* ''Literature/TheLordOfTheRings'' takes place sixty years after ''Literature/TheHobbit''; this is not immediately noticeable due to most main characters belonging to species that are either very LongLived or actually [[TheAgeless ageless]], but enough time has passed for Bilbo to become an old man with an adult nephew and for the city of Dale to be ruled by the grandson of Bard, who becomes its ruler at the end of ''The Hobbit''.

** ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaI'' is set in 1691, ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaIIIDraculasCurse'' is a prequel set in 1476, ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaRondoOfBlood'' is a sequel in 1792, ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaBloodlines'' goes further to 1917, ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaHarmonyOfDissonance'' goes back to 1748, the ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaChroniclesOfSorrow'' games are set in the 2030s, ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaLamentOfInnocence'' goes all the way back to 1094, ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaCurseOfDarkness'' is set in 1479, ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaPortraitOfRuin'' occurs in 1944, and the last Metroidvania game before the reboot, ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaOrderOfEcclesia'', takes place in the 1800s.
