* ''MythologyGag/GoGoSentaiBoukenger''

* ''Series/GoGoSentaiBoukenger:'' For the 30th anniversary series of the franchise, every mecha and villain, from the lowest mook to the biggest bad, is a ShoutOut to various HumongousMecha from prior ''Super Sentai'' shows.
** The ending of almost every episode, starting with episode 4, had a 30-second tribute to a Super Sentai crew of years past - and then went on to make special mentions of firsts in the franchise, such as the most notable SixthRanger characters in addition to the first. It ended with ''Series/JukenSentaiGekiranger'', the next season, as the last segment.
** The title might be a shout-out to the ''Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers'' theme song, "Go Go Power Rangers".
** Of note, the only series whose mecha got no 'enemy representative' is [[Series/DaiSentaiGoggleFive Goggle V]]. However, Boukenger still gives them ShoutOut in form of any of their mecha's [[TransformationNameAnnouncement completion quote]], "''(insert mecha name here), Gattai Kanryou (Combination Complete)!''"
** The arc where Natsuki's origins are revealed contains plenty of connections to previous yellows. [[spoiler:First off, she's the princess of Lemuria, which is the civilization represented by [[Series/DaiSentaiGoggleFive Goggle Yellow]]. And her parents? [[Series/GoseiSentaiDairanger Kirin Ranger]] and [[Series/DenjiSentaiMegaranger Mega Yellow]].]] And aside of that, she also has more similarities with other Yellows, she's a BigEater like [[Series/HimitsuSentaiGoranger Kiranger]] and [[Series/TaiyouSentaiSunVulcan Vul Panther]] and uses a bulldozer for her combiner vehicle like [[Series/GekisouSentaiCarranger Yellow Racer]].

** Episode 14 showcased a couple of ''[[Series/ResshaSentaiToQger ToQger]]'' references, namely SL Jamen exclaiming "Full speed ahead!" and both Juru and Takamichi ending up in a bathhouse. Takamichi, while bathing, also states that [[Series/KishiryuSentaiRyusoulger "Limits were meant to be broken."]] Interestingly, we'd later see it reversed to make these {{Contrasting Sequel Main Character}}s to the Ryusoulgers: after a MacGuffin gave the monster a DeadlyUpgrade while a new villainess did the same for the grunts, the Kiramagers took it as a lesson that limits ''definitely'' exist. The Kiramagers wouldn't go past theirs and destroy themselves for the sake of one battle, so instead of using the MacGuffin directly, they use it to power a SuperMode that has [[HourOfPower a time limit]] before it shuts down to protect the user.

* ''Series/TokumeiSentaiGobusters''
** ''Go-Busters'' takes a lot of cues from ''Franchise/PowerRangers'', apparently paying tribute to Saban's show on the eve of its 20th anniversary. Some of the specifics:
*** The use of "It's morphin time!" and "Megazord".
*** [[StockSuperpowers Civilian powers]] (from several Disney-era seasons, particularly ''[[Series/PowerRangersDinoThunder Dino Thunder]]'' and ''[[Series/PowerRangersOperationOverdrive Operation Overdrive]]''). Further, the Busters got their civilian powers and were chosen to be Rangers because their parents are the ones who engineered the tech - right out of ''[[Series/PowerRangersSPD SPD]]''.
*** Sunglasses as henshin devices (from ''Series/PowerRangersJungleFury'').
*** An evil computer virus as the BigBad (from ''Series/PowerRangersRPM''). Also, being a SealedEvilInACan who commands the Vaglass as a disembodied head, he's more or less an evil version of [[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers Zordon]].
*** The team takes their helmets off somewhat regularly, which does happen in ''Franchise/SuperSentai'' (in ''Go-Onger'' for example), but is ''much'' more common in ''Power Rangers''.
*** And the current arc, with [[YouCantThwartStageOne Enter successfully getting some of the items he was after,]] is awfully similar to the major arc of ''Series/PowerRangersSPD'', with Gruumm and Morgana getting one item after another in order to unleash their own BigBad SealedEvilInACan.
*** That the gold member of the team is an eccentric genius scientist believed lost when the BigBad was unleashed, but turns out not only to still be alive, but in possession of powers brings to mind [[Series/PowerRangersRPM Gem]], only (hopefully) less insane.
*** The Monster Making Method, which involves using completely random items like Forks and Drills, is something that has repeatedly been used in many Power Ranger seasons.
** The Buster Machines seem to be a mash-up of the [[Series/EngineSentaiGoOnger Engines]] (animal/vehicle gimmick) and the [[Series/TensouSentaiGoseiger Gosei Machines]] (removable head gimmick).
*** Speaking of ''Go-Onger'', Ryuji is pretty much an {{Expy}} of [[TeamMom Ren/Go-On Blue]] (but deconstructing the BewareTheNiceOnes concept).
** The name and the spy theme itself seems to be a homage to ''Series/HimitsuSentaiGoranger''. Yoko's name could also be considered a homage to EAGLE Agent 007, whose given name was also Yoko.
** Only the second gorilla Ranger in Sentai history, Blue Buster shares his color with the first, that is [[Series/SeijuuSentaiGingaman Ginga Blue]].
** GT-02 using banana projectiles to attack is [[Series/HyakujuuSentaiGaoranger nothing new]].
** Neither is Ace using a sword to attack even when in vehicle mode. That would go to the [[Series/TokusouSentaiDekaranger Pat Striker]].
