* Some players tend to have their characters go through so much that you just want to cry for them sometimes!
* Getting close to someone in the game tends to end badly, as that character often gets separated or murdered, or you are the one that hits the bucket.
* More of an OOC tear jerker, but if these games were first based on Higurashi, then one could see it as that the characters are locked in a GroundhogDayLoop . Just think about that a second.
** Even worse, every loop, with the exception of certain characteristics a server may all agree are always part of one character, they ALWAYS have a personality change every loop. Which can be horrifing if you think of the number of rounds some servers will go through with all the same players.
* Some good roleplayers will emote their character's death if they have been sufficiently wounded. This is particularly poignant at the end of a round, especially if said person had just stopped the murderer and things were looking on the positive.

* [[{{Tropers/Arutoa}} This troper]] once had an RP where his character (Makoto, purple-haired) had a BodyguardCrush with Sanz (the blonde-haired girl), who was going through an emotional breakdown from the murder, and was in love with Rei ([[NeonGenesisEvangelion fittingly]], the blue-haired girl). Rei was also in love with her, although we only found out later. Sanz was terrified by the corpses, so she had a hard time, since [[JerkAss Soujiro]] (the boy with Goggles) had already been killed in self-defense. Rei, Sanz, and Makoto ran to the nurse's office. Outside of it they found [[BadAss Kazuo]] (black-haired), "Anne" (real name: Kayoko, green-haired), and [[PsychopathicManchild Kaede]] (purple-haired). Kaede hit his head, and had amnesia. Since he had the mind of a child, Goggles' actions made him think that killing people was for their own good. Makoto had Rei and Sanz run into the nurse's office, and joined them, locking the door. While Kazuo and Kayoko (who was at this time feigning goodness) took out Kaede, Sanz and Rei confessed their love for each other. This prompted Makoto to attempt suicide so that he wouldn't subconsciously try to interfere with their romance. Kazuo talked him out of it, and since by this point Kayoko's true colors were beginning to show, Makoto and the two lovers came up with a plan; Makoto would distract Kayoko, and the two would leave the building. Eventually, Kayoko killed Kazuo and set her sights on Makoto. He ran as fast as he could to the entrance to be sure that they both escaped, and when they did, he died in peace. The entire thing was generally depressing.
** He also did a two-round RP with two friends. [[{{Tsundere}} Rac]][[TheOjou hel]], [[CannotSpitItOut Kitami]], and [[HeartbrokenBadass Himuro]]. They came to the realization that things were [[MediumAwareness an endless cycle known as "Mitadake High"]], and that'd it'd just continue forever. The first round was more lighthearted, establishing that [[LoveTriangle Rachel loved Kitami, Kitami loved Rachel but wasn't able to say it, and that Himuro loved Rachel (sealing this love with a kiss on the cheek)]]. The [[WhamEpisode second round]], though... Himuro told the others about the cycle in an attempt to free everybody. Kitami was running away from them, unable to face his love for Rachel. Realizing that his plan was failing, Himuro broke down in his despair... and was stopped mid-fall by Rachel, who [[YouAreNotAlone assured him that he wouldn't spend eternity alone]]. After catching up with Kitami, they realized that just about everybody else had died, and had a heartfelt reunion as Kitami finally confessed to Rachel. Knowing that the two would have a better eternity together without him in the way, Himuro left to become a being outside of time and [[WalkingTheEarth walk the world forever]]. \\

* This troper ([[OnlySaneMan Green]] ) had a very bad start to a round. He had a crush([[MoeMoe Orange]]), who kept running away from him. At one point, Green and [[CrazyPrepared Purple]] had bareicaded the office, but [[AntiHero goggles]] showed up with his friend black and believed Green was the killer. Purple took out an Alondite and started attacking through our barricade at goggles, who was stabbing me. Purple killed them, but Green was severely hurt, and said "Tell....orange....i..l-love her". Right then, Orange was just outside the office. Green died from bloodloss and she ran up to him, crying. Next thing she knew, purple dropped dead (He was DNed). She asked "[[BreakTheCutie Why....why is everyone dying?]]" and still held Green's body close as the round ended.
* This is the story of goggles, the 7 year old. He was asking what words like tampon and pregnancy meant and the blue haired girl told him a pregnancy was in the freezer and trapped him in. He was saved, but became trapped again (in another room) much later by the [[BigBad Green]] ,[[EliteMook Purple]] and [[JerkAss Brown]] girls.Both genders of reds were murdered, [[TheHero Gray]] and red girl had stood up for him, red was killed by purple while defending him, which caused him to attempt to attack green, but the billhook was too heavy but then they killed gray, which enraged him, he charged at her with his hammer...but green [[KillTheCutie killed him]]...at which point purple relized what they did was wrong and killed herself...all in all, this round was very sad.
* The same story as above but from a different perspective.....Shiki (Green Boy) hated when people looked at him, so the dark was his best friend. He always tried to be a hero despite his shyness. Throughout the craziness he met Nanako (Blonde) and Rikku (Blue Girl), and hid with them in the downstair's nurses office. When Black, one of the last remaining psychos came a knockin', he shoved a security card into Nanako's hands, ran off to distract Black, and died in the process. His sacrifice gave Nanako enough time to escape, leaving Black as the only one left alive in the school.
* One from Pyrce. During the new Doppleganger Mode, I was playing as the Purple-Haired Boy (C.K., his initials since his name was long and he wanted to save time.) Throughout the game, Sayo (Orange Girl) would follow him everywhere he went, pulling at his hair and annoying him to no end. He even tazed her just to get her to leave him alone. Eventually, she did. By the end, he started apologizing for his behavior, being distant since he wasn't used to someone liking him and afraid she would be killed (something I couldn't get out was that C.K. has had a history of loved ones dying) By the last minute, Sayo suddenly commited suicicde, with C.K. shaking her body and [[PleaseWakeUp asking her to wake up.]]
* Before starting a Tsukihime-round in Pyrce, I noticed that one of the female hairstyles made the sprite look like a gender-bent version of a character I like. I just couldn't skip the opportunity to play as a ShoutOut to him, so I gave my character his last name, added the first name Kyou to stay somewhat original, and decided to play as a pacifist. Naturally, it was a bad sign that she spawned as a vampire.\\
She survived by always asking the Nanaya around her if she could feed on them before she became too hungry. This made her bond with the three Nanaya of the round, and once the other two vampires were dead, the survivors went to the Nursery.\\
After a moment when Kyou's thirst made her attack the Nanaya, one of them offered Kyou what was left of her blood so that she could redeem herself for all the vampires she had killed by actually saving one.\\
Kyou was so thirsty that she actually took the offer, but by the time she was satisfied, the Nanaya was dead and Kyou was back to her full senses. Seeing the dead body in front of her, she started muttering to herself about how it wasn't worth it to keep herself alive if there was a risk of somebody dying every time she got thirsty. Despite the other two Nanaya's pleas, the round's story ended with Kyou declaring suicide by stabbing herself in the stomach. (The suicide was at midnight, but the round ended by vote before long afterward.)
