Ahlberg. However, Ahlberg turns out to be vain, overzealous, and not great at his job.

* JustPlaneWrong: When the airship is hit by lightning from the Weather Spirits which damage the engines, the ship immediately plummets towards the ground, with Gerga barely avoiding a crash. However, airships get their lifting power from the gas inside the balloon. The engines are only for controling the ships direction. The engines shorting out should not have resulted in a crash, but simply cause the airship to start drifting with the wind.

* AdaptationExpansion: Opens with the opening scene of the book Hilda and the Stone Forest before quickly transitioning to original content; as the scene in the book in question is followed by a TimePassesMontage, one could say the entire season of original content adapts and expands on that aspect of the book before returning to the rest of the Stone Forest plot in the season finale.

** Likewise, The Two-Headed Troll appeared midway in "The Stone Forest" Graphic Novel. In this episode, the Troll makes his debut during the climax.

Not really sure why that was worth pointing out. That's meant to be a narrative thing, not a music thing

* {{Bookends}}: The first episode of season 1 kicks off the season and the series by playing "Hilda's Theme". The first episode of season 2 continues the tradition by playing...do I need to say it again?

* RousingSpeech: Somewhat played with in the episode. Ahlberg's speech to Hilda's class foreshadows his true colors and it ends with him ringing a bell, which isn't a good sign for Trolberg wildlife.