** Apparently Enter's habit of repeating words thrice came from [[Series/TensouSentaiGoseiger Kinggon]]. Did Messiah get his temper?
** The end of the DancingTheme shows everyone in a very [[Series/GekisouSentaiCarranger familiar pose]].
** Go-Buster Beet takes its cues from ''Series/KyukyuSentaiGoGoV's'' Red Ladder (and by extension, the Victory Robo itself), since they both have extendable arms. BC-04 even resembles the Red Ladder's base design, despite being based on different vehicles (BC-04 Beetle is a crane, Red Ladder is a firetruck).
** BC-04's placement in the Great Go-Buster formation is the same as [[Series/NinpuuSentaiHurricaneger Gorai Beetle]] in the [=TenraiSenpuujin=]; remember that they're based on the same animal.
*** Tategami Lio also brings to mind Series/NinpuuSentaiHurricaneger - sharing the spinning mane of Yellow's mecha, has a bluish-purple color scheme, and is driven by Red.
** Two in #42. The MonsterOfTheWeek [[Series/SamuraiSentaiShinkenger claims its victims by hurling insults at them]], and [[Series/TokusouSentaiDekaranger not only is Yoko stuck in a hostage situation in the creature's vehicle form, but she's singing the exact same song that Umeko did!]]
** Each Gobuster has a comparable [[Series/ChoushinseiFlashman Flashman]] - Hiromu, Ryuji, and Yoko have powers corresponding to Bun, Dai, and Lou; Masato Jin and Jin[=/=]Red Flash have comparable personal scenarios (being the oldest member of the team and being the most knowledgable about science, having been removed from the Earth, [[spoiler: suffering deadly consequences after being removed from their alternate Earth]]); lastly, Beet J Stag and Sara Tokimura and Beet J Stag are the odd ones out, having different powers and different personal scenarios...but they do possess a part of their name that none of their teammates have[[note]]last name for Sara, middle initial for Beet J Stag[[/note]].
* ''Series/DoubutsuSentaiZyuohger:'' Being the 40th anniversary of Franchise/SuperSentai, there are several:
** Zyuoh Eagle, Shark and Lion are a loose one towards to ''Series/TaiyouSentaiSunVulcan'' and ''Series/ChoujuuSentaiLiveman'', landing somewhere in the middle [[note]]''Sun Vulcan'' had a eagle, shark and panther for Red, Yellow and Blue, whereas ''Liveman'' had a falcon, lion and dolphin--especially funny since two of the five previous official female Blue Rangers were dolphins.[[/note]].
*** Additionally, the operatic announcement of the Cube Animals resembles the chorus of Sun Vulcan's opening theme.
** The series was billed as a SpiritualSuccessor to ''Series/HyakujuuSentaiGaoranger.'' Despite the eagle and lion swapping Red and Yellow, there's still a White Tiger Ranger thrown into the mix. The helmet TransformationSequence is similar as well.
*** The World is pretty much one to [=GaoSilver=]. They share two of the three animals of his motif and start out as villains.
** The mecha's combining sequence (assuming an alternate form and stacking one on top of the other) may be a reference to ''Series/ChourikiSentaiOhranger'' and [=OhBlocker=] (AKA the [[Series/PowerRangersZeo Super Zeo Megazord]]), which uses a similar "stacking" combining sequence.
*** Speaking of the mecha, [[Series/ZyudenSentaiKyoryuger starting off the series with a five-person team whose combined mecha only requires 3 of the members to make, resulting in two base mecha and the red ranger's personal mecha comprising most of the combined mech]].
** Each of the Deathgaliens are inspired by the designs of one or more of previous Sentai villains, which are usually monsters of the week for the monsters of the week while Jaged resembles [[Series/JukenSentaiGekiranger Makirika]] and [[Series/MahouSentaiMagiranger Heavenly Saint Raigel]], Nalia resembles [[Series/KaizokuSentaiGokaiger Insarn]] and [[Series/TensouSentaiGoseiger Metal Alice]], Azald has similarities to [[Series/NinjaSentaiKakuranger Noppera-bo]], Quval has similarities to [[Series/ChoujuuSentaiLiveman Study Brain]] and [[Series/BattleFeverJ Study Monster]] and Ginis resembles [[Series/BakuryuuSentaiAbaranger DezumoGevirus]] and the first form of [[Series/NinpuuSentaiHurricaneger Tau Zant]].
** While not technically a Deathgalien, Bangray also happens to resemble [[Film/TokumeiSentaiGobustersVsKaizokuSentaiGokaigerTheMovie Bacchus Gill]] and [[Series/KaizokuSentaiGokaiger Deratsueigar]]. Incidentally, he plays a key role in the Gokaiger crossover episodes while the Deathgaliens did not.
** Ep. 14 has someone mentioning an exhibition of five precious stones from ancient civilizations... were they on loan from ''Series/DaiSentaiGoggleFive''?
** Both of the ''Series/KaizokuSentaiGokaiger'' crossover episodes have an updated version of Super Sentai Hero Getter, Gokaiger's end theme, which lists off all the Super Sentai teams through multiple verses that normally takes a few episodes to go through, though this version just has two.
** The first Gokai Change seen in the 2000th episode of Super Sentai is naturally [=GokaiRed=] becoming [[Series/HimitsuSentaiGoranger AkaRanger]].
** The Gokaigers do two more all red changes.
*** Notably Luka uses the regular [=ShinkenRed=] key as opposed to the Hime [=ShinkenRed=] key with the resulting form also resembling Kaoru's [=ShinkenRed=] form.
