[[folder:'''Long First Term Final Exams Summary''']]
During another walk to school, Iruma is unable to say anything while his two best friends, Azz and Clara, argue amongst each other. Clara excitedly points out that there's a cat nearby, but Azz warns her not to touch a dirty stray cat. Azz then informs Iruma that there's a new cafeteria menu today, but Clara replies that she will have a drippy lunch, much to Azz's anger not wanting to hear Clara's opinion. As the two of them keep fighting over food, Iruma finally interrupts asking the two what's wrong. Sure enough, Azz and Clara remain latched on to Iruma as they walk to school.
\\\
Arriving at their new Royal One classroom, Lied and company notice the oddity of Azz and Clara remaining latched to Iruma. Iruma explains that it's due to Clara fearing that Iruma will return to his Wicked Phase, which Jazz points out that she's acting like a kid who just saw a nightmare. They next ask about Azz's attachment, which Azz explains that he's prepared to play his role as Iruma's aide to restrain his master at the first sign of change. However, Jazz remains unconvinced given that the current Iruma is perfectly normal, which Lied figures that Azz must just be doing this to not feel lonely. Lied then pokes fun at Iruma that the latter is quite popular, which Iruma agrees with. As more Abnormal students appear, Sabro tries to convince Clara to climb up on him like she would usually do while Elizabetta offers them snacks. Lied then tries to talk to Azz, but quickly decides against it upon seeing Azz stare at him.
\\\
In the end, Jazz points out to Azz and Clara that forever clinging to Iruma will be a bother to the latter, which they finally let go. However, doing so dampens their spirits. To everyone's surprise, Iruma becomes sad not being latched onto anymore, which they all decide to join in latching themselves to Iruma. Shortly after, Kalego enters the classroom disgusted at the sight of everyone clinging to Iruma. The teacher provides the class handouts, and explains that while there will be fewer classes after today, they all shouldn't be getting excited just because they have more free time. Lied notes Kalego's bad attitude, which Jazz figures that this is Kalego having given up and just doing what he wants now. Kalego then reminds everyone that they should be ready for the final day, much to everyone's excitement. However, Iruma remains confused as to what's going on. Azz explains to him that a long vacation is coming up where there won't be any classes at school, and that students have the option to either go see their families, or focus on their Battler Party activities.
\\\
As the Abnormal students all celebrate that vacation is just around the corner, they all suddenly become silent, and begin fearing for the worst, when Kalego reminds them that they will be tested on all their lectures. Lied complains about being tested on all lectures, which Kalego states is indeed the case, and that they should look to their schedules for what they will be tested on, such as flying and magic. He also warns the class that those who fail will have to take supplementary lessons, much to everyone's shock. Kalego then gives off a rare smile having fun torturing his Abnormal students, and advises them to get scores worthy of the Royal One classroom they're now in. As the Abnormal students all begin freaking out, Azz calls them all fools for their lack of preparedness. However, the sight of Iruma stunned in shock begins to freak him out as well.
\\\
Shortly after, Iruma is seen with Clara and Azz having returned to the room for their Magic Tools Research Battler division. Azz is surprised to hear that Iruma is bad at studying, which Iruma explains that it's just something he doesn't know how to do. Azz tries to cheer him up claiming that Iruma will do well while Clara adds in that there's nothing to worry about since tests are easy peasy. When Iruma shows the grades on the tests he's done so far however, Azz is unable to say anything at the fact that the highest Iruma has ever scored is a 6. Iruma cries and apologizes for his bad grades, but Azz quickly apologizes in return believing he made Iruma sad. Clara then asks if Iruma is struggling due to not being able to read, which Iruma makes it clear that he can. Though he doesn't tell that he can read thanks to Sullivan's magic translating the demonic letters for him. However, that still doesn't change the fact that even though Iruma can understand the words, he doesn't have the knowledge of the demon world to answer the questions, such as knowing what the strength and radius is of a forbidden curse spell in battle.
\\\
Seeing Iruma struggling, Clara smugly asks if she should be the one to teach him. Iruma is unable to believe such words as Clara shows off her test scores so far. Though she didn't score anything higher than a 21, she still pokes fun at Iruma knowing that she has better scores than him. Iruma is unable to say anything as Clara continues to taunt over him. He then notices that Azz is looking over Iruma's test scores, which Iruma figures that even the former would be shocked by this. Meanwhile from Azz's viewpoint, he thinks to himself that Iruma is indeed a strange person having proven himself to be someone that possesses the strength to overcome any hardship, yet based on his test scores is apparently completely ignorant to how the world works. He also thinks over how Iruma's kindness is rare amongst demons, yet it's the reason his compassion fills the hearts of others. This causes Azz to think about the exact moment when he witnessed Wicked Phase Iruma sitting on the Demon King's throne. That it was this moment that Azz was seeing the future where he's bowing before Demon King Iruma.
\\\
Azz breaks into tears thinking about the moment, much to Iruma's confusion. He assures Iruma that the latter will ace the tests and that they should use the Magic Tools Research room as a place to study after class. Azz announces that if there's something Iruma doesn't understand, he will do his utmost to explain it. He also informs Iruma that doing well on the test will be an opportunity to increase rank, which would increase Iruma up to Rank 4 (Daleth). The sight of Azz's excitement surprises Iruma that the former is not disappointed by the latter's bad grades. Clara then gets excited claiming that they can all beat the tests together, which motivates Iruma to go along with it. All of them raising their hands up, Iruma announces that the three of them will team up aiming to get a perfect score. However, they're suddenly greeted by an unexpected visitor, Schnare Eligos; the student that drugged Ameri.
\\\
Entering the Magic Tools Research room with a bag of suppiles, Schnare announces that he's here, and that he will be in Iruma and company's care from here on out. Iruma phones Ameri asking what's going on, which she apologizes for dropping this so suddenly. However, she explains that this was something that was already decided since Schnare was proving himself to be too much for the student council to handle, but was still too dangerous to be left alone. In a flashback, Johnny can be seen yelling at Schnare to stop taking photos of the president. As a result, Ameri explains that it was decided to place Schnare in a trustworthy Battler division that can keep an eye on him, and that it had to be a division that had no 2nd-year students. Iruma quickly realizes that it was decided to put said student in their division, which Ameri explains that despite Schnare being a weirdo, he shows promise as someone who was smart enough to make a personality-altering artifact. In the end, she tells Iruma that she's entrusting Schnare to him.
\\\
Meanwhile, Schnare is seen setting himself up, and placing all his waifu toys, within the Magic Tools Research room, much to everyone's confusion. As Schnare is about to say that he's looking forward to working with everyone, Azz and Clara begin stomping on him out of anger yelling at him to leave, and for interrupting their bonding moment. In return, Schnare cries out why they're treating their senior this way. In the end, the Magic Tools Reserach division now has an official 4th member. As thing settle down, Azz then gives Iruma a heads-up that it's possible to lose a demon rank if one scores to low on the test, much to Iruma's fear.
\\\
