* Amazon, whose real name is Daisuke Yamamoto, was a wild man who grew up in the Amazon rainforest after being stranded from a plane crash during his infant days. However, his idyllic existence is cut short when the Ten-Faced Demon Gorgos, leader of the secret organization Geddon, massacres the village in search of the powerful "[[TransformationTrinket GiGi Armlet]]", which empowers its wielder with enormous powers. The last of the Incas, Elder Bago entrusts the [=GiGi=] Armlet to Amazon for safekeeping after the elder performed a mystical operation on him through Incan science and magic, transforming him into the powerful Kamen Rider Amazon before he fled to Japan as he battles the Geddon, and later, the Garanda Empire, before he learns the true nature of the armlet's powers.
* There was a time that he teamed up with Kamen Rider Fourze in their battle against Foundation X's Mutamit Sunddendath Beta. There, he gave the younger Rider the Clear Drill Switch, an Astroswitch that he found in the Amazon rainforest, to turn Fourze into Rocket Drill States before they defeat the Mutamit for good. He had to apologize to Kengo and Yuki for having to travel all the way to the rainforest to rescue him. Thankfully Fourze's Cosmic States made him grab a portal to bring them back after they were stuck for ''twelve days straight trying to find Amazon''.
* Due to his kind and friendly nature, Amazon spends his time in the House of Friendship, befriending some of the good aligned deities while he also gives a [[http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_jUm1aaWSreo/Sn_qxN6ShwI/AAAAAAAACxw/tpaN0-1GdoQ/s1600-h/igablog007.jpg hand gesture which signifies the sign of friendship]] to the ones he befriended.
** He also became friends with both Elena and Inori Yamabuki as both three of them of them happens to be [[FriendToAllLivingThings friendly towards living things]]. While both are glad that they became friends, they support each other in their battles although the girls are kinda weirded out by how his fightes can get...very messy.
* He seems to have a strong friendship with fellow {{Nature Hero}}es like Tarzan, Mowgli, and George of the Jungle, after knowing their respective pasts of growing up in the jungle for the rest of their childhood.
* Amazon is one of the sweetest Kamen Riders ever...unless you hurt a child. Then he'll resort to biting and ripping the one who hurt the child into bits, blood spewing everywhere. This reason why he support the likes of Jin Kazama and Yu Narukami since they also wants to protect the children from every child haters and abusive parents like Ghetsis, Sid, and Banno.
** He also became disgusted with Kyubey after hearing of its actions involving making a contract with pre-adolescent girls which turns them into magical girls [[spoiler:in exchange of losing their humanity before they became a monstrous Witches after they fell into despair]]. The first thing he did to Kyubey, [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/5431365464f66fd71ca37073bde5513bcd64ce41_9.jpg was bite the Incubator's head in a fit of rage]].
** Also, he was very furious upon hearing the actions of Monokuma and [[spoiler:Junko Enoshima]] for their crimes that involved 15 students in their "School Life of Mutual Killings" at Hope's Peak Academy. Amazon has started to join other heroes in the pantheon in an effort to stop their potential school killing since then.
* In his recent appearances, Amazon's tone of voice became sounds similar with the likes of [[Creator/TomokazuSeki Domon Kasshu, Shinya Kogami, and Haru Glory]]. In fact Amazon had good relations with them.
* There are some speculation that [[http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=8849637 Amazon is buying bananas at Amazon shopping website]].
* He is recently seen training his herald and successor Haruka Mizusawa, better known as Kamen Rider Amazon Omega, in hopes that he could ascend properly in the future.
* Like many Toku heroes before, he was not pleased that SHOCKER has made their move into the pantheon, considering that most of his old enemies have joined forces with the terrorist organization. Because of this, Amazon is happy to work with Hongo and Ichimonji once again, as well as he joins with other heroes, in their attempt to stop SHOCKER's plans for [[TakeOverTheWorld world domination]].
* Was surprised to find Excadrill in the Pantheon, as the Pokémon reminded him of his old pal the Mole Beastman. Amazon has tried to communicate with Excadrill and even taught him his signature friendship hand-sign. Then on his way to his temple, he was surprised to find the Mole Beastman waiting for him. Daisuke's reaction was just to run and cry TearsOfJoy once more.

