* ButtMonkey: Jack is even unluckier than usual in this episode. He’s finally run out of robot minions due to the monks destroying them all in battle and he spends most of the episode as Tubbimura’s whipping boy, also being forced to give Tubbimura his helibot. When he turns into a fly and goes to the Xiaolin Temple to steal the Monks’ lava lamp for Tubbimura, he gets electrocuted by their bug zapper. And during the showdown, he loses when he turns into a fly and gets eaten by a passing crow. He escaped the crow’s stomach by turning back into a human, but then gets squished when Tubbimura falls on him. He catches a break in the end when he gets his helibot back from Tubbimura, though.

Added DiffLines:

* FallenOnHardTimesJob: In exchange for Tubbimura’s help, Jack is forced to become his dog-walker and clean his house for him twice a month.

* ThrowTheDogABone: After spending the episode suffering pain and indignities, and losing his helibot to Tubbimura, Jack catches a break in the end when he gets his helibot back.

* NotHelpingYourCase: Dojo tries to convince Jermaine and Omi to make up, but he wanders into a tangeant about how ''he himself'' had a falling out with a friend (over a yo-yo). And it doesn't help that Dojo never reconciled with his friend. Jermaine concludes it by bitterly claiming "[[HardTruthAesop Some friendships aren't worth saving]]". Dojo agrees, before he remembers he was previously talking about Omi and Jermaine.

* FromBadToWorse: A villainous example; Jack has fallen so far since Wuya left him for Chase that not only does he no longer have functioning Jackbots (only cheap cutouts), but also has to barter his personal belongings just to enter into a rather one-sided "partnership" with Tubbimura, who wastes no time in forcing Jack to do ''his'' bidding in order for Jack to enlist his services.

Jermaine arrives at the temple, having attained the level of Wudai Warrior. When Omi learns that Jermaine trained under the evil Chase Young, he must defeat his friend in a Showdown to save him.

to:

* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: There are three things that Dojo has learned to never talk about: religion, politics, and Omi’s head.

* {{Foreshadowing}}: While Dojo's story about losing a friendship over a yo-yo may seem like nothing but a humorous BigLippedAlligatorMoment here, it would ultimately come to pass next season as the friend in question would make a physical appearance.

to:

* CollectiveDeathGlare: The Warriors’ reaction to Dojo being disappointed that the battle over the Golden Finger between Omi and Jermaine ended in a tie.
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: When Master Fung is trying to teach the Warriors about humility, Omi brags about how humble he is as his head (literally) grows bigger and bigger.
* FightingYourFriend: Master Fung has Omi and Jermaine battle each other in the hopes that it will bring them closer. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work and they end up fighting for real over the Golden Finger later.

* GladiatorGames: The [[OnceAnEpisode Xiaolin Showdown]] of the episode is a gladiator fight, complete with an arena filled with lions, that turns into a ChariotRace.

* TheMole: Jermaine, though an unknowing one at that. It turns out the master he was learning from has been Chase Young all along, although Jermaine didn’t know he’s evil.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: The Warriors are close to retrieving the Manchurian Musca when Omi’s jealousy overcomes him and he bungles the entire mission.

* OnceAnEpisode: Omi, Jermaine, Jack, and Tubbimura all touch the Golden Finger at the same time. The wagered Shen Gong Wu are Ruby or Ramses (Omi), Manchurian Musca (Jack), Shroud of Shadows (Tubbimura), and Chase gives Jermaine the Lasso Boa-Boa in battle of the gladiators. Jack uses the Manchurian Musca to turn into a fly only to get eaten by a bird. Tubbimura uses the Shroud of Shadows to turn his chariot invisible, but parts of the wheels aren't covered allowing Omi to uses the Ruby or Ramses to remove the shroud making Tubbimura visible and eliminate him. Jermaine then calls out Omi for his unhappiness of his success. Omi confides he was jealous and lays down his weapons.