At home, Iruma recaps his journey so far. At the age of 14, he was sold off to a demon by his deadbeat parents, stood up against various predicaments, has managed to keep himself alive up to this point, but is now facing his biggest ever obstacle. Laying on the floor exhausted amongst a bunch of books and papers, said obstacle for Iruma turns out to be studying. Shortly after, Iruma is seen eating at the dining table with Sullivan, who notices Iruma's exhaustion, and that the boy must be studying really hard. He advises Iruma to not push himself too hard, which the exhausted Iruma agrees with. Iruma thinks to himself that he was unable to understand a single thing about the demon world textbook he was just trying to read.
\\\
Sullivan remains worried for his grandson, and asks Iruma if the latter wants to know what's on the test. He also offers to provide Iruma with only easy questions, which disappoints Opera. The butler steps in claiming that there's no need to go that far since Iruma's always been a serious person. He figures that Iruma will surely pass the test with flying colors, which confuses Iruma, but also brightens Sullivan back up. Sullivan and Opera leave the room due to the former wanting to prepare for celebrating Iruma passing his test, but Iruma remains unconvinced having not received any actual help from his grandfather and butler.
\\\
Returning to his room, Iruma is now talking with Ali. The ring spirit thanks Iruma for all that the boy has done for him so far, but that he will be disappearing soon, much to Iruma's confusion. Iruma questions what Ali means by that, which the spirit answers that since Ali was only able to take form due to Iruma rising up to his current demon rank, he's going to disappear now due to Iruma being an idiot. He yells that Iruma will get all red marks on his test, and result in a ranking drop that will cause Ali to disappear. The embarrassed Iruma asks for Ali to stop, but Ali makes it clear that he's worried, and asks how Iruma plans to get good test marks. Iruma is unable to say anything not knowing how many points it will take to avoid red marks, but also admits to himself that Ali is right that there's no telling what will happen to the ring spirit should his ranking drop. Overall, Iruma becomes motivated to avoid red marks at all cost, and is prepared to try studying again.
\\\
During another school day, the Abnormal students, such as Jazz, Lied, Goemon and Kamui, are all seen struggling to study within the Royal One classroom. This comes as a surprise to Iruma and Azz, which they yell out that they've decided to work hard so that they can kick back and have fun during vacation, and not have to endure supplementary hell. Watching them try to study, Azz notes that they actually have something stored in their brains that motivates them, which Iruma thinks to himself that he's relieved to see the Abnormal students trying. Azz then suggests that he and Iruma pick out a table spot so that they can study amongst themselves, which Clara follows along. Iruma and Clara sit across from Azz with many textbooks on the table. Azz explains that the test will have five subjects, and asks which of said subjects Iruma excels in. However, Iruma's unable to properly answer. In return, Azz states that they should hit the textbooks to see what Iruma is unable to grasp, which excites Iruma and Clara ready to begin studying. As they go through questions however, it becomes clear just how bad Iruma is at this.
\\\
First question for Demonic History asks what family belongs to the 13th crown following the 8th generation. Azz answers properly with Beelzebuth while Clara and Iruma answer wrong with "Bero-bero-ba" and "doesn't know." Second question for Astrology asks how long a blue star will go for if a red moon was three days ago. Azz answers properly that it will be 9 days while Clara and Iruma answer wrong with "I am green" and "doesn't know." Third question for Torture asks to name the General of Terror Andras' favorite torture device as seen in the picture. Azz answers properly that it's a Tongue-biting Spear while Clara and Iruma answer wrong with "Scissor-man" and "Scary". The fact Iruma answered scary leaves Azz confused. Fourth question for Pharmaceutics asks how much time it takes for a demon-eating gondola moray to dissolve a 45kg demon. Like usual, Azz answers properly that it takes 5 minutes while Iruma answers that he "doesn't know." However, it comes as a surprise to both of them when they see that Clara correctly knew the answer and wrote "five." The final question for Fundamentals of Magic asks to name the law that states that oral and silent spellcasting is impossible. Both Azz and Clara properly answer it to be Ouroboros' law, but it surprises both of them when they see Iruma raising up a white flag in surrender.
\\\
In the end when it comes to what they know about the demon world, it's made clear that Azz knows everything, Clara has some knowledge, but Iruma knows nothing. Azz is shocked by the results while Clara celebrates, but Iruma is left depressed. The two of them try to cheer up Iruma that everything will be okay, and that they will take things slow. Iruma remains unconvinced that he's not capable of studying, but his focus is suddenly brought to a textbook question asking how many limbs a human has. Iruma answers 4, and sure enough, it was the correct answer. He continues the questions, such as answering that the favorite food of a cat is fish, and that a dog is not a plant, but an animal. Azz notices Iruma's focus answering the particular set of questions. Overall, Iruma is shocked to find that he actually managed to score a 100, much to everyone, even the other Abnormal students', surprise.
\\\
Lied looks over the textbook Iruma scored a 100 in, and confirms that this was indeed the case. Clara calls Iruma cool for pulling it off, which Iruma replies that it just seemed quite easy. Azz is also excited pointing out that the textbook Iruma scored a 100 in was "Imaginary Biology of the History of the Demonic Realm," and is surprised to find that this is what Iruma is talented in. This comes as a surprise to Iruma, but the Abnormal students continue to praise him that scoring a 100 is amazing, and that this proves that Iruma is smart after all. As a result, Iruma blushes, and thanks them for the praise. However, scoring a 100 on a subject he's unfamiliar with is said to have opened a new side of him. It turns out that he's enjoying the pleasure of scoring high points, and being praised as a genius, so much that it's made him so excited to the point of becoming an idiot. The excited Azz then points out that their upcoming class will be a lesson on Demonic History, which he suggests for Iruma to use this chance to master the subject he scored a 100 in. In the end, Iruma agrees to go along with it much to everyone's excitement.
\\\
Iruma, Azz, and Clara arrive at the classroom of teacher Dali Dantalion, who Azz explains is the one in charge of teaching Demonic History. An image of Dali, who is usually portrayed as being someone who loves to have fun, pops up in their heads. Iruma admits that he's interested, but before he has the chance to think about what to ask him, a scared student comes out of the classroom and runs off, much to Iruma and company's confusion. The three of them enter the classroom spotting several other students making their way towards the exit. Azz questions them what's going on, which one of the students answers that Dali is on break due to his evil-cycle, which has resulted in teacher Balam substituting for the class. Iruma notes the Balam name having seen it somewhere, and upon checking the textbook Iruma scored a 100 on, he confirms that Balam was the writer of said textbook.
\\\
Azz suggests that they should stop for today knowing that teacher Balam is a special case, but Iruma replies it's okay since he wants to see Balam after coming all this way. However, Iruma is suddenly picked up off the floor. It turns out that he's been grabbed by a large mouth-masked demon that has also captured many other students who are now hanging from the ceiling. Said demon claims that he's happy to hear Iruma's words, and that he will be sure to give a boy a warm welcome.
\\\
Shortly after, Balam is seen holding Iruma, Azz and Clara as a group against his chest, much to Iruma and Azz's confusion, but Clara's excitement. Balam then announces that he will now begin todays lecture as the tied up Iruma, Azz and Clara are placed in their seats with the other tied up students. Following along with a textbook, the teacher explains that creatures known as imaginary beings have been written about throughout demonic history, and that the research of imaginary beings is a study of beliefs. Balam continues that the demonic realm is a vastly unexplored place, which could mean that there's still new species out there that could possibly exist. Balam asks the class what imaginary beings eat, which leaves everyone confused as the sudden change of pace.