Did some rewriting of the Dung Defender section to improve readability and make it seem more grandiose.

* Back when the kingdom of Hallownest was prospering under the Pale King's rule, beneath the throne stood the Five Great Knights, who served as the kingdom's protectors. Among them was Ogrim, best known as the Dung Defender, who was revered for his UndyingLoyalty to Hallownest and the Pale King, and participated in many battles and adventures with his fellow knights. Alas, the Infection struck, and Hallownest was brought to ruin, with its inhabitants being turned into monstrous, infected, mindless husks. Dung Defender managed to avoid this fate by isolating himself in the Royal Waterways, where all of refuse had gathered. There, he swore to protect the grove of his fellow knight Isma, who he had a particular kind of close relationship with, and denied access to all visitors, granting passage only to those who prove their honour in combat. Such was the case with the little Knight who he once mistook for one of the aforementioned husks only to get defeated in what he described as "the most majestic knightly fashion". Though unaware of the eventual fate of his King and his fellow knights, he still held hope that they would eventually reunite and that the Hallownest will be reborn again, glorious and bright, as it ever was. Eventually, he went on the journey to make sure the line of Hallownest's Great Knights will not end with him, but not before leaving one parting gift to the little Knight in form of the dung sculpture made in its likeness.
* One day, a foul odor had spread itself across the entire House of Locations. As the investigation was held, the reason behind the odor turned out to be a new room in the sewer with a huge pool of dung and feces in the middle, its smell going all the way to the surface. A group of adventurers was sent there to investigate, but the moment they arrived, the dung in the giant pile began to rustle and scatter, and a big, armor-clad dung beetle bursted out of the dung pool, and, with a PrimalChestPound and the loud BattleCry of [[IncomingHam "FAAAAAAARRRFFUUUUNNNDADDAAA!"]], initiated the fight, ignoring the initial pleas of the group that they mean no harm. A battle ensued, and a lot of dung was chucked around, but the group eventually became victorious, launching the beetle warrior into the pile of dung. Several hours after the battle, the group returned into his place, and the warrior emerged from the pool of dung once more, this time much chummier than before. He apologized for the conflict, admitting that it was his mistake and explaining that he was greatly caught off-guard by him suddenly appearing in the unfamiliar place and assumed the worst about the group. Once the misunderstanding was cleared, Dung Defender got his place in the Pantheon, ascended as the God of Sewer Levels. As of the odor problem? It was eventually solved with the channels of pipes and vents that were designed to ward off the smell into some place that nobody visits, and with the addition of a manhole.
* As one can easily tell by his name, Dung Defender has a strong preference for dung. As his primary weapon, he can roll up the dung balls to throw them at enemies (which he can occasionally follow up by rolling into a ball to bounce together with the balls), swim in the dung pool like in the water, and dive into the dung to unburrow himself later, throwing dung balls everywhere. His affinity extends even beyond the combat, as he lives in the cave in the pool of dung and makes dung sculptures. Due to spending so much time in the dung pool, he constantly omits strong dung odor as his SignatureScent, which he calls "the proud odour of the just". As a result, very few deities want to be in close proximity next to him, and he also ended up being the primary target of the many {{Neat Freak}}s, who seek to clean him up so that he would no longer spread his "heroic odor" across the entire Pantheon.
* Dung Defender was overjoyed to meet [[Pantheon/GamingGenresAToM the Knight]] once more in the Pantheon, and would gladly come to its assistance whenever he can, always happy to have adventures together with a fellow warrior of Hallownest. Much like the Knight, Dung Defender also seeks to permanently put an end to [[Pantheon/SingularSymbolism the]] [[Pantheon/{{Insects}} Radiance]] and rid the world of her plague. The Radiance, of course, hates him, not just because he's one of the Pale King's followers, but also because she's personally offended by the fact that he managed to avoid her MysticalPlague for unbelievably long time and still manages to avoid it in the Pantheon as well.
