* [[ProfessionalWrestling Wrestling]] fandom is almost entirely slash-centric. This has a large part to do with the fact that wrestling itself is 90% nearly-all-attractive, athletic, almost-naked males getting all over each other in a ring. This would be understandable if the large majority of the internet fandom ''didn't'' shriek in horror whenever a het fic popped up. The only even remotely accepted het ship for a very long time in wrestling fandom was ChrisJericho/StephanieMcMahon, and that was because of a mix of BelligerentSexualTension and even the ''commentators'' shipping it.

* As mentioned in the trope description, ''HarryPotter'' has a lot of slashers. So many that they have acted ''personally offended'' when some of their favorite ships have been (ostensibly) {{Jossed}}. And when JKR said Dumbledore had been gay and in love with Grindlewald, [[{{Fanon}} the immediate assumption]] was that they were shagging like bunnies.

They also don't seem to want to listen when many real gay people point out the fanfiction they're writing is highly stereotypical and doesn't really reflect reality (not that all [[HetFic Het Fic]] does this either, but there you go). Mind you, more extreme typical {{Yaoi Fangirl}}s might engage in this sort of flaming as well. There are also those who are just tired of the ubiquity of het romance plots in all variety of fiction and the tropes that go with them, particularly the stereotyping of everyone involved.

They're considerably quieter and less numerous than in other fandoms because of Hetalia fandom liking the canon female characters a lot more than other yaoi-heavy fandoms generally do, but they're still there.

* Unsurprisingly, [[FamilyGuy Brian is often paired with Stewie in fanfiction]]. However, what it is surprisingly is the number of people who think that Brian is gay ''in canon'', despite being absolutely no evidence of this.

* Fans of Merlin/Arthur in {{Merlin}} often pair Gwen with Morgana on the side.

** Also, two LostForever fansites had absolutely ridiculous levels of het hate as well as [[DieforOurShip Relena bashing.]] One of them absolutely prohibited any het fics that weren't Zechs/Noin or Wufei/Sally and openly claimed that "yaoi love" [[WallBanger was "the only true love in the world"]], alongside stating that [[RealWomenNeverWearDresses "girls who don't act like men are all bitches"]]; the other openly accused all [=1xR=] shippers [[InsaneTrollLogic of being homophobic just because they preferred to ship Heero with Relena instead of Duo.]]

* ''WeissKreuz'': Seriously - HOW many female characters are there? Almost every time a male character (say, Omi and Yohji) go and start liking a girl - say, Ouka or Maki (...or Asuka, or Neu...) - said girl ends up dead. The supreme lack of female characters has, in some fan-circles, created the line "At least it's not Tot" implying that any partner would be better than a female.
** Nagi and Ken have (slightly) better luck: Tot and Yuriko don't die, they just get [[PutOnABus Put On A Bus]].
