* The waking up version appears in the pilot episode of ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'' as the title character's first line: "I need to ask you something... will you go penguin sledding with me?" He gets to do it not long after, but at the time there was no reason to say it.

** The fifth season episode "Marge on the Lam" featured lawyer Lionel Hutz babysitting the Simpson kids. When Bart and Lisa wake him from a nap, he immediately jumps up waving a switchblade, screaming "Don't touch my stuff!" After realizing where he is, Hutz calms down, saying "Hey, this isn't the YMCA..."
* In an episode of ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls'', The Mayor is startled awake and shouts, "My life is a lie!"

* In one episode of ''WesternAnimation/RockyAndBullwinkle'' where Boris is trying to hypnotize Bullwinkle, he falls victim to his own hypnotism and falls asleep. Fearless Leader then beats him awake, to which Boris groggily says "[[AbusiveParents Please Mama, not in the head]]".

With the Flush of Shame in mind, Mal answers affirmatively. Later, when Mal brings Scott back to the campsite, the still heavily dazed Scott goes for another family-oriented ramble when he tells pappy that he would've retrieved the shiny rock if only the sea-pig hadn't eaten it.
* ''WesternAnimation/WorkitOutWombats'': In "Crab Quakes," Mr. E is asleep at the counter of the Everything Emporium, and when he's woken up, he says "Clean up on aisle 2?"

* ''WesternAnimation/CourageTheCowardlyDog'': In one episode, Eustace is suffering from an unpleasant itching on his foot, disturbing his sleep to the point that he wakes up screaming "No, no, wool socks!!". [[MisBlamed And promptly kicks Courage off the bed]], blaming him for his discomfort. Eustace is actually in the early stages of an extremely agressive, and sentient, foot fungus infection known as the Clutching Foot.

* In the sequel to ''Film/TheMightyDucks'', Don Tibbles gets hit by one of Fulton's slapshots; upon being revived, he asks for "a cheeseburger, fries, and a chocolate shake."

* ''Film/TheMummy1999''. When the heroes are crossing the desert, they ride on through the night, some of them sleeping while still riding their camels. Mr. Hassan, the warden from the jail Rick O'Connel was imprisoned in, is snoring loudly, which disturbs one of his companions, who smacks him with their riding crop, causing him to snort awake, with the cry of, "No more goat soup!"
* In ''Film/StepBrothers'' after Brennan and Dale trash the house via their respective sleepwalking habits, Brennan's mother Nancy goes into their room in the morning to wake them up, only for the former to awaken and shout out "I'll kill you, Creator/LeonardNimoy!" and the latter to cry out while waking "The clown has no penis!" This causes her to lampshade the weirdness of their dreams.