* Because of him primarily residing in sewers, Dung Defender found allies in the form of [[Pantheon/{{Reptiles}} Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles]], another fellow heroic sewer inhabitants, and is glad to provide assistance in fighting their enemies in sewers. At the same time, he also found an enemy in the form of Ramon, a giant man-eating SewerGator. Dung Defender had agreed to take care of Ramon in case it would attack the surface in an attempt to prey on innocents, and the fact that Ramon is repulsed by his "heroic odour" has made the job quite easier for him. Also, because of their mutual affinity for dung and shared inhabitat, he managed to befriend [[Pantheon/UnorthodoxCombat Numemon and Sukamon]], always willing to stand up to their defense, allowing them to hang out in his temple, and was even willing to partner up with some of them, much to other deities' chagrin (as if his temple wasn't smelly enough). As of their unappealing appearances, he not only doesn't mind it, but even actually finds them cute [[UglyCute in a certain way]]. This resulted in him earning a lot of weird looks from other deities, but he doesn't mind.
* Given that Dung Defender is an insect, he ended up finding an enemy in the form of [[Pantheon/EarthAndRock Barroth]], an insectivorous wyvern that is known to cover itself in mud and submerging itself in the mud pool, similarly to how Dung Defender himself is known to swim in a giant pool of dung. This resulted in an unfortunate conflict once Barroth strayed too far from its House and wandered into the sewers of the House of Locations. Finding the dung beetle to be a decent prey, Barroth immediately charged at Dung Defender, initiating a battle. The battle continued for many hours, given the predator's affinity for dirt making Dung Defender's [[DungFu preferred weapon]] nigh-ineffective, and only when Dung Defender decided to rely primarily on his curling and bouncing attack he was able to dish out enough damage to the beast to force it to leave. Even then, Barroth is still known to return to Dung Defender's sewer whenever it wants to prey on him, much to his chagrin.
* [[Pantheon/LivingObjects The Great Mighty Poo]] was amused to discover of the existance of a bug who also enjoys throwing shit at enemies, and once sent him a letter to arrive into his temple for a visit, in hopes that he would enjoy his singing. Surprisingly, Dung Defender actually enjoyed his songs, which almost made the Great Mighty Poo shed TearsOfJoy. Unfortunately, he was not approving of the fact that the Great Mighty Poo throws shit at others ForTheEvulz, as he himself throws dung only in the name of the noble cause, i.e. protecting Hallownest against threats, guarding the grove he swore to defend, etc.. The Great Mighty Poo was not pleased with that, and their friendship ended as soon as it began. While the aftermath does not prevent the Dung Defender from enjoying his songs (and the Great Mighty Poo would be very eager to sing at his request), it the end, they are still enemies, and should the Poo attempt to bring harm to innocents, Dung Defender would stand by their side and engage him in the glorious poop-throwing battle.
* He was initially uneasy with [[Pantheon/{{Insects}} Khepri]], another fellow dung beetle deity, due to his close association with the sun, as it reminded him a lot about the Radiance. However, once the Dawn Bringer approached him, he proved himself to be surprisingly amiable to Dung Defender, and also revealed that not only he's not related to her, but also outright resents her for her sins. This made Ogrim breathe a big sigh of relief, and they've been on friendly terms ever since. The scarab god greatly appreciates Dung Defender's UndyingLoyalty to his King and dedication to his duties in preserving Hallownest and protecting the grove of his fellow knight, Isma, and the Defender himself in turn is very pleased with the Dawn Bringer's own dedication to his role in maintaining the day-and-night cycle. Dung Defender even made two sculptures of Khepri, one made in the likeness of his human-with-scarab-head form, and other in the likeness of his scarab form, and offered them as a gift to him, which he accepted. Both sculptures are still kept in the Dawn Bringer's temple to this very day, preserved and taken care of, much to other deities' chagrin, as they can barely stomach the foul stench of refuse produced by these "gifts".

A group's attempts at negotiation ignored. The battle ensued, was one for the ages, and a lot of dung was chucked around, but the group eventually became victorious, launching triumphed, handing the beetle warrior a solid thrashing and sending him flying into the pile of dung. Several hours after the battle, the group returned into his place, to this room, and the warrior emerged from the pool of dung once more, this time having learned his lesson and much chummier than before. Once the misunderstanding was cleared, cleared up, the Dung Defender got was appointed to his place in the Pantheon, ascended ascending properly as the God of Sewer Levels. As of the The odor problem? It problem was eventually solved with a remodel of the sewers, channels of pipes and vents that were designed installed to ward off redirect the smell into some place that nobody visits, smell, and with the addition of a manhole.
