In ''Film/IndianaJonesAndTheTempleOfDoom'', however, Mola Ram has the titular building: an underground temple that serves as the home base of his Thuggee cult. Hidden underneath an apparently innocuous palace, it serves as a place of worship and of ritual sacrifice, a mine to dig out gems to finance the cult, a barracks for his guards and for the slaves that do the digging... and a makeshift excavation site in which he digs for the mystical Sankara stones. And, of course, the temple overlooks a hot pit filled with lava.
