* In ''Webcomic/ElGoonishShive'', this happens multiple times in non-canon NP strips, usually because of someone mucking around with transformation magic on an unsuspecting victim, but an example in the main story was when Tedd went to the game store for a card tournament and [[http://www.egscomics.com/index.php?id=1909 until the middle of a match]] didn't realize that a) the enchantment that had turned his usually-purple hair pink had worn off, with him only figuring it out when someone else mentioned that they thought his hair was a different color and b) it had been replaced instead by one that [[GenderBender turned him into a girl]]. Everyone else not noticing the latter was attributed to a combination of change blindness and Tedd [[DudeLooksLikeALady looking pretty girly anyway]].

* In Episode 8 of ''[[WesternAnimation/TotalDrama Total Drama: Revenge of the Island]]'', Dakota doesn't notice she's turning into a mutant until Chris gives her a mirror.

* At the start of ''Webcomic/{{Faith}}'', Misty doesn't realize she's become a Pikachu until ''after'' Ash's Pikachu tells her.

** Dio is completely unaware that he evolved into a Gliscor while asleep after grabbing the Razor Fang Kim dropped in his sleeping bag. When he wakes up, though, he is perplexed of it until Sinatra points it out and tells him to do a body check. That is when he notices his pincers have grown, his arms detatched from his wings and his tail lengthened, followed by looking at his reflection in Kim's mirror.

** When Dio evolves into a Gliscor as a surprise, he is unaware of his evolution until Sinatra points it out.

* In ''Roleplay/WeAreAllPokemonTrainers'', when Callum turns into an Oshawott for the first time, he doesn’t notice until Sephy mentions hearing an Oshawott.

* The beginning of ''VideoGame/JakAndDaxterThePrecursorLegacy'' shows Daxter being turned into an ottsel/[[spoiler:{{Precursor}}]] after accidently being knocked into a pool of Dark Eco. The first time he uses it, Jack only notices growing a tail even while Wuya repeatedly points out what's happening to him. Chase even exploits Jack's obliviousness to have him regress enough so as not to get in the way of Chase's plans. The real kicker is that the transformation can be undone instantly if the user simply ''lets go of the staff''.
