* Depending on the series, ''WesternAnimation/InspectorGadget'' has dozens of gadgets inside his coat. The original 1983 series was fairly restrained--his coat carried only the airbag gadget and the retractable handcuffs. Later on, in the movies, ''WesternAnimation/GadgetAndTheGadgetinis'', and the recent 2015 CGI series, his coat contained many more gadgets.

** A modern trench coat (i.e. what businessmen wear to work in bad weather) is far more advanced than what was available back then. The modern ones are very expensive water proof coats capable of keeping someone mostly dry during a thunderstorm.
