* When you really look deep into some dialogue as the game goes on, [[spoiler:and all the character deaths]], it becomes apparent that in the Reborn Region, many Pokemon are treated as nothing more than tools, which goes against everything in most other Pokemon stories. [[spoiler:And ''you'' can get in on it too during a sidequest for acquiring a Type:Null, which also involves ''sacrificing a few of your Pokemon'' in order to achieve that]].

* The storming of the New World Asylum. Lin (and likely the player, honestly) are both excited, ready for one big UltimateShowdownOfUltimateDestiny with the BigBad - and you're the only one who shows up. And all this means is that you get an up close and personal look at Lin's inner thoughts and past. Lin herself just - loses motivation, really. And on the Anna route, it's really no better - you get to see all of Anna's regrets, including how Shade lost his body.

* The end of the Palkia and Dialga quest has Luna and Taka triumphantly burning the sanctum down, symbolically and literally turning the past to ash so they can break free and make their own future. It's a great ending... unless you then go talk to Elias in the Nightclub. If you do, you confirm that the sanctum was burned and the door is blocked, and the poor guy realises that a whole lifetime of memories and possessions just got burned and there's no chance of recovering anything. He's ''devastated.''

* In the Darkrai quest, you come across [[spoiler:Umbral Corey.]] Since the Anomalies make people act the opposite of how they normally act, he's kind, friendly and doesn't blame you for anything... [[spoiler:and once you beat him and dispel the aura, he's back to his angry, bitter, depressed self. He immediately declares that he ''does'' blame you for everything, and says that he's going to make it so that no matter how much you achieve, you can't say that you saved everyone, and jumps off the Beryl Bridge again.]] Admittedly, given that this ''is'' the Darkrai quest, it's a bit ambiguous as to whether it was just part of the nightmare or not, but even if it was, it still hurts.

* If [[spoiler:having to fight your brainwashed friends]] wasn't enough, you afterwards get treated to a very... odd place. While exploring it, you catch glimpses of different characters' backstories or a slightly closer look into their minds, like Kiki [[spoiler:yelling that it's not ''fair'' that she's supposed to be calm when her body is killing itself]], Aya [[spoiler:first begging her dad to stay, then later on blaming herself for Cain leaving, too]], one scene looks like Cain's father was beating him (although it's hard to tell with sprites; the father's sprite is simply using the walk animation towards Cain, but without moving, as there is no space between their sprites). Oh, and occasionally, you meet Cain; the first two times he [[spoiler:says you should stick together now, then walks off into the Void where you can't follow]]. The third time, he tells you that [[spoiler:although he ran away from home, he feels like he's only been running in circles, and away from any sort of commitment because he always feels like he doesn't quite belong]]. Unlike the other times, he [[spoiler:doesn't suggest you stick together, as it doesn't work out anyway, and that he has to think for a bit]]. That's the last time you see him in Episode 18.

* In the post-game, the Celebi quest has you and either Elias or Taka going back in time to help Celebi. Along the way, you meet Taube, Taka's grandfather, Elena, Heather's mother and Ame. It's incredibly bittersweet; on the one hand, it's really nice to finally meet Taube and Elena after hearing so much about them, and seeing Ame again, but on the other hand, all three are incredibly optimistic about the future and how good they think it must be. The contrast between what they think will happen and what actually happened is very painful. What makes it worse is Elias wondering if he could have stopped everything from going downhill if he'd tried to push back against Sirius and actually made friends with Corey and Elena.

** The Revised script introduced in episode 19 makes this even worse, [[spoiler: by removing Corey’s attempt to kill the player if he’s exposed with his fight instead being him testing you to see if you can protect Heather, making his death hit much harder as he’s given much more sympathetic and likeable traits.]]

More complaining, and Gardevoir isn’t the only exception to this supposed rule.

* When you really look deep into everybody's dialog as the game drags on, [[spoiler:and all the character deaths]], it's becomes apparent that in the Reborn Region, with the exception of Gossip Gardevoir, Pokemon are treated as nothing more than tools, ''which goes against the very spirit of what the canon Pokemon game storylines try to tell''. [[spoiler:And ''you'' can get in on it too during a sidequest for acquiring a Type:Null, which also involves ''sacrificing a few of your Pokemon'' in order to achieve that]].

This is just complaining, and adds nothing to the example since the PULSE:Hypno explanation is plausible.
