* ''VideoGame/OuterWilds'': One achievement is to position yourself in the solar system so that the planets line up in a way that your Signalscope can pick up the musical instruments of all four of your fellow astronauts at the same time. [[spoiler:And more generally, using the Nomai's warp platforms requires each paired set of platforms to be facing each other, which due to the planetary rotation and orbits involved can greatly limit their availability.]]

Spelling/grammar fix(es)

It should be noted, though, that due to distances involved and finite speed of light, the actual moment of planet's alignment would most likely NOT exactly correspond with its image in Earth sky. For example, light from Saturn took nearly 1.25 hours to reach the Earth. Which means, that by the time Earth observers would see Saturn in its "aligned" position, the actual planet would have long ago moved out of place. So if some nefarious plot required a ritual performed exactly at the moment of all the planets being in line, trying to perform it at the moment where the planets are VISIBLY (from Earth) in line would most likely lead to dismal failure.

* ''TabletopGame/MummyTheCurse'' has Sothic Turns. Mummies spend most of their time in the death-sleep of Descent; when they arise, it's usually because somebody's stolen a Relic they're safeguarding or the Judge that oversees their duties wants them to accomplish a particular task. Every 1,461 years, however, the star Sophis (Sirius) completes its heliacal cycle, resulting in a massive change in the flow of [[LifeEnergy Sekhem]] that empowers mummies. When this happens, mummies rise with no prerogative from their masters, are free to pursue their own goals, and enjoy a much slower descent of Sekhem before they have to return to death-sleep.
