Bykov's daughter, Alisa, decides to pay her father a visit. Or, rather, she wants to stay with him in Moscow... and become a doctor, like her father. But Bykov does not want such fate for her (it involves perpetual stress and poverty, and leaves you without any trace of personal life), so he tries to persuade he out of it. Emphasis on "tries", because every singe attempt backfires. When he tries to lock her in the morgue to snap her out of the idea to become a pathologist, she instead decides to try another specialisation. When he tries to give her an excursion to demonstrate her how boring it would be, she meets Kupitman and gets drunk.

Lobanov's new patient is a fortuneteller... who is sick of Lyuba constantly bothering her; she comes here to heal, not to work! Lobanov thinks that she is just a charlatan (and tells this to her face). To get rid of Lyuba, the fortuneteller lies to her that her "fate" is to become Semyon's wife... but this backfires, because Lyuba starts bothering her even more often. This forces the fortuneteller to cooperate with Lobanov to scare her off.

Varya tries to obtain the concert tickets, but they are out of stock. Gleb gifts her with one... but now Varya thinks that this is his scheme to "win" her back, and he already has another for himself. So, she gifts this ticket to one patient... only to find out that there's ''no'' a second ticket. Now she must somehow take that one back. And for this she needs Gleb's help.

* FollowInMyFootsteps: {{Inverted|Trope}}. Bykov wants Alisa to become ''anyone, but'' a doctor; because Russian doctors are living in perpetual stress and poverty, and without any trace of personal life. When those arguments didn't work, he tried to mention that she would quickly grow tired of her patients' stupidity... to which she replied that she decided to be a pathologist. Instead of arguing further, Bykov just locks her in the morgue... and then accidentally forgets about her for some time. When he remembers several hours later, Alisa says that she decided that she isn't gonna become a pathologist... instead, she would try another specialisation.
