* ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureStoneOcean'' averts this trope and then plays it straight in regards to depicting the Stand Limp Bizkit's powers, which allows the user to summon [[InvisibleMonster invisible]] [[OurZombiesAreDifferent zombies]]. The first half of the Limp Bizkit arc shows the zombies as being completely invisible, even to the audience; Jolyne managed to SeeTheInvisible alligator zombie about to maul her after she splashed blood on its face. The second half of the arc does away with this and depicts the zombies as translucent to the audience, but still completely invisible to the main characters.

Not an example. This trope is about invisible characters depicted in a way so that the audience can still see them even though other characters can't. Cases of characters merely thinking that they're invisible and observers pretending to not see them do not really count. The Amazon Women on the Moon example stays because it's clearly parodying the trope.

* ''Film/AmazonWomenOnTheMoon'' has an interesting sendup: Ed Begley Jr. as the "Invisible Man", so he ''says'' he is, who is perfectly visible to everyone around him; they just play along with his antics. To make it more "authentic", Begley rips off all his clothes in order to carry out his pranks (sticking darts in the dartboard, stealing beer, etc). He's genuinely surprised when the police finally arrest him.

* Merlin, the experimental engine from ''WesternAnimation/ThomasTheTankEngine'', believes he has the power to become invisible, though all he does is release an enormous huff of steam. Thomas and his friends are aware of that, but they don't mind and still play along with it.
