The narration describes a crack coming out of his arm, and he later shows pain when he has to use that hand while defending.

* ''Fanfic/AMothersTouch'': Yuri's plan to kidnap Yuzu hits a snag when Yoko takes her away from him as he realizes he ''has no idea'' how to navigate Maiami City. It turns out kidnappings only work if you have a general layout of the location in mind, not to mention that he doesn't have a way to move around the city.

* ''Fanfic/ConsequencesMiraculousLadybug'': Many parts of the series show how Lila's schemes likely wouldn't work in real life. Some take the magical route and involve akumas or amoks, while others involve her being caught by security cameras (or a camera in general), someone looking closer at her lies, or her lies catching up with her and causing her to out herself. Most of the punishments she faces are realistic as well, as many of them involve reform schools, prison, even ending up on a sex offender list in one. A RunningGag is also the author pointing out how her odd hairstyle and exclusively orange wardrobe would actually look pretty ugly in real life [[note]]Nothing against people who like orange, but there's such a thing as too much[[/note]]

* Podcast/SporadicPhantoms features a trio trying to do a true crime-style deep dive on the Sharing, which they're warned is a cult. Most of the first season has the RunningGag of the trio [[NoFullNameGiven not sharing their last names]], making them fully anonymous. This is reference to the books, in which the Animorphs repeatedly refuse to share their last names for secrecy, but provide enough detail that if said books ''had'' been published in-universe they could have easily been found. So it's a joke, but the one time the Sporadic Phantoms mention withholding their full names to another character, she agrees that it keeps them untraceable and doesn't sound sarcastic. However, they ''are'' putting out their podcast and their skepticism about the Sharing on a montly basis in-universe, and it does turn out that Sharing members listen. Given that they and [[ParanoiaFuel some of their family members join it]], and that they don't change their voices or any other details, going without surnames is a PaperThinDisguise at ''best''. The Sharing leadership figure it out fairly early, and when they intervene they mock the Phantoms' idea that they'd been at all anonymous.