\\\
Iruma watching on starting to understand why all the students are trying to run away, which Azz explains that teacher Balam has a "skinship" addiction where he needs to touch people. He guesses that it's probably a result of Balam being in charge of the Imaginary Being research, which has led to Balam turning every lesson into a touch-fest. Listening to their conversation, a fellow classmate warns Iruma and Azz of the rumors that the reason Balam touches people is to determine if they're suitable enough to become his experiment's test subjects, and that he will experiment on them to no end if he comes to like said test subject. Before the classmate could continue talking to them, he's interrupted by Balam wanting to discuss the topic of humans to everyone.
\\\
The teacher pulls out a large human doll held up by a rope, and asks the class what they would do should a human appear before them. Some of the students yell out that the answer is to obviously eat them, which Balam replies is indeed the case that because humans are masses of greed, they're a source of norishment for demonfolk. A student asks what Balam would do, but the teacher stays silent. The silence freaks out the students, which leaves some thinking that Balam has experiments on his mind, or that eating was the right answer after all. However, Balam eventually provides a proper answer that he would be interested in learning how that human lived. That along with humans, imaginary beings mostly consist of weak creatures.
\\\
Balam shows off to his students his chalk drawings of the weak imaginary beings on the left, and its more powerful demonic versions on the right. He points out that this is an example of how the living beings of the demon world are higher spec than those amongst the imaginary beings. Balam explains that because the imaginary beings appear to be so primitive, they must of grown up in a peaceful environment. Meanwhile within the demon world, demons have had to evolve, such as gaining tails and wings, to survive within such a dangerous ecosystem. Balam takes a seat next to Iruma while continuing to explain that demons gaining wings allow for better escape. However, his lesson is interrupted when his attention becomes completely focused on Iruma, much to the latter's confusion. Balam grabs hold of Iruma, and announces to the students that the lesson is over, and orders them all to return to their home classrooms.
\\\
Storming into the faculty room, Balam reveals the bad news to the other teachers that he's discovered a student who's got no wings, pointing to Iruma. One teacher figures that Iruma is just storing his wings within his back, but Balam makes it clear that the boy has no wing roots, and that all they need to do is feel is back for proof. Iruma begins to freak out due to the position he's in knowing that as a human, they're obviously not going to find anything on his back. Curious, teacher Robin steps forward wanting to get a look at Iruma's back. He pulls up the back of Iruma's shirt, which Iruma fears for the worst. However, Blushenko notes his confusion that the wings are indeed there, which to Iruma's surprise, there's a pair of visible small wings now on his back. Iruma quickly realizes that Ali's using his magic to make Iruma a fake pair of wings to fool the teachers. As Iruma covers himself back up, Blushenko figures that Balam must have just not noticed the wings due to how tiny Iruma's are.
\\\
Iruma and Balam exit the faculty room being yelled at to return to their lessons. Balam remains confused unable to say anything while Iruma is relieved that he wasn't found out. As they walk back to class, Iruma is left wondering if Balam is truly dangerous or not, and that while he does have some questions to ask, it's better to just leave it alone for now. As Iruma attempts to walk away, Balam suddenly grabs hold of him to keep Iruma from moving. Balam reminds the boy what he explained that the research on imaginary beings is a study of beliefs, and that having touched Iruma's back, Balam has confirmed that either Iruma has a serious illness, or is some sort of peculiar being. The teacher begins to remove his mouth-mask while explaining that it's in his nature to check the things he finds odd, and hopes that Iruma doesn't hold any grudges against him. In return, the frightened Iruma thinks of Sullivan believing this to be his last moments as he's about to be eaten by a demon who discovered his secret. With the mouth-mask gone, Iruma looks upon a demon that has a messed up mouth underneath. However, because of this flaw, Balam points out that this now makes the two of them buddies, which confuses Iruma.
\\\
Balam puts his mouth-mask back on, and explains that his flawed mouth makes his fangs look scary. That he had his jaw peeled off in an accident a long time ago. The teacher continues to explain that he has a love for all living things, but his appearance causes everyone to run from him in fear. As a result, he tries to touch things to befriend them, but did it so much that it eventually became a habit. Iruma asks why the teacher is telling him this, which Balam answers that he felt it was necessary believing that Iruma didn't like people seeing his tiny wings. He figures that this was the best way to apologize, and that it's not fair if Iruma's the only one feeling bad. Overall, Balam's apology leaves a big impression on Iruma believing he now has a better idea of what type of teacher he is, and now doesn't feel scared of him.
\\\
Iruma is brought to Balam's office where the teacher asks the boy to come in, and that he will be making some tea. As Balam makes the tea, Iruma thinks to himself that he feels a lot of kindness coming from said teacher. Balam then hands the tea over to Iruma, but asks the boy to be careful due to it being hot. Beliving that he feels comfortable around Balam, Iruma reveals to said teacher that he's human. The reveal comes as a shock to both Balam and Iruma; Balam because of the reveal, and Iruma because he can't believe that he actually blurted out his secret to a demon he just met.
\\\
The story flashes back to when Balam was a child. Balam is seen reading a picture book calling the Smiling Bears in class, which his fellow demon students note he happens to be reading again. Flashing forward, Balam is now at an outside location reading a book called the Tall Prince, which his classmates find confusing seeing him read a book in such a location. Flashing forward again Balam is seen reading another book called the Tree Headed Chick. This time around, his classmates find it creepy that he's still reading picture books about the human world as they don't believe that such creatures exist. Despite that, Balam now has a variety of books in front of him that he's been reading about the human world.
\\\
Returning to the present is the exact moment that Iruma reveals to Balam that he's a human. The shocked Balam gets up close to Iruma asking the boy if he really did just say that he's human. Iruma tries to deny it, but is quickly interrupted by Balam ordering him not to lie, and that he did in-fact hear Iruma say that he's human. In the end, Iruma admits he did, which causes Balam to fall over in shock much to the boy's surprise. Iruma asks the teacher lying on thefloor if he's okay, but Balam answers that he doesn't think he is. Balam remain confused asking about the wings he saw on Iruma, which Iruma reveals were indeed fake. The teacher then asks about the tail, but Iruma replies that he doesn't have one. Iruma is then confused to see the teacher suddenly hiding behind a wall ordering the boy not to get close to him or else said teacher won't be able to hold himself back.
\\\
Wondering if Balam is planning to eat him, Iruma becomes confused when Balam claims that he won't be able to hold back his excitement. Balam then covers himself in embarrassment blushing at the thought that he's finally met a human creature that he's always fantasized about, and that his initial suspicion was correct that the boy really didn't have any wings. Still worried, Iruma asks if he's going to be eaten now. However, Balam doesn't understand the question given his curiosity of Iruma, and that he doesn't understand why he would eat an endangered species. The latter part confused Iruma hearing that he's considered an endangered species. Balam then mentions that he really wants to touch Iruma, but struggles to do so. It then comes as a surprise to Balam when Iruma does it for him and touches the teacher; resulting in Balam falling over in shock again.

