* "Blue's First Holiday" reveals that Blue came from a dog farm, but she was the only magical puppy there, and therefore she was the only one who didn't act like an ordinary puppy and therefore felt lonely. The reason she stayed in the yellow house was because young Steve was the first who treated her as an equal, so she never wanted to return to her book.

* When the episode "What Is Blue Afraid Of?" begins, Blue is seen shaking under a blanket and whimpering in fear. Not only is she afraid of something, but she's even too scared to skidoo into the picture by herself.
* In "Blue's Sad Day", well, [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin as the title implies]], Blue is sad. Just before the Mailtime Segment, she even comes up behind Steve, whimpering sadly.
* Sidetable Drawer's subplot in ''Blue's Big Musical Movie''. After spending most of the show in the background except to give Steve his notebook, we find out that she actually wants to join in with the other characters, especially in their big music show, but is too shy to ask. This is made even worse for her as every attempt she makes to ask Steve to be part of the show, her shyness gives in and ends up accepting menial jobs Steve gives her, like collecting tickets. Her song "Sidetable's Lament" is equally as sad.
** From the same movie, Steve briefly has a HeroicBSOD when he realizes that he's never actually found a clue on his own without the viewers' help. He even sings a short song to the tune of "Sidetable's Lament" about it (the soundtrack has a different, longer song for the scene that wasn't used in the movie) before his friends encourage him to go on.
** For Sidetable, as mentioned above, when she sings her song, "Sidetable's Lament", she sings that she is not just a drawer, and can do more than just be a drawer and even sings that that fact is ignored. Ouch! Poor Sidetable...

** For the 25th anniversary of ''Blue's Clues'', [[https://twitter.com/nickjr/status/1435332689532440579 Nick Jr.'s Twitter released a video of Steve Burns reprising his role of Steve talking to adult fans about what happened to him after he left for college]]. This whole thing is just a treat for the adults who watched ''Blue's Clues'' as a kid and were saddened by Steve's departure from the show. The video has Steve go over his time at college, both the great stuff and the hardships. And just like in the show, he addresses the audience directly as if we're part of the conversation. Thus, when Steve sincerely thanks the audience for supporting him throughout the years and says he'll never forget you, it definitely pulls at the heartstrings. Fans returned their love in ''droves'' as the tweet got '''over 2 million likes'''.
--->'''Steve:''' And I wanted to tell you that I really couldn’t have done all of that without your help. And in fact, all the help that you helped me with when we were younger is still helping me today. Right now. And that’s super cool. I guess I just wanted to say that after all these years, I never forgot you... ever. And I’m super glad we’re still friends. Thanks for listening. ''(Steve signs "Thank you".)''

** What makes it worse is when you look closely while she is crying. Mr. Salt looks on in sympathy and tries to expand his arms for a hug, but Paprika continues to cry and ignores him.
*** Mr. Salt looks on very hurt as Paprika continues to cry.

* Steve and Joe's return in ''Blue's Clues and You!'', particularly when Steve asks Josh to talk to "his friend" (referring to the adult audience) and asking them to help Josh out with playing Blue's Clues. It isn't uncommon to find commenters mentioning how they cried when Steve said that.

* Steve leaving for college at the end of "Steve Goes to College." It's pretty easy to say that long-time viewers of the show cried their eyes out when they saw it, and it is considered to be one of the saddest moments in anyone's childhood.

-->'''Steve:''' ... I'm gonna miss you. [Steve hugs Blue and turns to the viewers] I'm gonna miss you, too. I'll never forget how you helped me find all those clues. You really are so smart! Which reminds me... will you take good care of my brother, Joe, while I'm at college? ...Great, cause sometimes he needs a little help, kind of like me.
