* In the dub version of the feature-length {{anime}} ''Steamboy'', 22-year-old AnnaPaquin plays 13-year-old James Ray Steam. In the Japanese version, the role was played by 17-year-old Anne Suzuki.

* An unusual example that incorporates VocalEvolution can be found in Jason Spisak's performance as [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyV Bartz]] between the two ''VideoGame/DissidiaFinalFantasy'' games.[[hottip:*:For context, Bartz is a DittoFighter who mixes and matches the moves of his allies, owing to his status as a 'mime' character. On top of this, he takes on a different tone of voice whenever he uses certain attacks; for instance, he uses a more gruff tone when copying one of Squall's moves, and takes on a more gallant register when copying the Warrior of Light or Cecil]] His voice holds a slightly deeper tone in the first game than in the prequel, which means that, while slightly jarring given that all of the cutscenes from the first game were reused in ''Duodecim'' (alongside his new battle lines), he gets the voices of the newly-added female characters down to a startling degree of accuracy when mimicking their attacks.

** In the Brazilian dub, most of the boys (except Kenny) are voiced by women. Marta Rhaulin continues the theme of Kyle and Cartman sharing a voice actress.

* In HannaBarbera's version of ''TheLittleRascals'', [[JulieMcWhirter Julie Dees]] and [[WesternAnimation/JanaOfTheJungle B.J. Ward]] had five boy roles between them. Julie played Alfalfa, Porky and Woim, while B.J. played Butch and Waldo.

** This was also parodied in the unofficial series finale movie - the Diggers were voiced by actual children, but one of their voices changed. So both of The Diggers were voiced by the same person...until the end where the characters talk about how things are changing, [[CrowningMomentOfFunny one of the diggers says "Hey, what happened to my voice?"]] in a ''drastically'' different voice.

* 12-year-old Finn from ''WesternAnimation/AdventureTime'' is voiced by Jeremy Shada, who was 13 when the voice recording first began. As Shada's aged and his voice has broken, so has Finn, having his 13th birthday in the show and WordOfGod stating that Finn is 14 by the end of the third season.

* In the short lived cartoon ''Detention'' all of the boys were voiced by grown men most notably Creator/BillyWest as scifi geek Emmitt Roswell and Creator/CarlosAlazraqui as Gug the small boy with the NapoleonComplex.

* In {{TheFlintstones}} toddler Bam Bam and Arnold the 8 year old paper boy were voiced by Don Messick.
* In {{MightyMax}} most of the male children were voiced by grown men, Max himself was voiced by the then 30-some year old {{RobPaulsen}}, his friend Felix was voiced by {{CoreyBurton}} and resident nerd Ernie was voiced by {{CharlieAdler}}.

*** In the {{FUNimation}} dub, Luffy has the voice of ColleenClinkenbeard. Strange though, seeing that she's voiced very adult females such as [[{{xxxHolic}} Yuuko]], [[{{Baccano}} Nice]], and [[Manga/FullmetalAlchemist Riza]].

* One who is familiar with the trope would think that the squeaky-voiced 4- to 6-year-old Elmo on ''Series/SesameStreet'' is voiced by a woman. No, he's voiced by Kevin Clash, an African-American man who is almost 50. Clash also performs Hoots the owl.

** He also had previously voiced ''[[VideoGame/TheWorldEndsWithYou Joshua]]'', who [[spoiler: Takes the appearance of a boy in his mid-teens]].
* ''VideoGame/OracleOfTao'' has most characters played by females, with the exception of one bit part (Bakamaru). God and Estheriel is voiced by actresses, but both roles are androgynous, since angels are [[NoBiologicalSex generally considered sexless]]. On the other hand, Nevras is actually cast this way, which is possibly ironic, since the character is a WholesomeCrossdresser in the game. There is also a scene in the ending where the actress playing Nevras is [[CrowningMomentOfAwesome doing this]] ''[[CrowningMomentOfAwesome and]]'' PlayingGertrude [[CrowningMomentOfAwesome without it]] [[LarynxDissonance sounding weird]].
