A Date With Rosie Palms is no longer a trope

* ADateWithRosiePalms: Discussed when Travis said that as a teenager, tiring himself out made him less horny because of "idle hands and all that".

* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: The idea that female Orions have pheromones that control males and make other females feel ill is never used again. In the next arc of this very season of Enterprise Orion women will be shown serving on the MirrorUniverse Enterprise, and in the 2009 Star Trek film, Uhura has a female Orion roommate who obviously doesn't give her a headache and while she sleeps with Kirk, doesn't appear to exert any unusual influence over him. And if BigBad Osyraa in Season 3 of Star Trek Discovery could do that, she surely would have been shown using it to her advantage. Lower Decks Justifies this however by saying not all Orion women emitted or utilized such pheromones, nor were all Orion women even capable of doing so. As seen with Tendi being offended that Mariner would suggest she use her pheromone pointing out she's not even that type of Orion.

As seen with so (with Tendi being offended getting annoyed at the stereotype that Mariner would suggest she use her pheromone pointing out she's not even that type of Orion.all Orion females have this ability).

* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: The idea that female Orions have pheromones that control males and make other females feel ill is never used again. Tendi in Lower Decks doesn't present any such problem for her crewmates, in the next arc of this very season of Enterprise Orion women will be shown serving on the MirrorUniverse Enterprise, and in the 2009 Star Trek film, Uhura has a female Orion roommate who obviously doesn't give her a headache and while she sleeps with Kirk, doesn't appear to exert any unusual influence over him. Furthermore, when male Orions are shown working with or for female Orions on Discovery, there's no indication that the males are enslaved. This could be justified by the fact that mirror-universe counterparts aren't always exactly identical, and the other examples all took place far further in the future, possibly after a way to block the effects of the pheromones was developed.

* SexuallyTransmittedSuperpowers: The episode reveals that Vulcans are immune to Orions, who usually make everyone fall in love with them at first sight unless there's an IncompatibleOrientation, and if a human has slept with a Vulcan, they gain this immunity.