** The Wild Tousai Dodeca King's final attack [[spoiler:(first seen when Bangray is destroyed for good in Ep. 35)]] has all Zyuoh Cubes rush him at once, with their respective numbers appearing - and then a lot of unseen Zyuoh Cubes start attacking him, raising the counter rapidly all the way to 100, clearly referring to the 100 Beasts from ''Series/HyakujuuSentaiGaoranger''.
** Episode 36's MonsterOfTheWeek is samba themed, just like a [[Series/ZyudenSentaiKyoryuger certain dinosaur Sentai.]]
** The Zyuoh King Octopus is functionally very similar to [[Series/NinpuuSentaiHurricaneger Fuuraimaru]].
** In Episode 44, Mario [[spoiler:makes his own Zyuohger costume, which is pink, exposes most of his face, and doesn't give him superpowers.]] This refers to [[spoiler:Emiri's [=AbarePink=] costume from ''Series/BakuryuuSentaiAbaranger''.]]
** In the crossover with ''Ninninger'', [[Series/ChoujuuSentaiLiveman Red Falcon]] leads the gathering of every previous Red Ranger, having done so before in ''[[Series/HyakujuuSentaiGaoranger Gaoranger vs Super Sentai]]''; Gao Red is now standing right next to him.
* ''Series/KishiryuSentaiRyusoulger''
** Gaisoulg's appearance, sword and shield style, and EvilCounterpart status reflects [[Series/MahouSentaiMagiranger Wolzard]], [[spoiler: while being [[ArtifactOfDoom Cursed Armor]] that inflicts DemonicPossession on its wearer is similar to [[Series/BakuryuuSentaiAbaranger the Armour of Darkness]] and [[Series/ZyudenSentaiKyoryuger Dogold]]]].
** Right off the bat there are nods to ''Series/KyoryuSentaiZyuranger'', with our heroes coming from an ancient tribe and having a LimitedWardrobe with just their "tribal" garments. They're even OlderThanTheyLook. Both ''Zyuranger'' and ''Ryusoulger'' also have [[MonsterOfTheWeek Monsters of the Week]] based on mythological creatures.
** The series pays homage to ''Series/ZyudenSentaiKyoryuger''.
*** ''Kyoryuger'' also had a female ankylosaurus Ranger, who was even referred to as "Strong Lady" in-universe.
*** All Ryusoulgers can use an armored form similar to the Kyoryugers, except that every Ryusoul creates differently shaped armor on top of the unique special move granted.
** Ryusoul Black's visor has a similar shape with [[Series/TensouSentaiGoseiger Gosei Black's]].
** The first episode describes the Kishiryu as a [[Series/KaizokuSentaiGokaiger "greater power".]]
** The title of episode 5 is "[[Series/TokusouSentaiDekaranger Hell's Guard Dog]]".
** Episode 6 is not the first time [[Series/NinjaSentaiKakuranger a food truck played a major role.]]
** In the same episode, Koh deliberately lets the Minusaur get close enough to bite him, just so he can snap off one of its fangs. Not to stab it with, but you know [[Series/SamuraiSentaiShinkenger ShinkenRed]] would be proud.
** The final fight of episode 8 calls back to certain past Pinks singing as a plot point, like ''Series/TokusouSentaiDekaranger'' and the V-Cinema for ''Series/SamuraiSentaiShinkenger''. Except it's an outright parody, as Asuna's singing is ''[[HollywoodToneDeaf terrible.]]''
** Episode 9 has Melto having an argument with Asuna regarding of thinking/planning ahead and having strategy vs. being headstrong and acting first since thinking can be susceptible to attacks. [[Series/DoubutsuSentaiZyuohger Leo and Tusk]] had that same argument, only in this case, Melto tells her and Koh that having a strategy is important while telling them that he trusts them.
** Episode 10 shows Asuna having [[Series/UchuSentaiKyuranger Lucky]] level fortune.
** Wiserue's catchphrase ("It's showtime") and gimmick (driving Minusaur victims to the DespairEventHorizon) is pretty much a homage to ''Series/KamenRiderWizard''. Episode 11 even features him kidnapping a character named ''Haruto''.
** One ability of the Shen Minosaur is that it can utilize an illusionary effect on the Rangers and perceive their visions much like [[Series/JukenSentaiGekiranger Kata]] did.
** Episode 15 features the MonsterOfTheWeek possessing magnetic powers and using them to "break the bonds between people", much like in Episode 11 of ''Series/GoseiSentaiDairanger''.
** Episode 18 has Kleon with some Drunn Soldiers forming a track and them saying [[Series/ResshaSentaiToQger "Now departing!"]]
** Gigant [=KishiRyuOh's=] Gigant Double Bite bears some resemblance with [[Series/NinjaSentaiKakuranger Kakure Daishogun's Iron Fist God Finish]].
** Also from that same episode, Canalo's reaction to Kouze revealing that she's married involves some [[Series/KamenRiderZiO robotic movements and sound effects not unlike Rento Makina/Kamen Rider Kikai or the Humanoise]].
** Episode 21's plot features the dead -- including old enemies and the protagonists' loved ones -- being seemingly resurrected, which also happened in episode 24 of ''Series/DoubutsuSentaiZyuohger''.
