neigh]] is clearly a similar age to her in unicorn years. I imagine later strips will build up the relationship between the two characters, until Phoebe starts gaining interest in Infernus as well. Also, a couple strips have Marigold [[PartialTransformation turning Phoebe partially into a unicorn]], with one having Phoebe grow a unicorn tail, and another having Phoebe grow a unicorn muzzle. It's almost as if Marigold is practicing the full transformation for later on.
* Marigold is trying to turn Phoebe into a unicorn specifically so they can be friends forever.

Shortly after befriending Phoebe, Marigold used her unicorn magic to create a time loop so that Phoebe would be nine years old forever. She knew that she was immortal and Phoebe wasn't, so she decided to avert TimeDissonance so she could be friends with Phoebe as long as possible.

It's been pointed out many times that Phoebe is quite similar to Calvin, and the strip itself is a SpiritualSuccessor to ''Calvin and Hobbes''. So the idea that Calvin grew up and had a kid of his own who had similar adventures to him is quite heartwarming.
