* ScheduleSlip: Six issues were released between Fall 2013 and Fall 2014. As of 2023 (and counting), only two further issues have come out, with long delays in between each. Archie Comics president Mike Pellerito, in an [[http://comicbook.com/2015/08/18/everythings-archie-mike-pellerito-reveals-who-will-follow-fiona-/ August 2015 ComicBook.com interview]], could only state, "When these books are ready, they're ready and we'll go." It doesn't help that Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is working on at least three different shows.

* FollowTheLeader: The success of the series prompted Creator/ArchieComics to take bolder and more artistic risks with it's tried-and-true properties, resulting in the development of Series/{{Riverdale}} and companion comic Comicbook/ChillingAdventuresOfSabrina (which has its own television adaptation in the works). Not bad for a comic book that (as of this writing in May 2018) only has ''[[ScheduleSlip ten issues]]'' out in stores.
** As of June 2021...still just 10 issues.

** As Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is now working on at least three different shows, fans have pretty much resigned themselves to the fact that the series is unofficially over.
* SleeperHit: Many readers and comic reviewers were very skeptical of this series before it came out due to the sheer bizarreness and absurdity of the premise. The series has met with critical acclaim and high sales, with reports of selling out [[http://www.firstcomicsnews.com/?p=100514 four issues in a row]] and [[http://www.firstcomicsnews.com/?p=125477 even the seventh issue]] (the one where the series returned from its brief hiatus). Its success along with ''Comicbook/ChillingAdventuresOfSabrina'' is responsible for starting the Archie Horror imprint.

* CreatorsFavorite: In his response to fan letters, Sacasa stated that Cheryl is his favorite character so she would live... [[AnyoneCanDie for now]].
* ExecutiveMeddling: Apparently the last two pages of #6 had to be rewritten after the editor found the story to be ''too'' dark. Considering that the issue we actually got ends with [[spoiler:Sabrina about to become the Bride of Cthulhu]] while the series at large has shown graphic violence and even incest before, one wonders what was left out.