** [[Series/ZyudenSentaiKyoryuger Gigant]] Kishiryu-Oh eh? The [[Series/ChoujinSentaiJetman fist]]-[[Series/KaizokuSentaiGokaiger bump]] gattai sequence has also been done before. That double-punch hissatsu? [[Series/NinjaSentaiKakuranger Seems oddly familiar...]]
** [=ShineRaptor=] and [=ShadowRaptor=] are black and white velociraptors that combine side-by-side, bringing to mind Series/KamenRiderDouble [=FangJoker=] - not only is the Fang Memory a velociraptor, but the black and white colors are on the same respective sides. ''Sentai''-wise they are one to [[Series/HyakujuuSentaiGaoRanger GaoBear and GaoPolar]], both being black and white SiblingYinYang mecha, the raptors being light/darkness rather than the Gaos' ice/fire.
** The Golem Minosaur's EXP value (506) is the same as the Hazard Level of another Golem-themed monster from ''Series/GoGoSentaiBoukenger''.
*** It goes two levels deep when you get into the premise of that arc - the Minusaur and its abilities are based off the Death Dopant, which appeared with Double [=FangJoker=] in ''Movie Wars 2010'', which also features Miyu Sawai (Master Pink) in a vital role.
** The Kanae Soul and its ability to grant ''any'' wish nods back to all the times this sort of MacGuffin reared its head, like ''Series/KaizokuSentaiGokaiger''.
** Episode 26 has a sea-creature Minusaur that's covered in eyes and able to see incoming attacks from any angle, which is basically Ikagen from ''Kyuranger'' all over again.
*** From the same episode, Koh shielded Nada from the Dodomeki Minosaur's effect, turning him berserk from his happiness yanked from him and eventually having the resolve to recover, with flashbacks of him and his friends that helped him calm down, bringing to mind when [[Series/SeijuuSentaiGingaman Ryouma was affected by the Art of Deception.]]
** Episode 28 has Asuna enduring an extreme amount of excruciating pain [[spoiler:while the Beelzebub Minosaur was inside her]] and being forced to rest so she can recover [[Series/KamenRiderExAid not unlike a Bugster-infected patient]] while Koh and Melto [[Series/ChoujinSentaiJetman shrink themselves and enter inside her in an attempt save her.]]
** Towards the end of episode 30, Koh gets attacked from the back with the following episode has him obtaining a new power, sort of like what happened with [[Series/UchuSentaiKyuranger Lucky]].
** Episode 31 brings a few ''[[Series/ZyudenSentaiKyoryuger Kyoryuger]]'' references, such as Koh's fight against Gaisoulg at some point involves him being shirtless, him using [=HieHie=] Soul bringing to mind Kyoryu Gold, and [=YokuRyuOh=] having the same motif and similar attacks to [=Pteraiden-Oh=].
*** The Fairy Minosaur from that same episode bears some resemblance with a [[Series/KamenRiderKiva Sabbat]].
*** The giant fight scene contains ice and snow, similar with [[Series/BakuryuuSentaiAbaranger Abaranger's summer movie]] and [[Series/TensouSentaiGoseiger Epic 3 of Goseiger]].
*** After Oto is saved, she's seen jumping off of Pterardon in the same fashion as ''Series/ChoujinSentaiJetman''.
** The Max Ryusoul Changer bears some design similarities with the [[Series/JukenSentaiGekiranger Super [=GekiClaw=]]] while [[Series/BakuryuuSentaiAbaranger giving the Red a new form containing the word "Max"]] and being a hand-held weapon that can accommodate 2 collectibles like the [[Series/KamenRiderBuild Twin Breaker]].
** [[spoiler: Nada's RedemptionEqualsDeath and passing on his powers to Koh to become his SuperMode has shades of similarity to [[Series/KyoryuSentaiZyuranger Burai's death and passing on his Dragon Armor to Geki]] for his SuperMode.]]
** The trials in general seem to bring to mind of [[Series/ZyudenSentaiKyoryuger Tessai's lessons to the six Kyoryugers.]] Both scenarios even have the Reds learning the hard way of being stronger through overcoming their personal challenges and being the last to finish them.
** Towa and Bamba climb a mountain to reach the area of where they start their trials, similar with [[Series/JukenSentaiGekiranger Lesson 10 of Gekiranger]] and [[Series/KaizokuSentaiGokaiger episode 22 of Gokaiger.]]
** Seto's trial for Melto in episode 35 is a challenge that emphasizes [[Series/MahouSentaiMagiranger courage]].
** Episode 36's VictimOfTheWeek is a [[Series/EngineSentaiGoOnger woman named Saki who just so happens to be a racer.]] For an added bonus, Towa's first human friend in episode 5 was named Sanae and befriends Saki in the episode.
** Kyoko Taniguchi, episode 37's VictimOfTheWeek, tends to be an EducationMama to her son Ichiro, not unlike what happened with [[Series/ChoujuuSentaiLiveman Goh Omura and his mother, even reconciling with him after realizing what happened regarding the villains]]. Speaking of Ichiro, he wore a blue colored vest that's somewhat like the the one [[Series/UchuSentaiKyuranger Kotaro]] wears.
** Episode 40 had Towa having to sit out of the action due to an issue with one of his legs but was still determined to help his team against the monster they were facing. A similar predicament also happened with [[Series/TensouSentaiGoseiger Moune]], who like Towa, was also a younger sibling of her team's Black and has a tiger-themed mecha.
