* It was pretty obvious that the innies weren't going to fight off the Covenant, but to call it a curb-stomp battle in the Covenant's favor (at least until the Spartans show up) would be an understatement. The weapons the innies use are pretty much ineffective against the Elites' shields, so they can do little but waste their ammo while the Elites clear them out like it's nothing. It gives a pretty ugly but realistic picture of how screwed everyone who was not a well-equipped and trained soldier, much less a Spartan, was when encountering these aliens.
