** Red and Captain met for the first time.

* Ilk meets Zim for the first time after her father sends her to Irk before a space battle, but she changes coordinates and goes to Earth instead, where she meets and befriends Zim, GIR and Minimoose, also meeting Dib for the first time.

* The Sobrekt leader declares war on the Irken Empire.

** Two kryvtor assassins are sent to the ''Massive'' to kill the Tallest and kidnap Ilk, but fail and one is captured alive while the other is killed. *** Red interrogates the prisoner, but is taunted instead, with the kryvtor telling him he'd make a mistake sooner or later before Red orders him killed.

* Next morning, both parties are still tense and distrustful with each other. While Blue, Echo and ''Fury'' go hunting, another Irken ship crash-lands, carrying none other than Zim, GIR and Dib; having received the emergency beacon by mistake, Zim went to 'save' his Tallest while Dib snuck into his ship. The Irkens are horrified, especially when they learn Zim failed to inform the Armada of the emergency beacon, which means they are on their own. To their shock, however, the Sobrekt are ''happy'' to see zim and hold him on a pedestal.
** The reason of this is that, being a race of warriors, Sobrekt hold worthy adversaries in high regard. In Zim's case, he has nearly brought down the Irken Empire singlehandedly a few times already, a feat the Sobrekt consider admirable.
*** In fact, the nickname they call Zim, ''Hitorken'', literally means 'One-Irken Army'.
* As Red goes to vent off, with Lena following soon after, they encounter a man named Iraa, who calls himself a Hothian. Later on, he returns with a small armed group of Hothians to capture the group and the ''Ibris''. The group is split up in two ships (which for some reason seems to work): Red, Lena, Ilk, Zim, Blue, Captain, ''Fury'' and GIR are put in one ship, while the rest are loaded unto another. Fortunately, GIR and ''Fury'' escape and knock out their captors, but then destroy the ship's console, forcing the group to evacuate the ship by jumping off into a cliff before it crashes down.

* Four Earth years pass, which in Irken time-measuring is the equivalent to nearly half a month. During this time, Ilk grows older to be about Zim's height.

* The Irken-Sobrekt war continues. Two kryvtor assassins are sent to the ''Massive'' to kill the Tallest and kidnap Ilk, but fail and one is captured alive while the other is killed. Red interrogates the prisoner, but is taunted instead, with the kryvtor telling him he'd make a mistake sooner or later before Red orders him killed.
* Red becomes increasingly overprotective with Ilk, giving her less and less freedom to just go about, keeping her in the dark about both the Sobrekt War and the indokuro attack. However, this crumbles the trust foundation with his daughter.

* A medical drone named Lena arrives at the ''Massive'', where she has been assigned to work as the new Head of the Medical Department. During a small tour with Tenn, she first Ilk and Tallest Red after the latter storms out of the Control Brain chambers.
** The reason Ilk stormed out is that she was informed that, on Red's insistence, she'll be eventually train as an Invader, much to her chagrin. She tries pleads to her father to change his mind, but Red informs her there's nothing to do, as the Control Brains have the final word.
** Red feels somewhat curious about Lena, particularly because of her height.
* Red is forced to suspend his weekly getaway with Ilk when the Sobrekt seize Foodcourtia, but lies to Ilk about the reason. This finally drives Ilk over the edge as she steals a ship and flies away from the Armada, not realizing Lena snuck on board.
* Before Lena and Ilk can return to the Massive, their ship is attacked by a Sobrekt vessel that has been trailing the Irken Armada, and both are captured by its crew, consisting of Captain and four kryvtors: Blue, Echo, Masouri and Foxtrot. As Ilk's being escorted to her cell by Blue, she has her first encounter with ''Fury'', Blue's indokuro, triggering memories of the attack.
* On the way to Sobr, the ''Ibris'' suddenly goes off course and shuts down over a planet in uncharted territory. The crew separates in the escape pods, with Ilk and Lena being forced to get into a escape pod with Blue and ''Fury''. Reuniting with the rest of the crew in land, they realize that technology doesn't work, they're incommunicated, and the ''Ibris'' is beyond repair without new parts. Just then, an Irken vessel carrying the Tallest, Invaders Larb, Tenn, Stink and Skoodge, and Bob, crash-lands nearby, having tracked Ilk down before the signal was lost.
** Although briefly captured by the Sobrekt, they discover the Irken ship has a still functional engine that would fit in the ''Ibris''. Reluctantly, both species make a temporal truce in order to escape the planet. Lena and Red bond a bit.

* Ilk finally turns one Irken year old and departs for the Academy, and starts dating Blue in her free time. Blue eventually proposes.
* Red and Lena date, and eventually get married.

* A female smeet is sent to the ''Massive'' to be look after by Tallest Red because he's her biological father, and since her mother died birthing her, she has no other family other than him. While initially reluctant, Red soon becomes attached to his daughter, naming her Ilk.
* Red and Purple earn a very dangerous enemy in the Sobrekt, the crocodilian inhabitants of Sobr, by stealing their Moondrop Flower, the last of its kind, in order to save Ilk's life after she contracts Drilo's Disease.

** Unfortunately, because she forgot to inform Irk about the change of plans, Red thought she had been captured by rebels en-route and started a witch hunt throughout the universe trying to rescue her.
* In retaliation for Red and Purple's theft of the Moondrop Flower, Captain sends an indokuro (a creature heavily based on the ''Indoraptor'') into the ''Massive'' to retrieve the flower, but it targets Ilk. She's saved by the Invaders, but as it seems the threat has been averted, the indokuro snatches Ilk from Red's arms, causing her to lose a leg in the ensuing scuffle. Much to everyone's shock, however, it regrows a few hours later. Red decides to keep the incident, and the following Sobrekt War, from Ilk to protect her.
** It's revealed that the Moondrop flower used in the cure for Drilo's Disease assimilated self-regeneration, a previously Sobrekt-exclusive ability, into Ilk's DNA.
* ''Shuryo'', the Sobrekt leader, orders Captain to capture Ilk and bring her to him after learning she has the flower's genome in her DNA.

* On the way to Sobr, the ''Ibris'' suddenly goes off course and shuts down over a planet in uncharted territory. The crew separates in the escape pods, with Ilk and Lena being forced to get into a escape pod with Blue and ''Fury''.
