Meanwhile, Team Z is seen training on their practice field. Despite knowing that he has potential football weapons in goal scent or spatial perception, Isagi's unable to recreate the goal that won them the game against Team Y. Ego then appears on the field's television to inform Team Z that the next two stratum matches have been played. Team V beating Team W 5-1, and Team Y beating Team X 4-3. The V-Z Round-Robin tournament now has all teams at 3 points other than Team V being at 6. Ego then distributes new rankings for Team Z, and points out that meaningful goals really affect the rankings. As a result, Isagi is named Team Z's new top player at Rank 265 followed by Kunigami, Gagamaru, Bachira, Kuon, Raichi, Imamura, Iemon, Naruhaya, Chigiri, and Igarashi in that order. Before signing off, Ego provides a bit of advice that their next step is to develop their weapon into something great now that they know what it is.

Following the win against Team Y, the players of Team Z are all back in their team room to truly celebrate their victory with a delicious meal. They use Isagi and Gagamaru's points from the goals they scored to purchase two steaks, which they combine with their usual ranking meals. As the team goes about enjoying the meal and having fun, Kunigami brings up the game by pointing out how great it turned out that Isagi stepped up. Gagamaru asks if Isagi perhaps knew where the ball was going to end up, which Isagi states that he was just lucky as he was just running towards where he believed the ball might end up. In return, Kunigami figures that said goal was further proof that Isagi's weapon is "Goal Scent," and that it's a fact that they won the game thanks to said weapon. The group then goes back to celebrating.
A recap of the five team round robin graph is provided where other than Team Y having 0 points, the other four V to Z teams have 3 points. During the night as Team Z's currently sleeping in their team room, Isagi's unable to sleep as he's still hyped up after scoring a goal. He gets up, and leaves the sleeping room while thinking over how he can pull off such a goal again, and wonders if the hype he's currently feeling is something that others feel after scoring a goal. Wanting to watch his goal again, he heads over to Team Z's monitoring room that has recorded footage of past Blue Lock games that they can watch to study. Upon entering the monitoring room, he's surprised to find his teammate, Hyoma Chigiri, is also up, and is currently watching footage of the Team Z vs. Team Y match.
After greeting one another, Chigiri admits that he couldn't sleep, and guesses that Isagi can't sleep knowing that the latter must still be really hyped after scoring such a great goal. That such moments are the greatest for strikers. Isagi admits that to be the case, and that it's a goal that means a lot to him as he never would have gone for such a goal if he never came to Blue Lock. However, Isagi adds that he just views it as a lucky shot, and still doesn't have an idea on what his weapon is. In return, Chigiri provides his theory that what Isagi has is "Spatial Perception." The ability to see the entire field as if Isagi's a god looking down from heaven rather than just what he sees in his eyes' direct line of sight. Chigiri figures that having such an ability is how Isagi senses when a crisis is about to happen, or getting into position to score a goal when everyone leasts expects it. As a result, Isagi takes note of possibly having "Spatial Perception" as his football weapon.
Chigiri continues to explain that from what he witnessed watching Isagi's play, the latter's "Spatial Perception" is just instinct at the moment. However, Chigiri figures that it will become a one-of-a-kind weapon if Isagi's able to master it. Glad to see that Chigiri's a nice guy, Isagi thanks him for the advice. Isagi then asks what Chigiri's weapon is, which Chigiri reminds him that he's not interested in talking about it. However, Isagi continues to push wanting to know what it is, and if it's something Isagi can help with. Holding his knee, Chigiri reveals how he suffered a major injury in a past: a torn ACL in his right knee. Chigiri explains how the doctors told him that there's a chance that his time playing football would come to an end if he ends up injuring his knee again. He claims to have once been someone like Isagi. Someone who dreams to be the best striker in the world, and getting hyped up when playing football and scoring goals. However, he's now unable to play like he used to due to being scared that he would lose his dream of playing football if he was to reinjure his knee.
Getting up to leave the monitoring room, Chigiri says back to Isagi that he came to Blue Lock looking for a reason to give up on football, and believes to have found it after seeing the goal that Isagi scored. Thus, implying that Chigiri is leaving the dream of becoming the greatest striker to Isagi. However, Isagi calls out Chigiri to not use him as an excuse; stating that Chigiri clearly doesn't want to give up. Isagi announces that he doesn't want this to end, and that he won't falter or throw away his dream. The comment angers Chigiri stating back that Isagi knows nothing about him as Chigiri finally leaves the monitoring room.

