* During the Welsper arc of ''Manga/AhMyGoddess'', Peorth's angel, Gorgeous Rose, protects her from a deadly energy blast fired by Welsper by wrapping her wings around Peorth's body. Aside from part of her wings being singed off, Gorgeous Rose doesn't seem worse for wear (and her wings have healed by her next appearance).

** Like in [[''Literature/GoodOmens'' the book]], [[OurAngelsAreDifferent Aziraphale]] uses his wings as a shield when it starts to rain in [[GardenOfEden the Garden of Eden]] -- but here, [[BecauseYouWereNiceToMe he uses them to shield Crowley]], not himself.

* ''WesternAnimation/XMen'': One episode had Archangel battling against his "creator" Apocalypse, attacking him with his signature FeatherFlechettes. However, the mutant villain simply enlarges his hands to reflect the flechettes back at Archangel, who hastily shields himself from his own flechettes with his metallic wings.

* In ''VideoGame/GalaxyAngel'', the Emblem Frames can project white energy wings when using their full power. During the third game, they wings are used to create a shield to protect the Elsior and Planet Juno from [[spoiler:the Chrono Break Cannon, when Wein tries to fire it from the hijacked Unit #7]].

PlayedForDrama in the Season 3 finale when he shields [[spoiler:Chloe Decker]] from multiple gunmen even though [[spoiler:that immunity is suppressed, causing him serious injury]].

* ''TabletopGame/{{Champions}}'' supplement ''Enemies III''. The supervillain named Dark Seraph can use his wings as a shield to protect himself from enemy attacks.

* ''VideoGame/SpyroEnterTheDragonfly'': The TropeNamer and image source, and also the first game in the series where Spyro gains the ability to shield himself with his wings. However, here the ability is a UselessUsefulSpell since it work on only one enemy, the Wizard Riptocs, who can only be defeated by using Spyro's wings [[DeflectorShield to deflect their own attacks back at them]].
