Overlong plot summary replaced with concise version, as per mod decision.

''Limbic Resonance'' is the first episode of ''Sense8'''s first season.

In the opening scene, a woman lies in the ruins of a church, clearly heavily medicated and in a lot of pain. A man named Jonas suddenly appears at her side, encouraging her to "birth" a new cluster and give them a fighting chance. The woman suddenly gains visions of the cluster about to be formed, and appears in a vision to each of the eight members. Jonas then tells her that "he"'s here, and that she needs to fight the older man who seems to appear by her side. He tells her he's excited to meet Jonas, that he knows she doesn't love Jonas, and that he doesn't believe her threat of suicide, as she's made it several times. The man himself then enters the room, and defiantly, the woman shoots herself in the mouth.

Cue opening. We now get to meet the cluster of eight that was "born" from the woman.

'''Will''' is a cop from Chicago, who's dreaming of a girl who went missing when he was a child. In his dream, she directs him to the church, and he is jolted awake by the woman killing herself. While going about his daily routine, he hears nightclub music...but there's no source of it. He talks about his dream to his partner, Diego, before they go off to nab a bunch of gang members...instead they find a kid named Deshawn dying of a gunshot wound. Diego is reluctant to call for an ambulance and the charge nurse at the hospital is reluctant to take him in, but Will gets his way and the boy is treated. Will seemingly hallucinates Riley afterwards before finding himself at the church where the mysterious woman killed herself. He finds drugs and a gun before seeing Riley again in the same church, and briefly finds himself in her apartment in the midst of a shootout.

That same nightclub music Will was hearing earlier turns out to be coming from '''Riley''', a DJ in London. After her set, she's complimented by her friends and a guy who introduces himself as Nyx. She's invited up to his apartment, but passes because of her migraine. While excusing herself, she briefly finds herself in San Francisco, in front of a woman she doesn't know (Nomi's girlfriend, Amanita). At home later, she's disrupted by clicking noises that sound like a safe being opened, and police car sirens...but neither of those events are happening anywhere near her.

When she goes to Nyx's apartment, he notices that she's passing on the drugs her friends are taking. The camera focuses on the scars on her wrists before she takes Nyx's drug and hallucinates...Diego? before remembering a scene from her childhood in an Icelandic cave. Her hallucinations bring her to the Chicago church where the suicide took place, and she briefly meets Will before being drawn out of it by her friends -- they have Nyx at gunpoint and have gotten him to open the safe where he keeps his drug money. Then a shootout happens leaving everyone dead or seriously injured except Riley. This is the last chronological event of the episode.

'''Lito''' is an actor from Mexico City in the midst of shooting a scene. He forgets his line and the director mentions he's shared the same vision as the others. He takes a break and tries to psych himself up in his dressing room to no avail -- the migraine and his apparent sexual frustration don't help. His costar checks in on him and offers to, um, help him out with the latter, but he brushes her off, telling her he's taken.

'''Sun''' is a businesswoman from Seoul, who's currently dealing with someone her younger brother is supposed to meet. Later, after freaking out and seeing a chicken on her desk, her eyes are drawn to a particular file.

'''Kala''' is a pharmacist from Mumbai, who hears rain where there isn't. Her father worries about her going to work so near her wedding, but she reassures him it's fine. Later, she goes to pray to the Hindu god Ganesh and confides in him about her insecurities regarding her wedding, where she talks about how her parents were delighted when a handsome, successful, intelligent man proposed to her -- except she doesn't really love him.

The rain Kala was hearing turned out to be from a funeral Berliner '''Wolfgang''' is attending, later revealed to be his grandfather's. Wolfgang's also dealing with the same killer migraine, and shrugs off a taunt from his cousin that he and his friend Felix are petty compared to him. Wolfgang meets with his aunt and uncle and excuses himself to go piss on his father's grave. Later, he and Felix break into a house and Wolfgang begins to crack a safe containing impossibly expensive diamonds from Mumbai. He hears police sirens too, chalks it up to the migraine, and takes a break to watch a singing contest. During this, he remembers his father mocking him for having stage fright. He powers through and cracks the safe just in time, and he and Felix make a break for it, diamonds in hand.

In Nairobi, '''Capheus''' cares for his mother, who's dying of AIDS, before he leaves for his job as a bus driver. Capheus idolizes Jean-Claude Van Damme to the point of naming his bus after him. Unfortunately, the bus fails to attract that many customers, especially compared to rival Batvan, but his friend Jela assures him it'll be fine before going off to deal with a passenger paying with a chicken...which then appears on Sun's desk.

'''Nomi''', a San Franciscan hacker, is introduced having sex with her girlfriend. Later, they go out and accept free pot brownies and reminisce their first pride week together. At a pride performance art event later, she shares the others' vision of the woman.
