** While they aren't completely useless in stealth, the various gadgets are more combat oriented than in the previous game(s)Miles Morales already did a similar nerf, but also included a gadget specifically designed for stealth takedowns so the player can no longer cheese stealth encounters by webbing everyone to a wall from a distance, requiring them use the updated stealth mechanics. That said, some previous gadget effects are still present but integrated into other things, such as the webshooters gaining functionality from impact web (webbing an enemy from close range or after a parry launches them backwards) and web bomb (sometimes webbing an enemy spreads the effect to nearby enemies).

The symbiote can't be given; it's made clear that Harry "giving" the symbiote to Peter was actually it choosing him as a better host, because it's a sentient being. Besides, the anti-venom symbiote is a permanent part of Peter.

* CharacterSelectForcing: While the player can usually switch between Peter and Miles at will, there are times when only one can start main and side content. That said, the main story usually justifies it, and some side content only makes sense with a specific Spidey. Currently, only Miles can be used in Mysterium challenges, leaving Peter without a fighting arena. Likewise, Peter, being the one with the access card that unlocks the holographic research boards, is the only one who can do the ENF experiments, occasionally switching into his civilian guise to perform field work. .

Added DiffLines:

* GeographicFlexibility: While present in Miles Morales, 2 ramps it up to a whole new level by including many buildings and properties inside the city that simply didn't exist before, such as the abandoned school and mansion Hunter Base locations, or the asian food market building where Peter learns who Kraven is. Most egregious is the Queens and Brooklyn areas across the river, which look incredibly different compared to the more vague and conservative appearance in the previous two games. And of course, several landmarks have been replaced or redesigned with no in-universe explaination, like the Empire State and Chrysler buildings.

* AwesomeButImpractical: There's a reason is restricted to "Don't Be Scared" as a playable character. If is played outside of the mission, he can free-roam the entire map, fight criminals, symbiotes, and hunters. However random crimes such as burning tankers and buildings require webs to stop them from exploding/burning up the building, he's too slow for chases (and gets glitched if you happen to catch up and press the triangle button), and Hunter hideouts involve entering rooms. He can't do basic movements such as wall-crawling or web-slinging, since he can't use webs, and his health will always be at 100 with a single focus bar.