** Episode 42 features a book on curry written by [[Series/TaiyouSentaiSunVulcan Asao Hyou]].
** Episode 45 has Master Black reveal in a flashback that after he was defeated by Pricious, he fell down a crevice not unlike [[Series/SeijuuSentaiGingaman Hyuuga]].
*** The same episode has Gunjoji telling the Ryusoulgers to [[Series/DoubutsuSentaiZyuohger not underestimate]] Pricious.
** [[spoiler:Ryusoul Brown basically is one to [[Series/SamuraiSentaiShinkenger Richard Brown/Shinken Brown]]. It is also a repaint of a BlackKnight armor like [[Series/MahouSentaiMagiranger Wolzard Fire]] and has the same comedic antics as [[Series/KamenRiderGhost Edith as Dark Ghost]] and [[Series/KamenRiderDrive Jun Honganji/Kamen Rider Jun]].]]
** Pricious revealing to the Ryusoulgers that [[spoiler:Eras created both the Ryusoul Tribe and the Druidon Tribe, basically making the Ryusoulger powers sort of like the [[Franchise/KamenRider Cross of Fire]].]]
** [[spoiler:Eras's desire to protect the Earth also makes her basically a darker version of [[Series/HyakujuuSentaiGaoRanger GaoGod]].]]
** [[spoiler:Eras absorbing Pricious into her to make her own body and begin her ultimatum]], much like how [[Series/MahouSentaiMagiranger N Ma did to Titan]].
** Koh attempting to reseal Eras with a new ability but some unforseen circumstances prevent that, seemingly like with [[Series/SamuraiSentaiShinkenger Dokoku]].
** [[spoiler:Koh getting stabbed to death by Eras echoes [[Series/KamenRiderRyuki Shinji getting stabbed by a Raydragoon while protecting a little girl.]] His conversation with Eras while being dead also brings to mind of Yui and Shiro's conversation while telling her of the [[Series/UchuSentaiKyuranger same emotional experiences that Naga said to Balance and Lucky]], and him being resurrected courtesy of a collectible and his friends reaching out to him brings to mind of [[Series/KamenRiderFourze Gentaro being in a similar scenario but prior to him reacting Cosmic States.]]]]
** Towa's parting conversation with Bamba has him putting a similar [[Series/EngineSentaiGoOnger smiley-smiley posture]] to the older sibling.
** Apparently, Asuna started teaching a class of students, [[Series/UchuSentaiKyuranger which was also Hammie's dream]].
** As a whole the ending is rather similar to the ending of ''Series/PowerRangersDinoThunder'' in which [[spoiler:all (if not most of) the mechas are destroyed through a HeroicSacrifice and the team loses their powers, but still go on with their lives]].

* ''Series/TaiyouSentaiSunVulcan''
** The experimental weapon that the Guardians of World Peace are working on in episode 44 is [[Series/BattleFeverJ Battle Fever Robo]], complete with the BF symbol on the chest.
** There are also a few elements brought back from ''Series/HimitsuSentaiGoranger'', such as the secret entrance to the base being in a diner run by their commander, the yellow ranger liking curry, and the finishing move balls.
* ''Series/DaiSentaiGoggleFive''
** Done by Goggle Pink after hypnotizing a bunch of {{Mook}}s into dancing around to their fall. [[Series/JAKQDengekitai "Do you want another?"]]
** Their SuperSentaiStance is ''Goranger's'' second team pose.
* ''Series/ChoushinseiFlashman:'' The very name ''Chou[blank] [Blank]man'', without ''Sentai'' in the middle, echoes ''Series/ChoudenshiBioman'', as well as reusing the ''[[Series/HimitsuSentaiGoranger Goranger]]'' colors for the FiveManBand while sticking with TwoGirlsToATeam, and having the codenames use the color as a head word rather than the tail.
* ''Series/HikariSentaiMaskman:'' Yellow Mask's status as the team’s sole {{ninja}} has been done before with [=DynaBlack=] from ''Series/KagakuSentaiDynaman''.
* ''Series/ChoujuuSentaiLiveman''
** As well as reusing the PowerTrio, complete with matching color scheme, from ''[[Series/TaiyouSentaiSunVulcan Sun Vulcan]]'', AnimalMotifs return with matching categories for the primary colors, that is birds for red, aquatic animals for blue, and big cats for yellow.
** Going all the way back to ''[[Series/HimitsuSentaiGoranger Goranger]]'', the Blue Ranger goes TheStraightAndArrowPath while Green wields {{Battle Boomerang}}s.
* ''Series/GoseiSentaiDairanger''
** A little girl in Episode 3 dresses like Kazumi from ''Series/ChikyuuSentaiFiveman''.
** Three of the rangers share the same colors and beast motifs with their counterparts from ''Series/DengekiSentaiChangeman'': Change Dragon and Ryū Ranger (both are red) Change Pegasus and Tenma Ranger (blue), and Change Phoenix and Hōō Ranger (pink).
** ''Dairanger'' also has a martial arts theme similar to ''Series/HikariSentaiMaskman''. The power source used by the Maskmen was actually "aura power", which is what ''kiryoku'' means in Japanese (more or less).
** The Gorma Shitennō would appear to be a homage to the Crime Shitennō from ''Film/JAKQDengekitaiVsGoranger'', both villainous quartets are composed of human-form villains who combine into one monster.
** Kazu's character seems to be based off Kyosuke Shida a.k.a. [[Series/BattleFeverJ Battle France]], who was also a dandy hairdresser.
