* AndThenJohnWasAZombie: If you die too many times or give up, your character's corpse becomes one of the monsters in the Tower of Barbs. You can hunt them down with a new character or let someone online finish them off.

* DeathIsCheap: Played with. Should you die in the game, you are greeted by the Insurance Girl, who gives you the option of trying again from where you left off with or without perks. However, should you die three times in a row, then you really do have to start from scratch, underpants and all.

** FinalDeath: This is because your corpse permanently mutates into a freakshow monster for other players to find and hunt down online. Suffice to say, you won't be playing that character any time soon.

An upcoming Creator/{{Suda 51}}[=/=]Grasshopper Manufacture game announced at E3 2014, directed by Hideyuki Shin (''VideoGame/KillerIsDead''). Taking advantage of the online resources available as of their acquisition by publisher [=GungHo=], it will be an action game in which dead players will be turned into enemies in other players' games. It was originally announced as ''VideoGame/LilyBergamo'', which had a more anime-like art style. Suda has been quiet on details regarding that version of the game, but apparently the gameplay ideas were the same.

In any case, you are...well, [[CharacterCustomization you.]] And not only do you find yourself in your undies, you also realize that you're trapped in a post-apocalyptic tower fighting for your life against horrific mutants, some immensely bigger than you. To make matters even stranger than they already are, you are guided on your quest by the {{Grim Reaper}} himself, who looks up to you and calls you "senpai". What's more, you are helped by the Insurance Girl, who can give you perks and the chance to get back into the game should you meet an untimely demise.

However, you are being watched by [[TheOmniscientCouncilOfVagueness three mysterious people]], who are observing you for...reasons. Suffice it to say, something screwy's going on here, and if anyone is gonna make any sense of this bizarre situation, it might as well be you, right?

The game plays similar to VideoGame/DarkSouls, with the classic Suda 51 touch. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsfL31BFeOE Here's its first trailer]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZ2Z8mJjCfE its cinematic trailer.]]

* ApocalypseHow: A Class 1 example. The game apparently takes place AfterTheEnd and has you stuck in a tower of junk (in your underpants no less, but you can rectify that matter quickly) going to war against viciously-looking, [[BodyHorror body horrific]] mutant creatures.

* ShoutOut: According to interviews, among several influences for the game were ''Manga/ViolenceJack'' and ''Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar''.
