* [[FoeYay Schezo and Arle]] have subtext to spare, namely stemming from Schezo's unintentional innuendos around her, and the fact that they went from enemies to [[FireForgedFriends respectful rivals.]]

** In the light novel ''Amitie and the Girl of Love!?'', Klug gives a vague definition of love as "it's a feeling you get when you really like being with a person". Amitie says she likes being with Sig, catching his attention as he realizes she may be in love with him. Amitie herself then internally comments Sig has "beautiful eyes" (adding onto innerly describing his hair as pretty earlier), and seconds later Sig himself begins to wonder out loud if he's really in love with Amitie as well. He's still mulling over this by the end of the chapter, prompting the following flustered internal response:

** In the light novel ''Amitie and the Mysterious Egg'', upon realizing that Sig is better with animals than her, Amitie quickly suggests that he should become the "father" of the baby bird Tama, which has just adopted Amitie as its "mother". Arle and Ringo quickly cut Amitie off, telling her to consider what she's implying (she fails to understand the implications), while Sig states he actually wouldn't mind being Tama's parent alongside Amitie - [[FriendToBugs If Tama were a bug.]]
** In chapter 3 of the light novel ''Amitie and the Girl of Love'', the idea of Amitie and Sig "sharing love" with each other gets brought up as a result of Amitie discussing Ally's catchphrase. Even [[ThreesomeSubtext Klug gets dragged in]], but since he's the only one aware of the implications, he quickly tries to remove himself from the situation in protest. Sig continues to mumble about "sharing love with Amitie" up to the end of the chapter, which in turn makes Amitie flustered again and makes her blush.
** Another light novel, ''Sig's Secret'', explains how Amitie's and Sig's friendship developed from their initial, loose connection as "kids who just happen to be in the same class", to the close relationship they seem to have in later games. In the process, there is plenty of ship teasing to be had, what with Amitie describing how she is slowly learning to love Sig's subtle smiles, and describing his blue right eye as "beautiful" after he regains it late in the novel.

** In the light novel ''Everyone's Dreams, Coming True!?'', when the A-Trio are about to set out to gather the Dream Mist, Schezo goes off on his own, and gets called an uncooperative loner by Arle. He refutes that by saying he ''loves [her]'', before Arle points out his verbal blunder.