Ego and Anri remain on break before its time to watch the next set of games. As Anri's doing the Blue Lock laundry, she asks Ego how the project's progressing, which Ego tells her that she needs to be patient. Anri then looks to the many empty instant ramen and yakisoba bowls that Ego's been eating not impressed by his unhealthy eating. In return, Ego claims that he's just catching up on enjoying such things after having such a strict diet in the past. Anri remains annoyed that Ego's not cleaning up after himself, which Ego reminds her that he's fulfilling the football part of his contract, which he's keeping all his focus on. Being reminded about football, Anri asks how Blue Lock's First Selection is going. In turn, Ego tells her to just watch as they're getting to the spicy part.
Meanwhile, Team Z is seen practicing football on their team's practice field. Isagi takes a break after not being able to replicate his goal that won the match against Team Y, which he uses the moment to think about how to understand his "Goal Scent" and "Spatial Perception" weapons better. He also has Chigiri on his mind as he assures himself that this isn't going to have this end on just one fluke shot. Ego eating ramen then pops up on the television for Team Z's practice field to provide them an update on the two matches that just played. Team Y had beaten Team X by the score of 4-3, and Team V had beaten Team W by the score of 5-1. This updates the five team round robin graph to all teams now having 3 points other than Team V being up at 6 points as the only team of V-Z that won their first two matches.
Ego then explains how rankings were originally based on performance and plays, but now, they've reached a point where rankings can be determined by a striker's greatest strength: their goals. He adds that the goal rankings are based on how meaningful they were for the team. Thus, since Isagi's goal that won the match against Team Y was the most meaningful, Isagi obtains the new top ranking of Team Z at Rank 265, which surprsies Isagi. Meanwhile, Kunigami and Gagamaru move up to Ranks 266 and 267 respectively for having Team Z's other two scores. As everyone reacts to the new rankings, Ego provides a bit of advice for Team Z to continue honing their weapons, and provides video footage of Lionel Messi incredible play that led to him becoming one of the world's top strikers. He orders Team Z to follow Messi's example, and that since everyone has their own unique weapon, they need to find it, and evolve it to make it truly exceptional.
Ego's speech comes to an end as a timer appears on the practice field's television showing that the Team Z vs. Team W match will start in 24 hours. The rest of Team Z calls it a day and heads off the practice field. However, Isagi stays behind as his mind is currently focused on how to make his "Goal Scent" and "Spatial Perception" weapons better to go beyond his current rank. Realizing that his weapon only triggered at a specific time in the game, Isagi concludes that what he needs to raise his endurance so that he can last the entire game to experience more of such moments where his weapon kicks in. Thus, he gets up and starts running around the practice field to continue exercising; determined to become exceptional. Suddenly, Kunigami appears behind Isagi, and starts running as well claiming that if Team Z's current #1 is training, he should train too. Bachira then appears next, and points Isagi to look behind him, which sure enough, the rest of Team Z have returned to the practice field; all determined to keep running as well following behind Isagi's lead.
Hyped that everyone is now following behind him, Isagi's ego kicks in and runs as hard as he can claiming that he will be reborn at Blue Lock. Meanwhile, Ego watches Team Z's continued running exercise from his viewing room. He says to himself that a spark has ignited within Team Z, and that Team Z now having a leader has caused a spiral of competititveness, which he deems this to be the true essence of Blue Lock. Ego claims that heroes can only be born at the most crucial of moments, which Chigiri can be seen on Team Z's practice field as the only one not running. Chigiri just watching Isagi and company continue to run.

The 8th StoryArc of the ''Blue Lock'' manga series, which centers on Team Z's downtime after their victory over Team Y. Isagi runs into Chigiri during a night that they can't sleep, which Chigiri theorizes that Isagi's weapon might be "spatial perception;" the ability to see the entire football field. Chigiri also reveals his story to Isagi where he's lost his motivation to play football due to suffering a knee injury in the past, and that he's scared that reinjuring it could ruin his dream of being the best striker. Afterwards, Ego provides the new Team Z rankings with Isagi as the team's new top player due to him scoring the winning goal against Team Y. Following behind Isagi's lead, the team other than Chigiri becomes motivated to continue training for their upcoming match against Team W.
It makes up chapters 14 and 15 of the series.

!!!Chapter 14: Resolution
!!!Chapter 15: Spiral