Balam becomes worried torwards Iruma's actions, and orders the boy to be more careful about revealing his identity. The teacher explains that given how Iruma is an endangered creature, it will be big trouble for the boy if the others find out that his wings are fake. Iruma doesn't feel worried, and happily states that he's done enough for no one else to find out so far. However, the worried Balam gets up close to Iruma again warning the boy that not everyone is going to react the same way he did. That there are demons out there who will gladly swallow a human such as Iruma completely whole. Balam then gets angry scolding Iruma that he's a very naive boy much to Iruma's worry. Hours later, Iruma is seen walking away from Balam's office having grown tired of being lectured by said teacher during all that time. However, thinking back to all the lecturing, Iruma once more admits that Balam has proven himself to be a nice person.
\\\
Back within the Royal One classroom, the Abnormal students are all already exhausted from trying to study their butts off for the final exam. Iruma asks what happened, which they reply that they're doomed. That despite trying to cram new information at the last minute, nothing stuck in their head. However, Azz points out that it's just been one day so far, yet they've already fallen apart. Azz asks why they haven't tried a more organized way to study, such as getting someone to teach them. Overall, Jazz gets an idea and asks everyone to group up. He splits the classroom up so that the dumb Abnormal students are on one side while the smart ones are on the other. After the split up, only Azz, Schneider and Sabro are on the side of the smart students while the rest are on the dumb side. Kerori is also implied to be on the smart side, but is away from class due to her idol work.
\\\
Azz announces for everyone to dismiss, much to everyone's shock that he's already abandoned them. However, Azz explains that he's already too busy tutoring Iruma while Sabro and Schneider aren't exactly tutor material, which Jazz admits is a good point. Clara is surprised to find that Sabro is smart, which the latter explains that it's a given that a good Demon King needs to be knowledgeable. Meanwhile, Jazz finds it surprising that Elizabetta is amonst the stupid students, which she asks if that's bad. However, Kamui points out that it just adds to her charm. Meanwhile, Lied cries out that their summer is ruined not liking the situation they're in. Iruma questions if they already had plans regarding summer, which Lied admits they have. He explains that while the demon world is full of fun places, the #1 place to go is Walter Park. That the park has places like the Blood Pool, the Screamfest, or shopping at the Soul-sucking Pavilion, that will bring them loads of fun.
\\\
Lied continues claiming it's got all kinds of events that will wear you out, which Jazz adds that it's even got a Battler training camp. Overall, Azz isn't impressed that all the class seems to be excited for is the thought of playing around, but it comes as a shock to him to see Iruma sparkling in excitement. Azz and Clara are confused by Iruma's reaction, which Iruma cries tears remembering all the work he had to do during summer vacation back in the human world, and thinks about how much fun Walker Park sounds. Noticing Iruma's interest, Lied calls out to him asking if he wants to go to the park with them much to Iruma's surprise. Goemon states that they should all go about having fun together, which pleases Iruma hearing that he will be having a summer vacation with friend. Iruma joins in with all the Abnormal students celebrating their newly established trip to Walter Park, but at this point, Kalego appears to remind them all that there's no point if they can't pass the final exam; turning their happiness into complete despair.
\\\
With a smug look on his face, Kalego warns them that he will be the one examining the scores of their final exam tests, much to the horror of the Abnormal students as they complain that the teacher doesn't care about their youth. Meanwhile, Jazz is annoyed that this pretty much establishes that they won't be able to cheat this time around, which catches Iruma's attention. Jazz explains that Kalego is someone who always manages to catch the cheaters of the tests he goes about guarding. He also adds that he doesn't understand how Kalego pulls it off, which amazes Iruma. Suddenly, their attention is brought to the sight Balam peaking into the classroom, which surprises everyone. Jazz questions if he's here to pick up someone for his experiments given the rumors, which Kamui asks in horror who Balam is aiming for this time. However, Kalego casually walks up to Balam, and gives said teacher a fist-bump greeting saying that Balam Shichirou is looking well and that he's gotten taller. Balam happily returns the greeting; leaving all the Abnormal students confused as to what's happening.
\\\
Iruma calls out to the two teachers pointing out that the two of them seem to know each other. In return, Balam states that this is indeed the case as he and Kalego are actually Babyls alumni, and that they've always been stuck to each other ever since they were classmates. Kalego meanwhile doesn't deny it, but also scolds Balam that he shouldn't appear out of nowhere like he just did. In return, Balam admits that he might of scared everyone just now peaking into the classroom. Watching from afar, Lied and Jazz admit that they were a bit suprised by Balam's sudden appearance. However, they point out that the thing that's truly scaring them is that Kalego, of all people, actually has friends. The result is an angered Kalego pulling on Lied and Jazz's hairs. Meanwhile, Iruma asks Balam why he's here, which the teacher whispers that while he was initially worried that people may have discovered that Iruma's a human, he's caught on that Iruma is currently having trouble with the test. Overall, Balam announces that he's decided to make Iruma a secret weapon.

