* In ''VideoGame/TheDig'', the protagonist discovers a "light bridge." Cue a storm of light puns, including light snack, light beer, and lighthouse.

* The English dub of ''Manga/BoboboboBobobo'' makes even ''less'' sense, because the original Japanese version was an example that [[WidgetSeries didn't translate very well]].

In {{anime}}, the GagSeries is also famous for using the Hurricane of Puns. Japanese comedy is quite fond of puns and malapropisms, because of how certain words and names in the Japanese language can be misquoted or alternatively written. This is one reason why many WidgetSeries don't translate into other languages very well or get treated to a GagDub instead. Puns that must be explained [[DontExplainTheJoke usually end up not being funny.]] ({{Woolseyism}} is when it does work out, usually with the dub replacing the jokes with more local ones that are the same in spirit instead of sticking to a literal translation.)

The ShoutOut is complete with the skipper/captain, Lizzie the Ocean Queen, being a PungeonMaster who aims to make copious puns about every single stop; she even ''skips'' a stop during the tour because she couldn't think of any puns relating to it. In the musical, the episode is adapted as the song [[PunBasedTitle "Water You Thinking?"]], with its title being the first hint to the style in which the song is written.