* ''Series/NinjaSentaiKakuranger''
** At one point Junior performs a ritual to Zashiki-Warashi evil, with the incantation "Daichi no akuryou tachi yo. Ikeru momo no subete no ikari to nikushimi wo atsume, kono zashiki-warashi ni aku no chikara wo atae yo"[[note]]Evil spirits that dwell within the earth, gather the anger and hatred of all living things, and grant evil power unto Zashiki Warashi[[/note]] This is very close to Bandora's MakeMyMonsterGrow incantation in Series/KyoryuSentaiZyuranger, "Daichi ni nemuru akuryou-tachi yo. (monster's name) ni chikara wo atae yo."[[note]]"Evil spirits that dwell within the earth, grant power unto (monster's name.)"[[/note]]
** Also when the Flower Kunoichi Gang posed as a teacher, they taught the children songs that was taught in the first episode of Series/ChikyuuSentaiFiveman by Five Yellow/Remi Hoshikawa. The 'gag' part? One of the Flower Kunoichi Gang members is played by the actress of Remi (Keiko Hayase).
* ''Series/ChourikiSentaiOhranger''
** The Chouriki Dynamite Attack is essentially an updated rendition of the [[Series/KagakuSentaiDynaman Dynaman's]] (New) Super Dynamite move.
** The method of the other mecha combining with King Pyramider in Battle Formation (entering through the back into a large open area) is rather similar to how the [[Series/KousokuSentaiTurboranger Super Turbo Robo combined with the Turbo Builder]].
* ''Series/DenjiSentaiMegaranger:'' The Digitank serves as one to the only tank in ''Sentai'' prior to it (not counting mecha components), the Jack Tank from ''Series/JAKQDengekitai''; just like the Digitank, it emerged from a flying vessel, was equipped with a large yellow claw (though the Jack Tank's claw had much more of a usable range to it) and a spinning cannon on top.
* ''Series/SeijuuSentaiGingaman''
** Ginga Bitus is an homage to the old Super Sentai flying fortresses which carried the mecha--it's almost an [[{{Expy}} updated version]] of the Jaguar Vulcan from ''Series/TaiyouSentaiSunVulcan''.
** Many of the Barban generals are individually chosen to lead the charge until they die and get replaced, much like the higher-ranked Black Cross Army members in ''Series/HimitsuSentaiGoranger''.
* ''Series/MiraiSentaiTimeranger''
** A dinosaur-based SixthRanger who dies after passing his henshin device and mecha to the Red Ranger. [[Series/KyoryuSentaiZyuranger How haven't I seen this before?]]
** Also, his Zord is a T-Rex and his color is red (another Zyuranger reference).
** The Time Robo is a {{homage}} to Jet Icarus from ''Series/ChoujinSentaiJetman'', which also had a jet mode for its mecha.
*** The similarities to ''Jetman'' don't end there. The Timerangers themselves are sort of an inversion of the Jetmen, with a RookieRedRanger and four more experienced time cops, whereas Red Hawk was the only Jetman with actual training. Gien also has some parallels to Tranza.
** G-[[Franchise/PowerRangers Zord]], anyone?
* ''Series/BakuryuuSentaiAbaranger''
** The spamming of diamond motifs on the outfits is most certainly a callback to [[Series/KyoryuSentaiZyuranger Zyuranger]].
** Also like ''Zyuranger'', Red is a Tyrannosaurus, Blue is a Triceratops, while the ActionGirl is a Pteranodon, only yellow rather than pink this time. The official SixthRanger (technically fifth here) [[spoiler:starts as evil, then DeathEqualsRedemption]]. There is also an immense Brachiosaurus which functions as a Carrier Mecha, only now he has his own Ranger and is not the Final Mecha.
** Asuka’s storyline with Jeanne/Mahoro mirrors that of [[Series/ChoujinSentaiJetman Ryu’s storyline with Maria/Rie]]. [[spoiler:It has a happier ending though]].
* ''Series/TokusouSentaiDekaranger''
** The [[EliteMook Igaroids and Batsuroids]] use weapons that are recolored Series/MiraiSentaiTimeranger weapons.
** Also, the various HumongousMecha are references to Series/RescueSentaiGoGoFive mecha: Dekarangerrobo = Victory Robo; Dekabaserobo = Grand Liner; Dekabikerobo = Linerboy; Super Dekarangerrobo = Max Victory Robo; Dekawingrobo = Victory Mars
** Umeko getting drunk in episode 17 to fight the MonsterOfTheWeek with DrunkenMaster power was lifted from episode 4 of ''Series/ChikyuuSentaiFiveman'', where Remi did the same exact thing.
** Umeko (Pink) accidentally smacking Jasmine's (Yellow) face with ice cream is taken straight from a similar case in ''Series/DenjiSentaiMegaranger'', where Miku (Pink) did the same to Chisato (Yellow).
* ''Series/MahouSentaiMagiranger''
** Sungel/Hikaru is a special ranger who wears dark blue (OK, mainly gold, but still) and happens to love Urara who is the female blue ranger. In ''Series/NinpuuSentaiHurricaneger'', Isshuu was a special ranger who wore dark blue and happened to love Nanami who was the female blue ranger.
** Also, the ninja MonsterOfTheWeek is described in a flashback as [[Series/NinpuuSentaiHurricaneger "Unknown to the people, unknown to the world..."]]