Switching to a storybook, the setting is set up where long ago at a house in a distanct land, there lived three siblings named Kou (Iruma), Kei (Clara), and Muu (Azz). Kou uses Verbal Magic; a one-star rarity type of magic where he can perform many kinds of magic spells through chanting. Meanwhile, Muu uses Non-Verbal Magic; a three-star rarity type of magic where he can use one form of magic without chanting a spell, but is a gift that can get stronger the more he trains. Finally, Kei usees Bloodline Magic; a five-star rarity type of magic where she uses magic unique only to her, but also has the ability to grow in strength through training. The three siblings use their unique and different magics to help each other, and live happily ever after, which is stated to be the basis of all magic.
\\\
The story switches back to reality where Iruma is seen reading the "Three Magic Siblings" book that Balam provided for him. Iruma yells out that he finally understands, which surprises Balam. Iruma asks if Balam really did make this entire book. In return, Balam explains that he's loved picture books ever since he was little, and that making them became a hobby of his. However, he was never able to show the books he wrote to the other students as they were always scared off under the belief that Balam's books were notes about his rumored experiments. A brief flashback is seen of Balam trying to show his "666 Lil' Cerberus" book to some fellow students only for them to run away. Iruma notes that making the "Three Magic Siblings" book must have taken Balam a lot of work, but the teacher makes it clear to the boy that it's vital to his survival to have knowledge about the demon world. As a result, Balam claims that he will be sure to make picture books to cover all the subjects, and orders Iruma to read those as well. Iruma wonders if this is Balam being excited that someone is finally reading his books, and agrees to do so.
\\\
Returning to the Magic Tools Research room, Iruma is currently having a study session with Azz and Clara. Azz shows off a picture of a plant explaining how it can grow up to 30 meters from a single drop of water, and asks what it is. Iruma like usual doesn't know the answer, but Clara answers it's Niginigi Weed, which Azz states is correct. Of course, Clara celebrates over a struggling Iruma. Azz tries to cheer up Iruma that repetition is the key to memorization, which Iruma asks if there's a better way. Clara points out that singing it usually helps as she turns the fact about Niginigi Weed into a bit of a jingle. Azz actually agrees that there are songs that exist to help with understanding the demon world's stars or its torture methods, which the latter part catches Iruma's attention in a bad way. Clara also adds in that dancing helps. Sure enough, Iruma goes along with Clara trying to sing and dance while studying; leaving Azz in disbelief at what he's witnessing.
\\\
Shortly after, Iruma starts to seek out his fellow Abnormal classmates to help him study. He first goes to Jazz, who's reading a "Robbery for Kids" book. Having heard that Jazz is actually good at math, Iruma shows off his notes asking if his answers are right. Jazz goes along with it helping Iruma with his notes, which makes Iruma happy. Iruma leaves calling Jazz smart much to the latter's confusion being praised. Iruma next seeks out Lied, who's currently playing a video-game, "Devil War II," with Goemon. Joining in, the sight of a demon game character freaks Iruma out, which Lied laughs that General Andras (the game character) is indeed scary. Goemon adds in that Commander Zepar and Sergeant Furfur were also impressive in the game, which Lied explains that "Devil War II" is a great game based on the events of an actual war. The reveal excites Iruma having come to realize that demon history is really cool, much to Lied and Goemon's confusion.
\\\
Afterwords, Iruma is seen having returned to Balam's office to read another picture book," The Lonely Torturer," said teacher crafted for him. Upon finishing, Iruma is left crying that a story about torture could make him shed emotional tears. Balam asks how the studying is going, which Iruma answers that while he's still making a lot of mistakes, he feels that he might be improving. The improving part catches Balam's attention. Iruma explains that he feels as if he's steadily bettering himself, and that it's not a bad feeling. However, he becomes confused upon seeing Balam happily writing down notes, which the teacher explains that Iruma is interesting to observe. Said book being called "Obersation Records Secret." As time goes on, Balam continues to provide Iruma with books, such as "The Lonely Torturer II." In addition, the new member of the Magic Tools Research division, Schnare, is seen trying to craft an Intellect Elixir, much to Iruma and Azz's worry, and Ameri is seen having set up a Study Bootcamp. She's seen holding her phone most likely hoping that Iruma will call her about it.
\\\
Within the library, Iruma's studying sessions with Azz and Clara continues. Azz calls time on the practice test that Iruma and Clara were currently working on, which the three of them are excited to see that Iruma is showing improvement by scoring as high as a 55. Iruma is proud to see that he's now getting more right than wrong, which excites Azz since the failure mark is 40, and that they should now aim for 100. Acting like a professor, Clara acts proud that her student, Iruma, is growing, and that she's proud of him. Iruma takes his role as Clara's student acting like he's honored, but Azz yells at him not let her get away with this as Clara only scored a slightly higher 58 on the practice test. Meanwhile, the other Abnormal students are seen watching the three of them celebrate from around the corner.
\\\
The next day within Royal One, Iruma, Azz, and Clara are surprised to see the Abnormal students once more at their desks trying to study. Upon being asked about it, they happily explain that they've grown used to studying a bit, and that it's gotten to a point where it sort of feels doable for them. In addition, they're seen sharing notes, such as Jazz providing his math formulas in return for the hints that teacher Oswell provided to Lied. As the studying session continues, it gets to a point where Iruma, Azz and Clara have all joined in to study as a group with the rest of the Abnormal students within Royal One. Shortly after, Iruma is left alone within the library as Azz and Clara head off to return their study books. Iruma picks up a study book, "Memorizing Demon History," and happily thinks over how studying's becoming better for him while reading it. That it's thanks to Balam's easy-to-understand picture books, Azz's tutoring, and Clara's upbeat attitude during studying, that everyone is now united, and are studying together as hard as they can.
\\\
Overall, Iruma's come to realize that studying is actually a lot of fun, and that it's thanks to everyone that it's become as fun as it is. He continues to become excited, and thinks that he might actually be smart after all. Unbeknownst to him, the better grades have gotten to Iruma's head, and it turns out that he's entered the second phase of his "studying high." The days go by as Azz and Clara happily watch Iruma continue to improve at studying. In addition, teachers Kalego and Robin are seen preparing the tests while the Abnormal students continue their studying. Eventually, the day of the exam finally arrives. Iruma and company take their seats within the Royal One classroom, and are provided their test sheets from Kalego. They all then begin to write down their answers.
\\\
As the test goes on, Kalego is seen watching over the class from his chair to make sure no one cheats. Once the time is up, Kalego orders the class to hand in their exams, and grades everyone's exams. However, most of the Abnormal students raise their hands begging the teacher to hold up as they aren't mentally prepared yet to hear how they did, and that they don't want to find out that they got to take extra classes. Kalego ignores it and prepares to announce who will be required to take supplementary lessons for failing the exam. Iruma and company all gump in anticipation not wanting it to be them, but Kalego is annoyed to reveal that no one failed, much to everyone's excitement that they pulled it off and saved their summer of fun.
\\\
Iruma starts using his phone knowing that he has to reveal to everyone his success while everyone else celebrates. However, Kalego orders them silent, and calls for Lied, Kamui and Goemon specifically. To their surprised excitment, Kalego rewards Lied, Kamui and Goemon with promotions up to Rank 2 (Bet) explaining the school rule that if a student at Rank 1 (Aleph) was able to score a higher than average grade on the exam, they would get a rank-up. The rest of the class congratulates them for the rank-up. Kalego then turns his attention to Schneider rewarding him with a double rank-up from Rank 1 (Aleph) to Rank 3 (Gimmel) as it turns out that said student got the top score of all first-years, much to everyone's shock.
\\\
Still excited over everyone's success, Iruma points out to Azz that everyone is proving themselves to be great, which Azz agrees with. However, Azz points out that Iruma specifically did exactly what he expected, which confuses Iruma. Azz looks towards his Abnormal classmates, and explains to Iruma that he originally believed that people who easily lose motivation wouldn't get anything better than bad grades. However, that all changed because the Abnormal students witnessed Iruma's studying spirit, which got them all motivated to also try studying. Overall, Azz makes it clear that Iruma has a talent where he's capable of changing the people around him. Azz breaks out into tears thinking over how this quality Iruma has is what makes him a true king, but Iruma turns his attention to his classmates, who are talking as a group about where to go for summer break.
\\\
Kalego hands Iruma his graded exam report informing the boy that he's proven to be the most improved of the students, but is still far away from a rank-up. Iruma then races out of Royal One knowing that he needs to talk to Balam. While thinking over Azz's words that he has the talent to change the people around him, Iruma figures that he needs to get this revelation across to Balam. He suddenly bumps into a teacher getting around a corner of the school, which turns out to be Balam having gotten himself a haircut. The appearance shocks Iruma asking what Balam did to his hair, but Balam replies that he's still got intact hair, much to Iruma's continued confusion. Balam then changes the subject asking how Iruma's exam went, which Iruma shows off the exam report that Kalego gave him. To Balam's shock he sees that Iruma scored a 64 in Astrology, a 72 in Demon History, a 70 in Medicine, a 58 in Q&A, and a 65 in Magic for a total of 329 points. Overall, Iruma is ranked #81 out of the 163 first-year students, which puts him around the middle of the group.
\\\
Grabbing hold of Iruma, Balam swings him in circles celebrating that the boy has shown massive improvement. Iruma tries to state that it's thanks to Balam, but the teacher denies it claiming that it was through Iruma's own ability. Balam figures that Iruma's family must be happy, which Iruma admits that he's been getting a lot of phone messages. Sure enough, Sullivan and Opera are seen on his phone congratulating Iruma for not having to take supplementary lessons, and that they're currently holding a party back home. Balam then pulls out a flower stating that this is his present for the boy, which freaks Iruma when he sees the flower bloom into a weird looking demon. Balam asks what's wrong, which Iruma answers that it's because it's a fire-breathing Salamander Flower. However, Balam points out that is indeed correct, and is proof that Iruma's achievements are showing, which catches Iruma's attention. Having already disabled the Salamander Flower for safety's sake, Balam states that the knowledge Iruma gained from this exam helped him grow a lot, and that it will help protect himself in the future. He then takes a seat on a nearby bench, and pats the spot next to him for Iruma to sit.
\\\
Balam goes about explaining that learning by influencing and improving each other is a privilege of living beings, and that as Iruma has already stated, the boy has gone through change. As a result, Balam points at his own hair explaining that his original long hair gave him a scary appearance. That he's decided that he will not only try to approach others, he will try to have others approach him. Iruma asks if what Balam is implying is that his influence got the latter to cut his hair, which Balam answers that he did. That similar to how one tiny droplet can make a big wave, it was one careless sentence from Iruma (the reveal that he's human) that motivated him to change. Balam states that Iruma not lying at certain moments is enough to move people's hearts. The teacher then brings the subject back to Iruma's grades pointing out that the boy has gotten over the hump of having bad grades. He asks if Iruma tried his best, which Iruma happily answers that he did. Shortly after, Kalego meets up with Balam in the hallway. The sight of Balam's haircut almost causes Kalego to break out into a rare laughter, which Balam notes that Kalego's always been the type of guy who tries to intensely repress his own body to keep himself from laughing.
\\\
Able to gather himself, Kalego notes that Balam appears more confident than before, and that Balam is continuing to prove himself as a rival as one of the most unique people at Babyls. As it turns out, Balam is Rank 8 (Chet) in the demon rankings just like Kalego, and is known as the "White Crow Guardian" gargoyle demon. In addition, Balam's bloodline ability is Buzzer; the ability to detect lies and wrong-doings of the observed target in an instant. Kalego goes over how Balam is like the surface of water; covering the school in his magic in order to see if any students are lying on the exam. Thus, explains how the teachers are able to catch students that are cheating. Kalego figures that there's no one capable of avoiding Balam's magic, but ends up surprised when he hears from Balam that there's indeed one student that his magic wasn't able to observe (implying that it's Iruma). However, Balam doesn't mind it stating that this is why living beings are so interesting. As they walk on, Kalego mentions that what goes on within Balam's head is frightening in a completely different way, which leaves Balam confused.
\\\
Meanwhile in the Magic Tools Research room, Iruma, Azz, and Clara are seen having a celebration party for their efforts passing the end term exam tests. However, it was not a success for everyone as Iruma notices that Schnare is missing. Azz explains that he used his recently developed intelligence serum to try to cheat on the exam, but ended up getting caught in a spectacular manner. As a result, Schnare's been forced into taking supplementary lessons.

