** Creator/KellenGoff's Diavolo from ''Manga/JojosBizarreAdventureVentoAureo'' is pretty gravelly when he's speaking normally. When he's angry, he sounds like he's a stone's throw away from a ''very'' nasty psychotic breakdown.

* Frank Welker also reused the Darkseid/Soundwave/Dr. Claw voice for Malebolgia in the ''Film/{{Spawn}}'' movie, resulting in the demon having a guttural, raspy voice.

* Shao Kahn's appearance at the end of ''Film/MortalKombatTheMovie'' was voiced by Creator/FrankWelker -- who simply reused the same voice he gave the below mentioned Darkseid, Soudwave, and Dr. Claw, resulting in Shao having a guttural quality to his voice.

* While ''Franchise/MortalKombat'' has no shortage of growlers from Sub-Zero to Shao Kahn, one standout example is Noob Saibot as he appears in ''VideoGame/MortalKombat11'', where his voice sounds like he's speaking in a permanently hoarse whisper.

* The late George Page, creator of ''Nature'' on Creator/{{PBS}}, hosted and narrated the series from its inception in 1982 until a bout with throat cancer forced him to retire from hosting duties in 1998. * Creator/JohnSwasey's Crocodile from ''Manga/OnePiece'' sounds reminiscent of WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries' Two-Face at times.

* The late great Creator/{{Mako}} Iwamatsu. This apparently stemmed in part from smoking, which unfortunately may have done him in, as he died of esophageal cancer.

* Takkar TheBeastmaster in ''VideoGame/FarCryPrimal'' has a low, serious, gravelly voice appropriate for a [[BarbarianHero Caveman Hero]]. A lot deeper than his enemy Warchief Ull.

* Charles Vane possesses Zach [=McGowan's=] deep, gravelly, voice in ''Series/BlackSails''. Despite it, and Vane's rather barbaric appearance, Vane himself is actually rather clever and erudite, speaking often on issues such as freedom and the value of strength.

* ''WesternAnimation/FostersHomeForImaginaryFriends'' has a CrossDressingVoice example of this with Mac's [[BigBrotherBully cruel older brother]] Terrence, who is voiced by Creator/TaraStrong. Yes, [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic THAT]] [[WesternAnimation/PowerpuffGirls Tara]] [[WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddparents Strong]]. This is actually the main reason she declared Terrence to be her least favorite character to voice since his husky voice inflicted an acute strain to her vocal cords.

* Rick D. Wasserman's Hulk/The Green Scar from ''WesternAnimation/PlanetHulk''. His voice rivals Lou Ferrigno's tenure as the Hulk.

** The Metal Masked Assassin as well, especially in The Doomstar Requiem. Fitting, as he's voiced by [[Music/CannibalCorpse George 'Corpsegrinder' Fisher]].

* Timber Wolf from ''WesternAnimation/LegionOfSuperheroes''; his voice gets even deeper and raspier when he enters his more bestial form.

* [[PerkyGoth Gwen]] from ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama'' is a female example, being a tomboy with a voice raspy enough to make one think she has a chronic sore throat, though VocalEvolution eventually sets in and makes this a downplayed example (and her singing voice is quite lovely, from what we hear of it.)
