!!Tropes found in the game include:
* CoopMultiplayer: You lose pretty fast if you don't coordinate your actions with others.
* EveryoneHasASpecialMove: Each of the characters has unique abilities. (Likewise, each of the monsters has a unique ability.)
* ExtraTurn:
** If one (or more) of your dice is a 6, then you can take two actions, as long as one of them is the 6 action.
** If all 3 of your dice roll the same number, then you can take two actions, and you can choose any of your available actions for both of them.
** One of the Hunter's abilities is to increase the Breach level of the current monster, giving the players an extra turn to defeat it.
* GameplayRandomization: The "Fortune at the Beginning" version, as players roll 3 dice each turn to see what actions they can perform. Also, the 5 monsters are chosen randomly from dozens of monster cards.
* MookChivalry: Five monsters attack the guards, one at a time, starting with the weakest and ending with the strongest.
* NonLethalKO: When characters receive damage equal to or greater than their health, they are incapacitated and automatically choose the action to heal themselves until their damage drops below their health.
* LuckManipulationMechanic: Once one of your action cards has been upgraded to level 4 (the highest level), you can spend an experience point to reroll one die each turn.
* RaceAgainstTheClock: When the monster's Breach level reaches zero, the monster breaches your defenses and escapes. With the first four monsters, you do not gain experience points for defeating the monster. With the fifth monster, you lose.
* SlidingScaleOfCooperationVsCompetition: The game is an example of "Enforced Cooperation", as there are no competitive elements and the players are required to coordinate their moves.