* As one can easily tell by his name, the Dung Defender has is a strong preference for master of his domain...and that domain is dung. As He wields it as his primary weapon, he can able to quickly roll up the dung tough balls of the stuff to throw them at enemies (which he his foes (he can occasionally follow even curl up by rolling into a ball to bounce together with the balls), add himself as a third projectile!), he can swim in the dung pool like in the as if it were water, and he can dive into the dung to unburrow himself later, throwing then emerge with a mighty leap, scattering dung balls everywhere. His affinity mastery extends even beyond the combat, as he lives residing in the cave in the pool of stuff as he does, and he's an excellent sculptor who uses dung and makes dung sculptures. Due to spending as his medium. However, as he spends so much time in among the dung pool, stuff, he constantly omits strong dung odor as his SignatureScent, has taken on its [[SignatureScent signature odour]], which he calls "the proud odour of the just". As a result, very few deities want to be in close proximity next to him, and he also ended up being the primary target of the many {{Neat Freak}}s, who seek to clean restore him up so that he would no longer spread his "heroic odor" across to the entire Pantheon.
pristine, gleaming, odorless condition they're sure he once held.
* The Dung Defender was overjoyed to meet [[Pantheon/GamingGenresAToM the Knight]] once more in the Pantheon, and and, should the need arise, would gladly come to its assistance whenever he can, assistance, always happy to have adventures together go adventuring with a fellow warrior of Hallownest. Much like the Knight, Dung Defender also seeks to permanently put an end to [[Pantheon/SingularSymbolism the]] [[Pantheon/{{Insects}} Radiance]] and rid the world of her plague. The Radiance, meanwhile, harbors a special kind of course, hates hatred for him, not just because he's both for being one of the Pale King's followers, but also because she's personally offended by the fact that he managed for somehow managing to avoid her MysticalPlague for an unbelievably long time time, and still manages doing it here.
* Due
to avoid it making his home in the Pantheon as well.
* Because of him primarily residing in
sewers, the Dung Defender found allies in met and befriended the form of [[Pantheon/{{Reptiles}} Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles]], another fellow a quartet of heroic sewer inhabitants, and is glad to provide assistance in fighting their enemies in sewers. whenever he's able. He's also picked up a fondness for pizza.
**
At the same time, he also found an enemy in the form of Ramon, a giant man-eating SewerGator. The Dung Defender had agreed to take care of do righteous battle with Ramon in case should it would attack the surface in an attempt to prey on innocents, and the fact that the Defender's 'heroic odour' affects Ramon is repulsed by his "heroic odour" has made the job quite easier for him. Also, a bit easier.
*** Furthermore,
because of their mutual affinity for dung and shared inhabitat, habitat, he managed to befriend [[Pantheon/UnorthodoxCombat Numemon and Sukamon]], always ever willing to bravely stand up to in their defense, allowing them to hang out in his temple, and was even willing to partner up with some of them, much to other deities' chagrin (as if his temple wasn't smelly enough). As of chagrin. He's been told that others consider their unappealing appearances, he not only appearance unappealing, but the Defender doesn't mind it, but see it that way, even actually finds them cute stating the two have [[UglyCute in a certain way]]. their own peculiar kind of cuteness]]. This resulted in him earning a lot of weird looks from other deities, but he doesn't mind.
that's nothing new for him.
* Given that the Dung Defender is an insect, he ended up finding an enemy in the form of a most vexatious foe: [[Pantheon/EarthAndRock Barroth]], an insectivorous wyvern that is Brute Wyvern known to cover submerge itself in mud pools and submerging itself in the use mud pool, as a weapon, similarly to how Dung Defender himself is known to swim in a giant pool of dung. does it. This resulted in an unfortunate conflict encounter once Barroth strayed too far from its House and wandered into the sewers of the House of Locations. Defender's domain. Finding the dung beetle to be a decent prey, worth preying on, Barroth immediately charged at Dung Defender, initiating a battle. launched into the attack immediately...quite literally! The battle continued for many hours, given the predator's affinity for dirt making Dung Defender's [[DungFu preferred weapon]] nigh-ineffective, and only when Dung the Defender decided to rely primarily on his curling and bouncing attack he attacks was he able to dish out enough damage to repel the beast to force it to leave. beast. Even then, Barroth is still known to return occasionally returns to Dung Defender's sewer whenever it wants to prey on him, much to his chagrin.
feels ready for another go.
