After the band dissolved, Chasez worked on a follow-up album that was set for release in 2006 or 2007 (tentatively titled ''Story of Kate''), but was ultimately shelved by his label [[Creator/JiveRecords Jive Records]]. Chasez subsequently left the label and became one of the judges on the MTV show ''America's Best Dance Crew.'' Joshua Scott Chasez (born August 8, 1976) is American singer-songwriter and record producer. Chasez and Music/JustinTimberlake were the lead singers of the boy band [[Music/NSync *NSYNC]]. Chasez was involved with songwriting and production for the group, including writing the title track for *NSYNC's groundbreaking second album ''No Strings Attached''. His solo album, ''Schizophrenic'', was released in 2004 during the band's then-temporary hiatus.

* MusicIsPolitics: Experienced a lot of this for his solo career. His first album received little support from his record label, who poured most of their resources into his bandmate [[Music/JustinTimberlake Justin]]'s solo efforts. ‘’Schizophrenic'', his debut album, was delayed countless times and songs were leaked online without JC's knowledge. Even though ''Schizophrenic'' wasn't a hit album, Jive continued to hold onto JC and wrangled him into making a second album at the end of 2004. This album was supposed to be more of a pop record rather than a multitude of [[GenreRoulette different genres]] like ''Schizophrenic'' was. Though it featured production from big names like Timberlake and Music/Timbaland, this album was again delayed for a couple of years, resulting in JC splitting from Jive in 2007. This second album remains unreleased.

At the end of the band’s Rock in Rio concert, JC is still running around and jumping on the stage after the other guys have already gone backstage.

For unknown reasons he was left off the final track list. In general, fans often wonder what JC's career could've been like had he received the proper label support.
