Although the games never clarify exactly what Zero is, some internal evidence suggests that it is the Satan of the ''VideoGame/{{Kirby}}'' universe. Zero Two has white wings and a halo, indicating that the creature is a fallen angel. Zero's minions, the Dark Matter, possess people and compel them to do evil, as demons do in the Bible. Finally, Zero's motivations for shrouding planets in darkness are its own constant misery and inability to feel positive emotions, the same as Satan in ''ParadiseLost''. (This interpretation may mean that [[spoiler:the true final battle of ''KirbysDreamLand3'', wherein Kirby defeats Zero by overwhelming it with a weapon embodying positivity]], has Christian undertones to it, which is otherwise unusual for the franchise.)

Both debut in Dream Land 3, and despite the strong resemblance to Kirby, Batamon exhibit none of his unique abilities, look slightly different, and never appear after DL3.

The first title game is Kirby of The Stars (Hoshi no Kaabi in Japanese). His stomach is literally a black hole (a galaxy with some stars inside, from Squeak Squad). Black holes adding the sucked masses into themselves just like kirby adding the power of the enemies into himself. In Mass Attack, Kirby's heart is a star. His ride is called warpstar, and he lives on Popstar, a star-shaped planet. He's either an incarnation of a star, or a dead star (black hole), or maybe a [[Webcomic/AxisPowersHetalia personification]] of a star itself.

Notice how Mew's bubble as first seen in ''Anime/PokemonTheFirstMovie'' is pink, hollow, and bouncy. Thanks to some sort of intervention, that bubble of psychic energy became Kirby.

How has Kirby made friends with a non-malevolent piece of Dark Matter between ''Dream Land 2'' and ''Dream Land 3'' despite no evidence of any Dark Matter appearances between those two games? The first Dark Matter survived and (whether due to the Rainbow Sword, Kirby's influence, or any other cause) was transformed into a new entity, less intelligent but more friendly.

They've already done it to [[SuperMarioBros Mario]] and Franchise/{{Pokemon}}. They're probably gonna start complaining about how Kirby encourages kids to eat animals.

If you look very carefully, you notice that Kirby has pink flaps for hands, Meta Knight has arms AND hands! This is especially noticeable in [[VideoGame/SuperSmashBros Super Smash Brothers Brawl]] and Anime/KirbyOfTheStars!

This species, which I will call The Void for shorthand purposes. (Kirby is his / her /its name, not species). Each one of these are different stages in its life time. Kirby is a young child, his powers are unpredictable. While The Void grow up, they start to get comfortable with a form and master it, or become a jack-of-all-trades and keep their improvised ability. Meta Knight represents Teenage / Young Adult who decides to take up the sword form. He is stronger than Kirby's Sword form. As The Void get older, their skills naturally improve. Galactic Knight represents being an older adult. Considerably stronger than Meta Knight.

At the end of the Third Age, Sauron lost his physical form, and the ability to produce one. But, through strange eons, even death may die; and so, millions of years after the War of the Ring, Sauron returns to "life", but as a new creature. This body is now made of Dark Matter, and while his MindControl powers and [[NightOfTheLivingMooks his ability to raise the dead]] are intact, he gains some [[DarkIsEdgy sweet]] [[BodyHorror new]] [[BloodyMurder powers]] on the side.

As they age, they eventually settle down onto a single powerset based on common usage and personality, like daemons in ''Literature/HisDarkMaterials''. Meta-Knight, for example, settled on the Sword power. Presumably, the advantage to settling like that is that you can keep the powers even after being hit very hard and such. Kirby can still copy because he's still a baby.

Meta Knight is pretty OOC in Revenge of Meta Knight, wanting to take over Dreamland. However, previously, in Kirby's Adventure, he was training Kirby to fight Nightmare later on. He even hands Kirby a sword before their battle, something he doesn't do when he's fighting seriously (compare this to Squeak Squad). Kirby just turned out to bew too potent and ended up destroying the entire Halberd, something Meta Knight didn't anticipate. This made him proud and led him to the conclusion that Kirby didn't need any more training, which is why he never fought to train him again afterwards. He then spent the next couple of games (the Dark Matter-trilogy) fixing the Halberd down at the bottom of the Secret Sea. After that, his new mission is to become stronger himself, as seen in Meta-Knightmare Ultra, as well as helping to keep peace in Dreamland.

Just think about it. You've got an illegitimate monarchy ruled by King Dedede. Kirby is a biological weapon running rampant, killing people for their food or ''eating them whole''. Meta-Knight's formed his own cadre of questionably-noble military separatists and has a flying warship capable of subjugating entire provinces by itself. The very trees and animals are sapient and hostile to all other forms of life. There's at least a half-dozen instances where nightmarish monsters and space aliens have invaded. Civilians are forced to defend their homes with whatever they have available: swords, mallets, magic wands, improvised explosives, yo-yos, umbrellas... It's a sugar-frosted ''warzone''. The rest of the planet must think Dream Land is like Mordor.

* This is likely related to his past attempts at fending off {{Eldritch Abomination}}s -- he wants the inhabitants of Dreamland to be in good enough shape that he, Kirby, and Meta-Knight aren't the only defenders. His trying to get ''Kirby'' into shape is much like Meta Knight's MO -- help him be a better Star Warrior.

Kirby is a greater daemon and champion of Slaanesh, decadent and self-indulgent yet protecting Popstar against all outside threats. Meta-Knight is a greater daemon of Khorne, a war-hungry conqueror. Marx is Tzeentch's servant, a power-hungry schemer. Dark Matter, an infectious being who fights by amongst other things bleeding on the enemy, is of course Nurgle's attempt at taking over the system of Popstar.

When Dark Meta Knight was created, Meta Knight's more antagonistic traits were removed from him and manifest into Dark Meta Knight, thus essentially splitting Meta Knight into two characters; the purely heroic villainous Dark Meta Knight.
