Kazuyoshi Igarashi, after [[NoodleIncident a certain incident]] in his pro golfer career, was forced to relocate to the Tokara Islands in Kagoshima Prefecture, specifically to Hinojima (Hino Island). During his stay, he meets a young girl named Tonbo Oi, who lost her parents at a young age and was left a 3-iron golf club before and after she came to Hinojima. He sees that she's a natural in golf (thanks to a hidden golf course in Hinoshima where she lives to play golf and practice her skills) and decides to train her to be a professional in her own right.

* SceneryPorn: The manga (and anime) goes all the way to portray the scenery in Hinojima with the lush forests and serene seas.
* ShownTheirWork: Igarashi is told that Hinojima doesn't have a lot of kids living in the island. And since the island has no high school, they need to move somewhere close by. This is a known problem for rural communities that don't have essential facilities (like schools) that they need to commute or live in the nearest town.
