Fenton won each time, able to count the number of ball-bearings in jars faster than the supercomputer M.E.L. For the last round, Fenton challenged M.E.L. to count the bolts, but it's a trick, as the jar was full of nuts, not bolts.

* ShoutOut: [=GICU2=] is clearly intended as a more family-friendly take on [[Film/RoboCop ED-209]], with shades of the ''Franchise/{{Transformers}}''. Additionally, Scrooge's "what, behind the van?" comment when Gyro first unveils it echoes King Arthur's "what, behind the rabbit?" when he and his knights encountered the KillerRabbit in ''Film/MontyPythonAndTheHolyGrail''.

* OutsideContextProblem: For the first few episodes, the McDucks and Gizmo Duck were fighting against the Beagle Boys to get the money bin back, but in "Money to Burn," the alien robots show up, and take the bin to their planet.

* AlwaysNeedWhatYouGaveUp: Gyro letting the [=GICU2=] blow up its remote control turned out to be a bad idea when it declared him and Scrooge as intruders and they couldn't turn it off.

* GiantSpaceFleaFromNowhere: The first four parts all focus on the Beagle Boys trying to steal Scrooge's money, and eventually using it to successfully take over the entire town. Then part 5 comes in, and suddenly robotic aliens appear and steal the Money Bin forcing Scrooge, Launchpad, and Gizmoduck to chase after them while the Beagle Boys are almost completely forgotten.

* GettingCrapPastTheRadar: One of the Beagle Boys' hostages actually attempts to commit suicide by jumping out the window to escape the Beagle Boys' torturing of their hostages by playing the bagpipes.

* MythologyGag: Part 1 features a couple nods to the very first solo Uncle Scrooge comic story, "Only a Poor Old Man," such as Scrooge having all of his money contained within a wooden dam and the Beagle Boys attempting to destroy it with termites. Scrooge having to move the Money Bin because of a city project is a nod to another story.

* InstantExpert: Averted. When Fenton first gets the Gizmoduck suit he barely knows how to operate it, and though Gyro does give him the instruction booklet he loses it, which winds up severely hampering him when he fights the [=GICU2=]. It does seem to get played straight later on when he's apparently fully mastered it just one day later in time to save Huey, Dewey, Louie, and an innocent crowd from the Beagle Boys, but some FridgeBrilliance kicks in when you realize that since he was forced to spend the entire previous day stuck in the suit it probably gave him some time to properly test out all of its features.

* AlwaysNeedWhatYouGaveUp: Gyro letting the G.I.C.U 2 blow up its remote control turned out to be a bad idea when it declared him and Scrooge as intruders and they couldn't turn it off.

* ExactWords: Gyro programs the security robot for the Money Bin to shoot at anyone who approaches the bin. Unfortunately, he failed to program in the obvious exception that it should let Scrooge in.

* DiabolusExNihilo: This arc begins with four relatively down-to-earth episodes, where we're introduced to Fenton Crackshell and find out how he became Scrooge Mc Duck's accountant and the super hero Gizmoduck. And the villains during those four episodes are the Beagles, who are just normal criminals and appear in many other episodes on the show outside this arc... But in the fifth episode, Money to Burn, everything is changed when some alien robots randomly appear on the scene to steal Scrooge's money bin. Granted, the robots have a good reason from their perspective to steal money: they need the metal from the coins to make new robots. But they still come out of nowhere, just to make Scrooge, Fenton/Gizmoduck and Launchpad suddenly go on an adventure in space, almost kill the heroes to make axel grease and be destroyed by Fenton/Gizmoduck. And that is apparently all, that we have to know about them...

* AdoptedToTheHouse: After the Beagle Boys buy out Scrooge's mansion ([[KickTheDog with his own money no less!]]), and leave him and the others homeless, Launchpad offers to let them all stay at his place. It's a fairly heartwarming action considering the [[Recap/DuckTalesS1E20DownAndOutInDuckburg last time]] the [=McDuck=] family and associates were left both penniless and homeless Scrooge was convinced that Launchpad wouldn't want anything to do with them once they were poor.