* [[Pantheon/LivingObjects The Great Mighty Poo]] was amused to discover of the existance of a bug who also enjoys throwing shit at enemies, many of the same things he does, and once sent him a letter to arrive into venture to his temple for a visit, so they could meet, in hopes that he would enjoy his singing. Surprisingly, the Dung Defender actually enjoyed his songs, did very much enjoy that song, which almost made the Great Mighty Poo shed TearsOfJoy. Unfortunately, he was not approving disapproved of the fact that the Great Mighty Poo throws shit at others wielding the power of excrement ForTheEvulz, as he himself throws his weaponized dung only in the name is a tool of the justice and noble cause, causes, i.e. protecting Hallownest against threats, guarding the grove he swore to defend, etc.. etc. The Great Mighty Poo was not pleased with that, and and, agreeing to disagree, their friendship ended as soon as it began. While the aftermath does not prevent the Dung Defender from enjoying his songs the Great Mighty Poo's song (and the Great Mighty Poo would be very eager to sing at his request), gladly sings when asked), it the end, they are still enemies, stand opposed, and should the Poo attempt to bring harm to innocents, Dung the Defender would stand by their side is ever ready to rise to the occasion and engage him in the glorious poop-throwing battle.
what would undoubtedly be a [[DungFu master-class battle of poop-throwing]].
* He was initially uneasy with [[Pantheon/{{Insects}} Khepri]], another fellow Khepri]]. On one hand, Khepri is a dung beetle deity, due to his close association deity. On the OTHER hand, Khepri is closely associated with the sun, as it reminded him a lot about which brings uncomfortable memories of the Radiance. However, once the Dawn Bringer approached him, paid the Defender a visit, he proved himself to be surprisingly amiable to Dung Defender, his fellow beetle's causes, and also revealed that he is not only he's not related unrelated to her, the Radiance, but also outright resents her, citing her for monstrous arrogance, among her sins.other sins, as the reason. This made Ogrim breathe a big sigh of relief, and they've been on friendly terms ever since. The scarab god greatly appreciates the Dung Defender's UndyingLoyalty to his King and dedication to his duties in preserving Hallownest and protecting the grove of his fellow knight, Isma, and the Defender himself Defender, in turn is very pleased with turn, admires the Dawn Bringer's own dedication to his role in maintaining the day-and-night cycle. Dung Defender He even made two sculptures of Khepri, one made in the likeness of his human-with-scarab-head form, and other one in the likeness of his full scarab form, and offered them as a gift to him, gift, which he Khepri gladly accepted. Both sculptures are still kept in the Dawn Bringer's temple to this very day, preserved and taken care of, much to other deities' chagrin, as they can barely stomach the foul stench of refuse produced by these "gifts".chagrin.

Unlike Dung Defender, who continued holding on to hope that, one day, Hallownest will be reborn, glorious and bright, the Knight of Despair ended up falling into permanent despair and succumbed to the corruption, and as such, he feels pity for her and hopes that one day, she may be able to rediscover the hope she lost. The knight in turn respects the Defender for his UndyingLoyalty to his kingdom, and holds him in high regard, especially given how he turned out in the end when compared to her. The fact that she doesn't mind his odour was also appreciated by the beetle. It was then that she discovered a new cause. Her efforts to bring a long-neglected garden back to life leads to her own redemption and character growth.
** It was because of this that she proceeded to tell her story to the Main House as well as the House of Nature. Eventually, she was ascended because of her actions back in Misselthwaite Manor.

The two bonded over their similar backgrounds (both of them being born in India but later transplanted to England) and their status as orphans who bring redemption to the families that bring them to their homes.
* Pollyanna is another orphan that Mary befriended as she noted how she can find something to be happy about even in the worst situations.
* She sympathizes with those who have suffered ParentalNeglect and/or ParentalAbandonment, such as N and Hilda. She especially feels sorry for James Henry Trotter after hearing how he was brought to live with his evil step-aunts after his parents were killed through a rampaging rhinoceros.
