After being assigned to buy groceries, Odie is cheated out of his money by an alley cat, who trades an old sock in for Odie's grocery money. Odie returns back home sadly while Jon is very upset of him due to him losing the money. So Garfield decides to help him by disguising as a [[PaperThinDisguise rich kid]] and confronted the alley cat. He pretends that he's looking for his other missing sock (that the alley cat cheated on Odie) and willing to give a large sum of money. The ally cat takes the bait and gives back his money to Odie. Jon manages to forgive Odie and decides to buy the grocery food himself. As Garfield and Odie were playing Monopoly while commenting there's not anyone dumb enough to get fooled by it, Jon returns to have a sock in his mouth; same thing that happens to Odie.
