* The cast of ''Shape Island'' became this due to the shift in medium. The books were in 2D while the show is 3D, mean Square is a cube, Circle is a sphere, and Triangle is a pyramid.

* {{Claymation}} is done using Plasticine® -- clay would dry out and harden.

* ''[[WesternAnimation/RockyAndBullwinkle Aesop and Son]]'': In one cartoon, Aesop tells his son a fable called "The Aardvark and the Lion", which was really about a cruel lion dealing with a pesky moth. At the of the fable, when Junior tried to inquire where the aardvark came in, Aesop brushed it off.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheAngryBeavers'': Only half of the eponymous beaver duo is actually angry. Norbert is pretty laid-back with a long fuse most of the time, [[PolarOppositeTwins in contrast to his excitable and hot-tempered brother Dagget]], though even Norb [[RageBreakingPoint has his limits]].

* ''WesternAnimation/{{Centaurworld}}'': "[[Recap/CentaurworldS1E6HolesPart2 Holes, Part 2]]" has its own name -- there is no "Holes: Part 1" for this to be a continuation of.
* ''WesternAnimation/ClassOf3000'': Sounds like it's about high school seniors in the future, not a music teacher played by [[Music/OutKast André 3000]].

On the other end, the original airdate of the episode occurred in 2009. 2008 was the year it likely was produced in, but as is it has nothing to do with either the episode's content or its reception.

** "22 Short Films About Springfield" actually has only 19 segments. Well, it would've been 20 if Professor Frink's segment hadn't been cut off by the end credits. Or, 17 segments if you counted Lisa's three-part story as one.
** The title of "A Milhouse Divided" refers to Milhouse's parents breaking up, but Milhouse himself isn't really focused upon throughout the episode.
** Despite the title of "The PTA Disbands", at no point does the PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) actually disband, which they hilariously lampshade:

* Similar to Squidward above, a 1960s Hanna-Barbera character ''WesternAnimation/SquiddlyDiddly'' is an octopus, in spite of his name.

* ''WesternAnimation/TheGrimAdventuresOfBillyAndMandy'' has an episode titled "[[IncredibleShrinkingMan The Incredible Shrinking Mandy]]." It's actually about Mandy ''[[AttackOfThe50FootWhatever growing]]'' uncontrollably.

* PlayedWith concerning the titular protagonist of ''WesternAnimation/CourageTheCowardlyDog''. On the one hand, it seems to be PlayedStraight considering that a dog named "Courage" is afraid of pretty much everything. On the other hand, the things that terrorize Courage (monsters, aliens, psychopaths, etc.) are things that would frighten any rational person. Also, no matter how terrified Courage is, he'll face any danger to save his family, which is the exact ''definition'' of "courage". The truth is that the word "Cowardly" is the non-indicative part.

* ''WesternAnimation/HeyArnold'' plays with this, when a DrillSergeantNasty SadistTeacher notes that [[TroublingUnchildlikeBehavior Curly]]'s hair isn't curly and [[LogicalFallacies demands to know his real name]]. The odd thing is, [[TheCuckoolanderWasRight he's right]]--Curly's real first name is [[EmbarrassingFirstName Thaddeus]].

Then again, humorbending doesn't exactly have the same ring to it. Similarly, Metalbending doesn't control metal directly, but instead the impurities of earth left behind in it (which is why bending doesn't work on more purified metals like platinum in ''WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra'').

* ''WesternAnimation/ClassOf3000'': Sounds like it's about high school seniors in the future, not a music teacher played by [[Music/OutKast André 3000]]

* ''WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes'': The opening theme for the Buddy, Beans Gang, and early Porky Pig shorts is titled "Beauty and the Beast", but its use predates [[WesternAnimation/BeautyAndTheBeast1934 the Merrie Melodies short of the same name]](its actual title song is completely different), which itself has little if any connection to the classic fairy tale.

* From ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitans'' the H.I.V.E. Five actually had ''six'' members in their third appearance, as Kid Flash quickly noticed.

** In the [[WesternAnimation/TheTransformers G1]] episode "Enter the Nightbird", the character who needs help jumping up a cliff is the guy named Cliffjumper.
** Bluestreak is silver, and not blue. Ironically, the Diaclone toy he was redecoed from ''was'' blue, and his packaging art showed him as being blue. Due to trademark problems, he was temporarily renamed "Silverstreak" in the 2000's, which fits better. [[SubvertedTrope But]] his thing is that he never shuts up; he talks a blue streak. "Silverstreak" just describes his color and implies that he's fast.

* ''WesternAnimation/RickAndMorty'': In "The Whirly Dirly Conspiracy", Summer accidentally [[AttackOfThe50FootWhatever turns herself into a giant]] when using Rick's growth ray to increase her breast size. Against Morty's advice, Beth attempts to fix the problem herself, but makes things worse because the machine's settings are a case of this; when she sets it to "normal", Summer expands through the garage. When she sets it to "reverse", it turns Summer inside out.

** Countess Coloratura, Creator/LenaHall's character from ''[[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS5E24TheManeAttraction The Mane Attraction]]'', is a mezzo soprano, and definitely not a countess either.