** She also became friends with [[FriendlessBackground those who have a lack of friends in the beginning]], such including WALL-E (whose only friend prior to his encounter with EVE was a cockroach) and Amélie Poulain (who was [[HomeschooledKids homeschooled as a young girl]]). She also gets along with E.T. after learning about his friendship with Elliott. The House of Friendship is always open for her as well, and she was greeted with a party from the Avatars of Friendship.
* She became friends with Wally as [[IllBoy his situation]] reminds her of her cousin Colin Craven, she at least notes that Wally wasn't as spoiled like her cousin was in the beginning.
* Despite being a SpoiledBrat in the past, she avoids hanging out with Princess Morbucks as well as the Reagans as she finds their attitudes to be a bit too much. Charlotte Labouf is great to hang out with though, due to being the Princess of the SpoiledSweet, and the two read stories in Mary's garden every now and then.
** She also doesn’t like Lady Tremaine for being a horrible stepmother. Same goes for Ghetsis for what he did to the aforementioned N.
* Her connections with the Secret Garden have drew the attention of Flowey, who convinced her that he is her best friend. However, when Mary learned about what he did with the other children he encountered, she does her best to stay away from him.

* She became friends with Fluttershy and allowed her to visit her garden as her [[FriendToAllLivingThings personality]] reminded her of her friend Dickon. She's not sure what to think of Discord though, but she'll be sure to befriend him soon enough.
* For some reason, she is on good terms with Greymane as they both acted like jerks in the beginning before changing into their kinder selves.
* Found her way in the House of Combat one day, hearing the rumors of a rose garden in a temple. There, she found the temple of British boxer, Dudley, and asked him if it was possible if she could "have a bit of earth." Mary Lennox was orphaned grew up in India, pampered by servants. Her neglectful parents had not wanted her parents’ death (either by cholera epidemic or earthquake, depending on and did her best to ignore her, leading the telling), servants to cave to her every whim so she would not bother the masters. Then they died, leaving Mary an orphan. She was sent to live with her uncle’s absent uncle, Lord Craven, at Misselthwaite Manor at in Yorkshire. At Faced with much stricter and more dour conditions, Mary at first she felt sad and lonely, but she later found herself also intrigued with by the house’s house's secrets, including her bedridden cousin Colin and a garden that was long abandoned. It was then that she discovered a new cause. Lord Craven's late wife had cared for the garden and it had fallen into disrepair after her death, as Lord Craven, in his grief, could not muster the interest to care about it, nor even care about his son Colin who seemed fated to die young. Mary adopted the garden as her secret place, and caring for it made her life at the manor much more bearable. Her efforts to bring a long-neglected garden back to life leads led to her own redemption and character growth.

growth: for her, who went from a selfish brat to a caring and independent girl, for Lord Craven, who could finally overcome his grief and properly love his son, and for Colin, who abandoned his delusions of sickness and willed himself to become strong.
* Mary
was because of this in her garden, tending to it as usual, when she came across a mysterious being, the Spring Sprite. While the Sprite couldn't really speak to her, Mary saw that she proceeded seemed to tell admire the garden very much and couldn't help but boast about how she'd taken such good care of it after it had been neglected for so long. With a bit of help from Dickon and Colin, of course. Mary is very proud of her story secret garden, in any case, and the Spring Sprite was impressed enough to beckon Mary to follow her. Mary curiously did so, following a path through the maze she hadn't noticed before, and that's how she wound up in the Spring Sprite's temple in the Pantheon. Mary thought the Spring Sprite's dwellings really put her garden to shame, but the Sprite seemed to have a different opinion. The Sprite asked the Main House as well as to ascend Mary, a request that was acquiesced to once they saw the House of Nature. Eventually, she great meaning that Mary's garden holds for her and her family.
* It
was ascended because of her actions back in Misselthwaite Manor.
* She can’t help but pay a visit to Sara Crewe’s temple, mainly because their stories share
perhaps [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frances_Hodgson_Burnett an inevitability]] for her to meet Sara Crewe; Sara was certainly stoked to meet someone whom she was told she had a closer connection to than she could guess. The two became quick friends, given they're the same author]]. The two bonded over their age, come from the same culture and share similar backgrounds upbringing (both of them being having been born and raised in India but later only to be transplanted to England) and England due to various circumstances), in addition to the pain they went through when they lost their status as orphans who families (or thought they lost in Sara's case). Despite their sufferings, they both managed to pucker up and bring joy to the homes they were placed in, as well as redemption to the families that bring them to their homes.

