* In the ''Manga/DragonBallZ'' fanfic ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/7183901/1/The-Bond the Bond,]]'' Makoto, as a full-blooded Saiyan, retains a monkey tail. In public, he usually wraps it around his waist so people think it's a furry belt.

* ComicBook/{{Hellboy}} keeps sawing off his devil horns. This is only a little to hide the fact that he's not human (given how even without horns he doesn't look remotely human) and mostly as he's the AntiAntiChrist and rejects his horns for representing how he's "[[ScrewDestiny supposed]]" to end the world.

* In ''Fanfic/{{Embers}}'', Ty Lee is secretly an Airbender through her Air Nomad heritage. She's best friends with the Fire Nation princess and hides her secret well, [[spoiler:but not well enough that Azula hadn't known for years thanks to scrolls]].

* In ''Webcomic/TheDragonDoctors'' webcomic, Kili and Greg, both werewolves, have abnormally fast hair growth and unless they want to be swamped by RapunzelHair they need to cut it off twice a day.

** Kagerou Imaizumi is a werewolf who is, well... [[FreakinessShame not exactly comfortable about the fact that she gets really hairy on nights of the full moon.]] Consequently she wears a very concealing, long-sleeved dress, tends to hide out in the [[LostWoods Bamboo Forest of the Lost]] during her "time of the month" and is, in fact, ''less'' agressive during nights that she's wolfing out than otherwise since she ''really'' doesn't want to be seen looking like that... She appears to have no problems with [[LittleBitBeastly the wolf ears]], though.

* Zig-zagged with Miss Martain /M'Gann M'orse in ''WesternAnimation/YoungJustice'', who hides her Martain identity in her civilian identity Megan Morse. [[spoiler:However, she is also hiding her identity as a ''white'' Martian from her teammates for most of the first-season, having suffered FantasticRacism from the Green Martians and fears anyone seeing her true monstrous form. By the end of the first season, she had revealed the truth to her teammates, and in the third season her Miss Martian form has white skin, showing she has embraced her heritage]].

** Young [[OurSirensAreDifferent sirens]] look just like humans, though often with [[YouGottaHaveBlueHair fantastic hair colors]], and sometimes [[AmazingTechnicolorPopulation unnatural skin colors]] (for humans). * ''VideoGame/Fallout4'' heavily features "Synths", synthetic humans manufactured by the institute with all the internal functions that are outwardly indistinguishable from real human beings. Many of them pose as humans, either by [[KillAndReplace Killing and Replacing]] innocent wastelanders to further the goals of the shadowy organization known as the Institute, or by creating new identities in order to evade capture after escaping the Institute (where they're basically slaves). Naturally, ''Film/BladeRunner'' [[ShoutOut shout-outs]] abound.

* Franchise/{{Superman}} (who in actuality is Kal-El from the planet Krypton) spends his time between super-heroing as [[SecretIdentity Clark Kent, mild-mannered human reporter]]. Though in his defense, he was ''raised'' human, and didn't learn his birth name until he was an adult. In ''ComicBook/AllStarSuperman'', his efforts to hide his Kryptonian heritage extend to completely altering his posture as Clark Kent.

** Early in ''VideoGame/MassEffect3'', Dr. Eva Core, a scientist at the Prothean Archive on Mars, is discovered by Shepard to be an android designed to look human. Shepard's team "kills" her, and her body is later taken over by ''Normandy'''s shipboard {{AI}} EDI.

* ''{{Series/Farscape}}'': D'Argo's son Jothee tries to cut off his Luxan beard-tentacles since he was ashamed to be part-Luxan and thought his father had abandoned him. This doesn't really help hide his otherness, though, since he only succeeds in scarring his face and he still has plenty of other Luxan features.

* Many {{Conspiracy Theorist}}s, such as Creator/DavidIcke allege that various assorted world leaders and public figures are actually TheReptilians shapeshifted into human forms so that they can secretly control the masses and advance the goals of whatever AncientConspiracy it is that they happen to belong to, as evidenced by the fact that their pupils kinda look like vertical slits when photographed from certain angles.

* Setsuna from ''Manga/MahouSenseiNegima'', on top of normally keeping her wings hidden, is implied to dye her hair and wear contacts to hide the fact that she's albino. The former is for the sake of the masquerade, while the latter is due to self-image issues (white wings were believed to be be an ill omen in her tribe and [[ParentalAbandonment she was cast out by her family]] as a result).

* It's revealed late in the ''WebAnimation/{{RWBY}}'' fanfic ''FanFic/{{Resurgence}}'' that [[spoiler: Ruby's mother, Summer Rose, was [[HalfHumanHybrid half-Faunus]]. As human-Faunus hybrids are subject to HalfBreedDiscrimination from both races, she never removed her hood in front of others, even her own teammates, to hide her own Faunus ears out of shame. Around the time of Ruby's birth, she ultimately had the ears surgically removed.]]

* In ''FanFic/TheWeaverOption'' the AI Dragon is teleported into ''Warhammer 40k'', specifically a Mechanicus forgeworld. On learning how "Abominable Intelligences" are viewed by the Imperium, Dragon transfers her mind into a custom-built cyborg body. She does note in passing that the cosmetic vat-grown tissue she used to disguise that she's an AI is actually more tissue than some of the other techpriests.

* ''Film/XMenFilmSeries''

* Count ''{{Literature/Dracula}}'' poses as an ordinary human nobleman for most of the first half of the story, as part of his evil plot to get some Londoners to nosh on.

* In ''Videogame/{{Evolve}}'', once Hyde [[spoiler: begins to mutate through exposure to the monster atmosphere]], he takes to wearing a mask.
* Marina from ''VideoGame/{{Splatoon 2}}'' is an Octoling living amongst Inklings. However, most of the Inklings [[FailedASpotCheck don't realize she's an Octoling]] and just think she is an odd looking Inkling. Marina doesn't deny being an Octoling, but due to the animosity between the two species she tries to avoid referencing that she's an Octoling. Sometimes she [[PassFail slips up]], like when she referred to [[YouMeanXmas Octivus instead of Squidmas]].
* Kharg from ''Videogame/ArcTheLadTwilightOfTheSpirits'' discovers he's a HalfHumanHybrid rather than a pure human shortly before a pair of draconic wings sprout from his back, terrifying everyone around him. He later rips the wings off in disgust.