** And then there's the way [=MagiKing=] gets assembled, with [=MagiTaurus=] serving as the core that gets armored up by the other mechs, not unlike [[Series/GoseiSentaiDairanger [=DaiRenOh=]]]. Plus, the four non-red mechs combine into [=MagiDragon=] which can be [[DragonRider used as a mount by]] [=MagiPhoenix], similar to how Ryou's [=RyuSeiOh=] rides the Heavenly Chi Palace.
** In the movie, the siblings perform the [[CombinationAttack Five Fantastic Fire]] technique, in which they leap into the air and transform into a giant fire bird. The [[Series/ChoujinSentaiJetman Jetman team]] uses a very similar attack in the penultimate episode of their series.
** The Saint Kaiser resembles a non-evil version of the first form of [[Series/KyoryuSentaiZyuranger Dora Talos]]. Highly appropriate, considering that BigGood Magiel is played by the same actress as Zyuranger's primary BigBad. This particular nod even carries over to the Franchise/PowerRangers adaptation.
* ''Series/JukenSentaiGekiranger:'' Heart, Technique, and body as the core elements to a Sentai? We also got that in Series/NinjaSentaiKakuranger, where all three were the essence of Kakure Style Ninjutsu. It's relatively obscure, but worth mentioning regardless. What's more, just like Kakuranger, they had a female, who was not the Red Ranger, as the team's official leader.
* ''Series/EngineSentaiGoOnger''
** The second line of opening lyrics say "''Ichi, Ni, San, Shi, Go-onger!''"; One of the {{Catch Phrase}}s of [[Series/TaiyouSentaiSunVulcan SunVulcan]] was "''Ichi, Ni, Sun''[[note]]Sounds exactly the same as "''San''"/"Three".[[/note]]''Vulcan!''".
** [=GunBirOh=] is pretty much [[Series/HyakujuuSentaiGaoranger GaoHunter]]; an alligator for the body, a canine and an aquatic animal for arms.
** GP 9 features [[Series/HyakujuuSentaiGaoranger a camera-theme Monster Of The Week which makes people disappear by taking pictures]].
*** Hey, [[Series/ChoujinSentaiJetman wait a minute]]!
** In his debut GP, Toripter pulled of a sideway flight exactly like [[Series/NinpuuSentaiHurricaneger Tenkujin]].
** In GP 18, Sōsuke channels [[Series/ChoujinSentaiJetman Yellow Owl Raita's]] [[RockBeatsLaser signature move.]]
** One short scene in GP 19 has Go-ongers [[Series/RescueSentaiGoGoFive rescuing civilians from a collapsing building]]. Although they're not strangers to civilian rescue, it's the rubbled insides of the building that sparks the nostalgia.
** Also, Go-Roader GT's "Giant Tire" gimmick is an analogue to [[Series/ChourikiSentaiOhranger TackleBoy]].
** Kyouretsu-Oh is very reminding of [[Series/KyoryuSentaiZyuranger Daizyujin]]/Series/{{M|ightyMorphinPowerRangers}}egazord, particularly the horns and how they fold out in the TransformationSequence, and also having a Triceratops head for a foot. It is also a dinosaur-themed {{Expy}} of Anime/GodSigma, because of its similar formation ''and'' being three-pieced.
** "Time to go on" is a line in the full version of the [[Series/TokusouSentaiDekaranger Dekaranger]] theme song.
** In GP 39, Matsuri Banki is decorated with a bunch of masks, including an [[Series/GoGoSentaiBoukenger AkaRed]].
** The main team ends their transformation with a spin and a revving sound almost identical to (if not the same as) the one used for ''Carranger''.
** The team starts with Red, Blue, and Yellow, and are then joined by Green and Black, same as ''Series/ChoujuuSentaiLiveman''.
** The whole idea of an environment-conscious, car-themed Sentai has already [[Series/KousokuSentaiTurboranger been done before]].
** Sōsuke and Speedor, the Red ranger and his mecha, share the symbol of a winged number 1, which was last seen (though in a simpler form) on the helmet of [[Series/HimitsuSentaiGoranger Akaranger]].
** In GP 40, the finisher for [[spoiler:Engine Dai Shogun]] looks suspiciously similar to [[Series/DaiSentaiGoggleFive another]] team's finisher.
*** They even do the finisher the same way as [[Series/DaiSentaiGoggleFive that team]] along with their [[Series/TaiyouSentaiSunVulcan predecessor]]!
** The core five have the same color layout as ''Series/ChoujuuSentaiLiveman''.
* ''Series/SamuraiSentaiShinkenger:'' As lampshaded in [[Series/KaizokuSentaiGokaiger a later series]], this isn't the first Super Sentai to have a hero with [[Series/ChourikiSentaiOhranger a kanji-shaped visor]].
* ''Series/TensouSentaiGoseiger:'' The series [[Series/GoseiSentaiDairanger obviously isn't the first]] to have the word "''Gosei''" in the title[[note]]The meanings are different though. "Gosei" in [=Dairanger=] means "(Of the) Five Stars/Five-Star". Goseiger's has the Kanji "Protect", "Star/Planet" and "Person"; roughly, "Those who protect the Planet" or "Planet Guardians"[[/note]].
** The [[MakeMyMonsterGrow growth method]] for the MonstersOfTheWeek involve bugs which attach and make the monster giant. [[Series/ChoujinSentaiJetman Now, where have we seen this before?]]
** Tyranno Header bears a strong resemblance to [=CarriGator=] from Series/EngineSentaiGoOnger}}. It even ends up in the same place as [=CarriGator's=] head, left foot.