people around them. Pollyanna is another orphan Whittier and Anne Shirley were also quickly added to her growing list of friends for similar reasons, forming a circle of likeminded people. It's generally agreed that as positive as Mary befriended as has become, she noted how she can find something is still the surliest (some would say the most down-to-earth instead) among these girls (which isn't a bad thing as it balances them out a bit).
** A later addition
to be happy about even the group was Heidi, who was first discovered by Mary in the worst situations.
* She sympathizes
secret garden, with those the bright-eyed little Swiss girl having stumbled her way there by the will of the Pantheon. The meeting was probably fated as the two had some very remarkable similarities, being friends with a formerly wheelchair-bound child who have suffered ParentalNeglect and/or ParentalAbandonment, such they helped get better, as N well as with a boy who taught them lots of things about nature and Hilda. She especially feels sorry for animals. Once Heidi properly ascended, she became an obvious addition to Mary's established circle of friends.
* One of her first male friends made in the Pantheon turned out to be
James Henry Trotter after hearing how his parents were killed by a rhinoceros and he was brought to live with his evil step-aunts after his parents step-aunts, who treated him like a slave and were killed through a rampaging rhinoceros.
** She also became
entirely willing to kill him to conceal their abuse. While Mary has heard some of her other friends like Sara Crewe say they were forced into labor, the extremes that James' aunts were willing to take were quite new and shocking to her. She's all the happier that James still managed to find his happy ending with [[FriendlessBackground those who have a lack the help of his friends in despite his particularly terrible circumstances. Speaking of said friends, James endeavored to show her the beginning]], such including WALL-E (whose only friend prior crocodile tongues that made them and a peach enormous, thinking she might like to apply them to her garden. Mary thinks it's fun to imagine what would happen, but given her garden is contained in a maze, she feels attempting to create anything larger than normal there would lead to disaster.
* She is sometimes called upon other deities to take care of other gardens and show just how good she can be at it. Through this, she has sometimes teamed up with fellow gardener Chance, leading to them becoming friends eventually. Given Chance has a childlike manner of thinking and gardening is quite literally
his entire life, he gets along pretty easily with Mary and the two often get involved in conversations about gardening that last for hours, admittedly with Chance doing most of the talking. Mary takes all he says to heart and feels she always learns a lot of useful new things for her garden in her talks with Chance.
* Her well-kept garden has led to an unusual
encounter with a couple of strange yet oddly cute creatures made of metal who seemed very interest in the garden despite the fact that nothing about themselves was organic. Mary would learn that these creatures were called robots and those specific two are WALL-E and EVE, who come from a future planet Earth that was completely ravaged by pollution and was just beginning to see the first signs of plant life in a long time, likely thanks to WALL-E dilligently cleaning the planet from trash for centuries. While she finds it upsetting to hear what the world might come to in the future, Mary rejoiced on hearing that there is still hope for a better future and it was signalled by one little sprout tucked away in a boot, which WALL-E and EVE did their best to protect. Because of this, Mary welcomes the two lovebird robots into her temple as honorary gardeners of sorts.
* Another bizarre creature that showed a strong interest in her garden
was a cockroach) ET, an alien botanist. Mary at first would say that he's frankly quite ugly to look at, but she changed her mind and Amélie Poulain (who was [[HomeschooledKids homeschooled as a young girl]]). She also gets along with E.T. incredibly amazed by the alien after learning she saw him bring a wilted flower back to life seemingly just with the power of his mind. Being a botanist, ET is in fact quite interested in studying Mary's garden and shows scientific interest in how gardens or just the sight of a tiny plant can affect people psychologically, finding the case of the secret garden to be a particularly fascinating object to study. Mary's stance is that he's welcome to come around whenever he wants, especially after hearing about his general goodwill towards humans and particularly his friendship with Elliott. The House of Friendship is always open for her as well, and she was greeted with a party from the Avatars of Friendship.
human boy called Elliott.
* She became friends with Wally as [[IllBoy his situation]] reminds her is very ashamed of her cousin Colin Craven, she at least notes that Wally wasn't as spoiled like her cousin was in the beginning.
