When he goes to the store to buy a model, he's asked to take his brother along, and his brother breaks a toy, forcing him to pay the money he saved up for the model. When he takes his brother to play baseball, his brother gets a nosebleed from being hit in the face with a baseball and has to be taken home. He used his Energy Beam to fire a warning shot between them, which John interpreted as Blyke trying to shoot a hole through his face. He later puts Blyke in the hospital in critical condition in retaliation. While Blyke's reaction was overkill for getting someone without powers to stand down he didn't actually hurt or try to hurt anyone and was actually stopping a fight from breaking out. It doesn't help that John groups Blyke and Remi with Isen and Arlo, who do actually use their strength to injure and bully those weaker than them.