** Gosei Knight's mecha form, Groundion, resembles a cross between [=GoGo Dump=] from Series/GoGoSentaiBoukenger and Sei Shishi, the Lion mecha from Dairanger.
*** Even better, Gosei Ground's face has the same colors and scheme as [[Series/NinjaSentaiKakuranger Muteki Shogun's]]. (Does it make sense now why its intro Epic had Sasuke and Tsuruhime guest-starring, with a Kappa MOTW?)
** If you squint a bit, Gosei Knight bears some resemblance to [[Series/ChoudenshiBioman Biohunter Silva]] - red eyes, silver body, has a gun for a weapon...
** The title for Epic 31: "[[Series/HyakujuuSentaiGaoranger Never Give Up]] Goseiger". For that matter, Goseiger references quite a few things from Gaoranger, such as a Blue Ranger whose shark-based mecha forms the right arm of the combined mecha, and similar villain arc structures.
** Gosei Tiger resembles a cross between a halftrack and [[Series/KyoryuSentaiZyuranger Guardian Beast Saber Tiger]].
** Gosei Ultimate resembles the [[Series/ChourikiSentaiOhranger OhBlockerRobo]], and even mimics the crossed-swords salute.
** And sealing the deal in Epic 50, [[spoiler:Blajira]]'s death scene is very similar to that of [[Series/SamuraiSentaiShinkenger Juuzo.]]
** TheMovie involves [[Series/NinpuuSentaiHurricaneger an alien princess from a distant planet, hunted by other aliens, and a new flying mecha.]]
** In Epic 38, [[spoiler: the Gosei Wonder Headders]] and Gosei Knight [[Film/MightyMorphinPowerRangersTheMovie form a bridge to repair a train track.]]
** The three villain factions are each representatives of the most common Franchise/SuperSentai villain archetypes: Warstar the alien invaders, UMA Beasts the ancient demons, and Matrintis the robot army.
* ''Series/TokumeiSentaiGobusters''
* ''Series/KishiryuSentaiRyusoulger''
* ''Series/MashinSentaiKiramager''
** Sena and her entire track and field team wear [[Series/JukenSentaiGekiranger SCRTC-branded gear]]. What's even better is that Miki Masaki and her daughter Natsume appear in Episode 27, and Jan's Janspeak has spread to them.
** The manga Mabushina read in Episode 2, ''Good Three'', is based off the adventures of [[Series/KaitouSentaiLupinrangerVsKeisatsuSentaiPatranger the Lupinrangers]] from Umika Hayami/Lupin Yellow's perspective, and written by her best friend/motivator Shiho Ichinose herself.
** The MonstersOfTheWeek are mask-themed just like in ''Series/HimitsuSentaiGoranger'' and have a similar aesthetic (large heads based on their theme, caped, often minimalist and often reused body below the neck)[[note]]Goranger's monsters often, though not always, had the same black-suited and red-belted body with tall boots below the neck. Meanwhile, Kiramager's monsters' bodies are identical below the neck, except for being recolored. It's understandable because the giant monsters look nothing like the small monsters this time, so you'd be creating ''two'' [=MOTWs=] every week if you went all-out; similarly, ''[[Series/TokusouSentaiDekaranger Dekaranger]]''[='s=] Heavy Industrial Machines and ''[[Series/TokumeiSentaiGoBusters Go-Busters]]''' Megazords come in a handful of recurring types; this is just [[BreakingOldTrends the first time]] it's the ''small'' monster who was less personalized.[[/note]]
** Joystick Jamen's catchphrase is "Aiming for your heart - target locked!" This is also the OnTheNextEpisodeOfCatchPhrase from ''Series/TokusouSentaiDekaranger''.[[note]]As always, your translation may vary. However, the Japanese phrasing is identical.[[/note]]
** Shovellow says some phrases that harken back to previous series in episode 11, specifically [[Series/NinpuuSentaiHurricaneger "Arriving like a gale!"]][[note]]''shushutto''[[/note]], [[Series/SamuraiSentaiShinkenger "Splendid!"]][[note]]''appare''[[/note]] and [[Series/KishiryuSentaiRyusoulger "Que bom!"]].
** The armor Galza wears after he joins Yodonheim is called the "[[Series/BakuryuuSentaiAbaranger Armor of Darkness]]".
** In episode 25,
*** Bomb Jamen introduces himself in a pose similar to the [[Series/KagakuSentaiDynaman Dynamen]], with an explosion behind him to boot.
*** [[spoiler:Yodonna]] blasts lightning from her eyes towards Carantula, which is a reference to [[Series/BakuryuuSentaiAbaranger Reje's]] lightning blasts towards her fellow generals, although [[spoiler:Yodonna's]] blasts are entirely her own. [[spoiler:Like Reje, she also shares a body with the BigBad, though as a separate personality rather than a host/mouthpiece.]]
** In episode 31, while playing with miniature Mashin Toys, Tatsuki dubs Mach and Shovellow Machines No. 3 and 4, respectively. This alludes to past sentai numbering the colors accordingly including: ''Series/GekisouSentaiCarranger'', ''Series/KyukyuSentaiGoGoV'', ''Series/MiraiSentaiTimeranger'' and ''Series/TokusouSentaiDekaranger''.
** Wire Jamen from episode 40 is a ShapeShifter whose default form is a bat head very similar to [[Series/TokusouSentaiDekaranger Agent Abrella.]] He even has a cape to better sell the look.