* Despite being
having been a SpoiledBrat in the past, and while she avoids hanging out with feels she should help others overcome this flaw before it consumes them and completely warp their view of the world, as she once helped Colin, she has come to realize that there are some who are beyond help, having no willingness to change their ways. This includes Princess Morbucks Morbucks, as well as the Reagans as she finds their attitudes Reagans, with Mary finding them to be a bit too much. intolerable even compared to how she herself used to be, since they will actively try to hurt others for whatever capricious reason. Charlotte Labouf [=LaBouff=] is great to hang out with though, due to being the Princess of the SpoiledSweet, and as even though she is obviously very spoiled even into her adult years, she is a legitimately good person who thinks about other people's feelings; the two read stories in Mary's garden every now and then.
**
then. She also doesn’t like met Pacifica Northwest, who was extremely haughty for a large part of her young life because of her parents' bad influence, but fortunately that changed thanks to the Pines twins. Mary can certainly relate to being brought down from a high horse and knows how both painful and self-improving that can be, leading her to become pretty close friends with Pacifica.
* She absolutely hates
Lady Tremaine for being an incredibly callous and selfish mother who raised two spoiled brats of her own, encouraging their bad behavior and yet at the same time treating them like her minions and a horrible stepmother. Same goes stepladder to a more comfortable life for Ghetsis herself. Nor can Mary forgive Tremaine for what he did turning Cinderella, her stepdaughter, into her personal cleaning lady and forcing her to do whatever task she could think of, all to put her down. Even Mrs. Medlock didn't treat Mary like that, even if she was rigid and unkind to her a lot of the aforementioned N.
* Her connections with the Secret Garden have drew the attention of Flowey, who convinced her
time. It's a good thing that he is Cinderella eventually found an escape from her best friend. However, when clutches, but Mary learned is personally happier about what Anastasia, one of Tremaine's spoiled daughters, realizing how unhappy she was and making an effort to grow out of it and find her own way in life, away from her controlling mother.
* Occasionally catches a glimpse of Flowey peeking at her garden before retreating underground when
he did with realizes he's been spotted. Mary has heard of the many atrocities Flowey committed or attempted to commit in the Underground, including attempts to murder children for the hell of it, so she is very wary of him. On the other children he encountered, hand, she does also knows about his tragic past as Asriel Dreemurr and being killed by humans, and she feels intensely sorry for him in that capacity. [[spoiler:Turns out, she need not fear Flowey at all, since he has actually reformed in the Pantheon, but that is a secret known to only a few and she is not included in that circle as of currently. His interest in her best is due to stay away from him.
* Every now
her having taken such obvious good care of her garden, and then, he wonders if they could someday be friends. He doesn't take it kindly when someone threatens Mary.]]
* Has a healthy business relationship with
Crazy Dave would supply Dave, who generously supplies her with gardening tools all sorts of things she might need for her garden at prices that he sells at stupid low prices. Sometimes, he'll even provide [[VideoGame/PlantsVsZombies Bloom and Doom Seed Co. plants]] everyone considers a steal, including plants to serve as sentries.
* She became friends with Fluttershy and allowed her to visit her garden as her [[FriendToAllLivingThings personality]] reminded her of her friend Dickon. She's not sure what to think of Discord though, but she'll be sure to befriend him soon enough.
* For
sentries against some reason, she zombie invasion or another Mary keeps hearing him rave about but has yet to experience personally. Seeing his kindness, Mary is on good terms with Greymane as they both acted like jerks in the beginning before changing into their kinder selves.
grateful to him and polite enough not to make remarks on his bizarre behavior to his face or to anyone else.
* Found Against all odds, this little girl found her way in inside the House of Combat one day, day after hearing the rumors of a rose garden in a temple. one of its temples. There, she found met the temple of British boxer, boxer Dudley, and admired his well-cared for rose garden. She then asked him if it was possible if she could "have a bit of earth." earth" so she could have a patch of roses in her own garden. Dudley graciously agreed, being glad to spread the beauty of roses all around, and ever since, Mary comes every now and then to take care of his prized roses. Elena joins her every now temple to talk about the progress on that rose patch and then, and the two are seen having play-dates.