Iruma and company make their way over to Dali's classroom for their next class, but are confused to see some frightened students trying to escape. However, a large demon teacher with a mouth-mask named Balam Shichiro is substituting for the class while Dali is currently going through his evil-cycle. Iruma is interested in meeting Balam as it turns out that said teacher is the writer of the textbook that Iruma scored a 100 in, but he's suddenly put in a dangerous situation when Balam grabs hold of Iruma, and announces that he will be giving the boy who wants to meet him a warm welcome.

Just like Iruma, Clara and Azz all get tied up by the teacher, and are forced to go along with the class with the other captured students. Balam begins his class, which is basically a detailed lesson on the imaginary beings of the human world that he finds to be fascinating creatures, whether it be human or animal. Throughout the class, Iruma hears the rumors of how Balam is a questionable teacher who likes to experiment on students. Hence, they're tied up because Balam is determining who to experiment on. Balam gets up close to Iruma patting the latter's back during a discussion about wings, but makes a discovery about Iruma that leaves the teacher completely shocked in disbelief. As a result, Balam ends the class, and drags Iruma off with him.

Iruma is brought to the faculty room where Balam reveals the bad news to his fellow teachers that he's discovered a kid with no demon wings. Upon investigating Iruma's back however, Blushenko and the other teachers are left confused by Balam's claim when they see that the boy has a tiny pair of wings. Unbeknownst to the teachers, Ali used his magic on the spot to quickly make Iruma a pair of fake wings. Iruma and Balam are then thrown out of the room for wasting their time.

