During AlanMoore's run on ''{{Youngblood}}'', GoldenAge hero Waxman tried to get Shaft to consider using trick arrows, giving examples of older archer heroes who used them. It seems that there is no end to the inventiveness of bowmen, especially in SuperHero comics. If a character uses a bow as their main weapon, you can expect that their quiver will hold, at the very least explosive arrows, arrows which split into nets for capturing opponents, and knockout gas arrows. Furthermore, they will undoubtedly be [[ImprobableAimingSkills masters of trick shots, hitting targets around corners or rebounding from behind]].

** The core of ''Dawnguard's'' questline centers around using a combination of a ''very'' enchanted bow in conjunction with one of two types of trick arrows. One type, which are arrows that have been exposed to the blood of a female vampire sired directly by Molag Bal, can blot out the sun and allow vampires to move and fight freely in the daylight. The other, which are holy arrows blessed by the last priest of a corrupted elven race, allows you to shoot the sun and unleash ''orbital death rays'' on everything around you.

Hitting someone in the groin with a high-velocity golf-ball-arrow apparently works just fine.
