* ''Fanfic/TheInfiniteLoops'' has a justified example, as the coding regarding a looper's sexuality was among the first stuff to be lost during the event that caused the loops and, considering that there are more pressing things to be recovered, the admins don't really attempt to recover it. Thus, a lot of characters who appeared be to straight in baseline will mention taking lovers of both genders.

Up To Eleven is a defunct trope

* In ''Literature/TheStoneDanceOfTheChameleon'' by Ricardo Pinto, sexuality is pretty much discarded as a point of interest, where straight and gay relationships are equally common-place. The problem comes where you have the Chosen (who are the undisputed [[MasterRace "supreme race"]] so to speak) and the other races (who act as their slaves and who aren't even allowed to look at their faces). Considering that all subservient races are completely oppressed by the Chosen and horrifically bound by The Law, there tends to be a ''lot'' of sexual abuse, rape, and subjugation of both genders of those races... and some of the stuff the more sadistically-minded Chosen are into crosses the line of "torture" and becomes BrainBleach incarnate (UpToEleven). In fact, when the main character (who is a Chosen, but brought up away from their culture), finds out that another Chosen has raped his half-slave brother, said Chosen can't understand why he's so upset and is genuinely shocked that he cares so much. Nuff said.

** The nation of Orlais takes this trope UpToEleven with the nobility. Because sleeping your way to the top is basically a necessity to play [[DecadentCourt the Grand Game]], and since there's no significant stigma against homosexuality in Thedas, it's a well known fact that most Orlesian nobles will bed anyone, male or female, to climb the social ladder, regardless of their actual orientation.

On many mainstream TV shows, there are NoBisexuals. This is the ''other'' extreme: Everyone Is Bi. Gender--aside from a few token comments--is hardly a factor in the characters' relationships; the [[JumpingTheGenderBarrier gender barrier]] seems an alien concept.

What this trope is ''not'' is, for example, ''Webcomic/UmlautHouse''. While about half the cast is bisexual, the other half is explicitly not--and even if the ratio were different, the fact that [[HaveIMentionedIAmHeterosexualToday neither half will]] ''[[HaveIMentionedIAmHeterosexualToday shut up about it]]'' makes it the antithesis of this trope, in which it's rarely, if ever, mentioned at all.

While it's not TruthInTelevision, it ''is'' truer than people often think. People can be attracted to either gender (or neither), and if someone's previously expressed an attraction to their opposite gender, bisexuality can be a safe assumption. If you're counting homoflexibility and heteroflexibility, then there certainly are '''lots''' of bi people--but still, not '''everyone''' is bi.

* The large majority of ''Music/{{Vocaloid}}'' characters are Main/{{blank slate}}s with no "official" sexuality attached to them. However, it's because they lack "official" sexualities that they ironically fell into this trope, as the lack of canonicity attached to them means creators can portray them however they like with no strings attached. Unsurprisingly, this has resulted in pretty much every Vocaloid character getting paired up with each other at least once, regardless of their gender and/or sex.

* The large majority of ''Music/{{Vocaloid}} ''Music/{{Vocaloid}}'' characters are this from a meta-perspective by virtue of being total Main/{{blank slate}}s with no "canon" sexuality. Pretty much every Vocaloid character has most likely been depicted as having feelings for and being in a romantic and/or sexual relationship with and have banged each other at least once, other, regardless of gender or sex. Music/HatsuneMiku for instance can go from being a Main/{{Yandere}} who intended on killing tries to kill Luka over her dating their mutual childhood crush Kaito in one song ("Acute") to being in a deeply romantic relationship with her in another ("Magnet") and both takes are equally valid in the world of Vocaloid given the lack of canonicity. Whether or not they're this in the songs proper though [[DependingOnTheWriter depends on the producer]].

* In the ''Webcomic/SinKidsAU'', there doesn't seem to be any character, original or canon, that's truly straight or truly gay. While most of the characters have preferences for the opposite sex, they have zero problem with the same sex either.

** Also applies to several female characters (Liane Cartman has sexual relations with both male and female characters, =[Mayor McDaniels=] is implied to have a husband but has had sex with both Officer Barbrady and Liane Cartman.)

* Both Cupids and Cubi from ''ComicBook/FinePrint'' are polymorphic in nature and [[GenderBender can shift between genders at will]], so their sexual preference is just as fluid. The same applies to the protagonist Lauren Thomas, who's attracted to both men and women, including having threesomes. All these make up most of the characters.

* Just about the entire pantheon in Myth/ClassicalMythology. There’s a few asexuals like Hestia, Athena, Artemis and possibly Hades, but aside from that, basically everyone else is so casual with sex the idea of heterosexuality is down-right quaint.

There’s a few asexuals like Hestia, Athena, Artemis and possibly Hades, Hades and Persephone only had eyes for one another (very rare case in the Pantheon), but aside from that, basically everyone else is so casual with sex the idea of heterosexuality is down-right quaint.

* Seems to be the case with ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing'', with both male and female characters coming across as potentially having feelings for both same-sex and opposite-sex characters.
