* ''Anime/{{Naruto}}'': PlayedForLaughs in an episode of the first series. Jiraya is caught spying on bathing women and this trope is initially subverted when he gets hit in the face by a geta and falls over the roof he was standing on headfirst. After a successful landing, Jiraya slips over ''his own getas'' and falls again head first, this time cracking his skull and knocking himself out.

*** And apart from that, there's the Fatal Blow, a special move all characters have that's only available when the character has 10-20% of life and it's a cinematic autocombo that makes a lot of damage (almost like the half of the lifebar) as a lifesaver for the character (being the player or the [[TheComputerIsACheatingBastard CPU]]), in which almost all hits are shown with X-Ray of broken bones, and can be done once for fight.

* A [[BMovie low-budget]] example of this trope appears in the 1980 film ''Challenge of the Tiger'': the BruceLeeClone protagonist Huang Lung fights a bull at one point. Lung finishes the fight by karate-chopping its head, and it cuts to a brief animated silhouette of the bull's skull fracturing in half before it keels over dead.

* ''ComicBook/{{Watchmen}}'': Jon (aka Dr. Manhattan) suffers a nuclear accident and we see his skeleton during the explosion sequence.

Sometimes, to emphasize the amount of damage caused by a certain attack, accident, or other physical trauma, the target's skin becomes transparent[[note]]Sometimes, there is no transparency, and the audience is just treated to a close-up of the relevant body part instead.[[/note]], and their internal organs and/or skeleton become briefly visible to the audience as an internal organ ruptures, or a bone breaks.

* ''Manga/BoboboboBobobo'': During his fight against Giga, Bobobo delivered a punch so powerful that we the bones in his arm shatter.
