* In Creator/JodiPicoult's book ''Leaving Time'', Serenity, to the point that she doesn't even realize they're ghosts and believes she no longer has her psychic powers. At the end, a little boy also admits to seeing the people who used to live in his house, and Serenity tells him that they won't hurt him, but they are real.

* ''Film/DarbyAndTheDead'': Darby has this ability, gaining it after she nearly drowned as a girl (while her mother died in the same incident). Since then she's devoted each Friday to speaking with the dead and then helping with their unfinished business so they can pass on. The film's plot is sparked when Capri, a former friend who now bullies her, dies then coerces Darby into helping her in another way.

** ComicBook/TheIncredibleHulk and his ilk. Seriously. Although given some of the revelations of the ''ComicBook/ImmortalHulk'' run, perhaps it's not that surprising.

* ''[[TabletopGame/GeistTheSinEaters Geist: the Sin-Eaters]]'' has "death sight" as one of the innate abilities of the Sin-Eaters. The ability comes as part of the whole package that comes with almost dying, ending up at the gates of the Underworld, and being led back by a [[OurGhostsAreDifferent geist]].