As Iruma and Balam walk, the teacher grabs hold of the boy, and takes off his mouth-mask to show off his messed up mouth and fangs underneath. Balam does this as his way of apologizing for embarrassing Iruma just now. That showing his own secret will make up for forcibly revealing Iruma's (believing that Iruma's secret is his tiny wings). Balam also explains that the reason he ties people up is because his appearance scares people off, and that tying them up and touching them is the only way he knows how to interact with people. Balam brings Iruma back to his office to offer the boy some tea, which Iruma believes at this point that Balam is actually a nice teacher. As a result, Iruma feels comfortable enough to reveal to Balam that he's a human.

As a result, Iruma feels comfortable enough to reveal to Balam Shichiro that he's a human.

The reveal comes as a shock to Balam given that he's always wanted to meet an imaginary creature, such as a human. Balam is thankful for the reveal, but he goes about scolding Iruma to be more careful when it comes to hiding such a secret given that there are demons out there who won't take such a reveal as kindly as him. Following the hours of scolding, Iruma returns to the Royal One classroom where its shown that his Abnormal classmates have already exhausted themselves out after just a day of trying to study. Their situation only gets worse when it's discovered that only Azz, Sabro, Kerori, and Schneider are smart amongst the Abnormal class. However, since Azz is already busy tutoring Iruma, that Sabro and Schneider aren't exactly tutor material, and that Kerori has to use her free time for her secret idol job, this leaves the rest of the class feeling screwed from saving their summer plans.

Iruma asks about the plans, which as it turns out, they were all planning to go to Walter Park; an amusement park that's said to be the #1 place in the demon world to have fun. Iruma becomes excited at the thought of going due to never being able to experience such a fun place throughout his rough life back in the human world. He joins in celebrating with his class, but they all fall into despair when they're reminded by Kalego that it's not going to happen if they can't pass the final exam. Suddenly, their attention is brought to Balam peaking in at their class, who remains worried about Iruma. The Abnormal students fear him at first given the rumors. However, along with finding out that he's kind, they also can't believe that he and Kalego are good friends due to being a pair of Wellston alumni who grew up together as classmates. Taking Iruma off to the side, Balam explains how he's noticed that Iruma is struggling at studying, and that he's decided to make for the boy a secret weapon.

Back at his office, Balam uses his hobby of crafting picture books to make Iruma an educational children's picture book that teaches the basics of demon world magic, which shocks Iruma when he realizes that he understands the content. Sure enough, Balam announces that he will make more books to further teach Iruma about the demon world in order to increase the boy's knowledge and chances of survival. Afterwards, Iruma continues to struggle in his tutoring sessions with Azz and Clara, which he starts to go around to his Abnormal classmates to learn from their strengths, such as learning math from Jazz, and using Lied's gaming hobby to learn about demon world history from video-games.

As time goes on, Iruma receives more educational picture books from Balam teaching many different demon world subjects, and continues his study sessions. Eventually, he finally manages to score as high as a 55 on a practice test, much to Azz and Clara's excitement that their efforts are starting to pay off. Back at Royal One, the Abnormal class has taken notice of Iruma's improvement towards studying, which they all decide once more to try to take studying more seriously. Iruma, Azz and Clara join in, and the class all starts working together to study and share notes for the final exam. Thanks to the efforts of Balam and his classmates, Iruma has officially changed his tune towards studying, and now finds it to be a fun thing to do. Eventually, the day of the test arrives. Kalego hands out the tests for his Abnormal students, which Iruma and company get to work.

Iruma leaves his classroom to inform Balam of his success, which he ends up bumping into said teacher along the way. To Iruma's surprise, Balam is shown to have cut back his long hair. Iruma shows off his exam report revealing that his studying has brought him up to the middle of the pack as the 81st best student amongst the 163 first-years. Balam celebrates Iruma's growth, and having witnessed Iruma slowly changing, Balam reveals that it's thanks to Iruma's influence that he's decided to try to change as well by being more approachable with others. He confirms that there was one student he wasn't able to observe (implying that it was Iruma), but let's it slide. !!!Chapter 61: A Future To Look Forward Too

!!!Chapter 62: Devilish Studies

Iruma and company make their way over to Dali's classroom for their next class, but are confused to see some frightened students trying to escape. However, a large demon teacher with a mouth-mask named Balam Shichiro is substituting for the class while Dali is currently going through his evil-cycle. Iruma is interested in meeting Balam as it turns out that said teacher is the writer of the textbook that Iruma scored a 100 in, but he's suddenly put in a dangerous situation when Balam grabs hold of Iruma, and announces that he will be giving the boy who wants to meet him a warm welcome. Sure enough, Iruma, Clara and Azz all get tied up by the teacher, and are forced to go along with the class with the other captured students.

!!!Chapter 65: The Joy of Learning

Once the tests are completed, Kalego grades their work, and shocks the class when he reveals that none of them failed. As the Abnormal students all celebrate their success, Kalego rewards some of them that were still at Rank 1 (Aleph) with rank-ups. Lied, Goemon, and Kamui are all promoted to Rank 2 (Bet) for scoring higher than average, and Schneider jumps two ranks to Rank 3 (Gimmel) for being the top score amongst all the first-years. It wasn't enough for a rank-up, but he still praises Iruma for being the most improved of the students.

!!Short First Term Final Exams Arc Summary

Following their transfer into the Royal One classroom, Kalego informs his Abnormal class that the final exam is just around the corner before everyone goes on a vacation for the end of the school term. Said announcement freaks out the Abnormal students, which Kalego happily warns them to get good grades if they don't want to take supplementary classes should they fail the test. The announcement also comes as a shock to Iruma given his poor grades as a result of being a human that knows nothing about the demon world.

Iruma, Clara and Azz meet up at their Magic Tools Research division room where Iruma reveals to them his disastrously low test grades to the point of his highest grade being a measly 6; even lower than Clara of all people. Despite Iruma's poor grades showing his ignorance of the demon world, Azz remains loyal to Iruma having already been won over by his friend's kindness and strength to overcome hardships. In addition, the sight of Wicked Phase Iruma sitting on the demon throne left a huge impression on Azz to the point of believing that Iruma will one day be the future Demon King. Overall, Azz convinces the three of them to study together to pass the test, which motivates Iruma when he hears that getting a good grade could potentially reward a rank-up.

Suddenly, Schnare Eligos, the 2nd-year fanboy student that drugged Ameri, arrives at the Magic Tools Research division to become a member. As it turns out, it had been decided by Ameri and her council to leave Schnare in the hands of Iruma's division. This is due to the potential that Schnare displayed crafting the personality-altering drug, and because the student council trusts Iruma and company to keep an eye on him. In the end, they're forced to accept Schnare as a new member of their Battler division.

At home, Iruma struggles to study, and is unable to receive proper help from Sullivan and Opera. In addition, Ali is afraid of disappearing knowing that Iruma failing the test could result in a loss in demon rank as punishment. Upon returning to school, all the Abnormal students have taken it upon themselves to study for the test within Royal One; motivated to not lose their long vacation break. Meanwhile, Iruma, Azz and Clara begin their study session on the five subjects that will be on the test, but upon trying to answer some of the study questions, it's once more made clear that Iruma doesn't know anything.

Amongst the study textbooks however, Iruma's attention is brought to one called "Imaginary Biology of the History of the Demonic Realm," which asks questions related to the human world. For once, Iruma's able to properly answer the questions given his human world knowledge, and to the shock of everyone within the Abnormal class, he scores a perfect 100 for that specific textbook. Overall, Azz becomes excited that they finally found a study that Iruma is talented at, and informs him that teacher Dali's Demonic History class is coming up for Iruma to show off his newly discovered knowledge.

\\\
\\\
