* The final transformation of Zophar at the end of ''{{Lunar}} 2: Eternal Blue'' (or at least the remake) is like this.

* Castlevania 3 Death. After playing thourhg the hardest path in a nintendo hard boss, you fight ThatOneBoss in the hardest game in the series, where Death is normally pretty hard. After a painfully diffacult battle, requirng memorisation and mad relfexs, Death transforms into his never before seen second form! A hugggeee skull!...... thats insanely easy to hit and has crappy attacks, Cue AnticlimaxBoss.

** Earlier done to a certain degree with [[spoiler:Envy's full transformation]] against Roy Mustang. As noted in the [[ShutUpHannibal page quote]], the increase in brute strength was significantly offset by the fact that his opponent was now so large that Roy barely needed to aim and a bigger form means he burnt through his Philosopher's stone faster.

* For those who ''haven't'' read/seen ''{{Akira}}'': During the endgame, Tetsuo's powers become exceedingly unstable and his body mutates and expands. It attempts to crush everyone near it, but at that point it's out of control and the Tetsuo doesn't really have any influence over his massively-expanding BodyHorror. The psychics then teleport main character Kaneda away from the mass of flesh and proceed to blow it up.

* Goodguy version on ''{{Dragon Ball}} Z''. Future Trunks thought he had surpassed his father by going past Super Saiyan - until he tries to use it in a fight. Sure he's big and strong, but the bulky muscles make him significantly slower and he immediately loses. Vegeta had realized that and focused on improving speed, rather than breaking through to the next level.

* In Disney's ''TheLittleMermaid'', Ursula gains power over all the oceans in the world and swells to a colossal form controlling the waters all around her...[[DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu only to be quickly run through]] [[RammingAlwaysWorks with the splitered bow of a ship]].

* In the ''StargateSG1'' movie ''TheArkOfTruth,'' Agent Marrick gets [[HoistByHisOwnPetard killed by Replicators]] and returns as a [[strike:[[HalfLife headcrab zombie]]]] zombie cyborg. He gets shot, stabbed, electrocuted, and ultimately blown up. But then his mechanical components rise from the ashes as a Replicator skeleton, which slowly approaches the already half-dead Mitchell, readies a killing blow -- and immediately collapses into fragments, because Carter had figured out the Replicators' [[SelfDestructMechanism killswitch]].
** Not an example. The replicator's deactivation was completely unrelated to the new skeleton form.

* The Shredder in the second ''Film/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles'' movie drinks the mutagen and grows into a gigantic mutant form...only to just as quickly cause the massive dock he's standing on to collapse, where he sinks to the bottom of the lake (presumably).
* Oddly enough, ''Film/TheThing''. What with all the [[KillItWithFire flamethrowers]] in the Antarctic base, any piece of the Thing which takes an easily recognizable form on-screen is immolated relatively quickly. The ''real'' problem is [[VoluntaryShapeshifting it finding who it is in the first place.]]

*** Something very similar (perhaps a ShoutOut?) happens with the collective ghostly intelligence (assuming it is real) of [[spoiler:the Overlook Hotel]] in Stephen King's [[spoiler:''The Shining''. When the building explodes, a huge, black shape made of a myriad of tiny black motes, "like an obscene manta", seems to pour itself out of the window of the presidential suite and get ripped apart by the winds. Hallorann, the only witness to this event, is reminded of a time when he as a child blew up a wasp's nest with a firecracker and watched as the wasps rose from it in a collapsing, dwindling cloud, the single collective group intelligence of the wasps seeming to wonder furiously as it died what had done this to its home. But he might have just been mistaking what he saw.]]

*** Well, to be fair, [[spoiler:Mithos']] second form has many powerful attacks, some of which can one hit you - however, since he's a large target and doesn't get overlimits he can easilly be pinned down and comboed to death. His low defense doesn't help either.

* ''WorldOfWarcraft'' has Kael'Thas' second encounter. While he definitely looks more intimidating due to the way a demon saved his life, he's a far shot from his former self, who had [[FlunkyBoss several servants]], animated weapons and a very impressive event heralding the last stage of the fight. Instead, he only goes through the last two stages again, the second of which was weakened so much that any single class with self-healing capacities can finish him off. He also went from a 25-man raid down to five people, but even for that he's not particularly impressive compared to the rest of the dungeon he was in. People were more likely to have troubles with the last pack of regular enemies.
** Arguably though, this is not even a OneWingedAngel attempt at all. This is just a guy who, for all intents and purposes, got killed and was saved in extremis. Far from him the idea of becoming stronger, it was just a matter of making out of his defeat alive. The crystal in his chest is preserving his life. You're fighting a guy ''on life support.''

* At the end of ''IndianaJones and The Fate of Atlantis'', Indy convinces the evil Colonol Kerner to try the ascension machine in lieu of using him as a guinea pig. As it activates, he becomes taller and taller, his eyes glow, and he can feel the power of godhood surging through him when-- he suddenly crumples into a misshapen little imp. Horrified by his appearance, he kills himself by jumping into the lava. Par for the course in an [[IndianaJones Indy]] climax, of course.
** A minute later, the evil scientist Dr. Ubermann undergoes pretty much the exact same fate when Indy convinces ''him'' to step into the ascension machine too. Ubermann ''does'' succeed in transforming into an energy being, but the raw power is too much for him and he quickly disappates into nothingness.

* How did we forget [[FinalFantasyVII Sephiroth himself]]? Sure, Safer Sephiroth (and his music) are incomparably more famous, but we can't forget that plain old Sephiroth faces Cloud one-on-one after the big fight. And promptly dies from an Omnislash.
** Or even just a simple sword swing if you do nothing and let Sephiroth attack, forcing Cloud to counter.
** That's because it isn't his "next form". It's his mind trying to take over Cloud's. The last fight is a symbol for the two engaging in a battle of wills.

* The Demon Beast from ''Chibi Knight''. It has three stages. First, you need to destroy its shield orbs before you can even hurt it. Then it takes on a different pattern when it loses its sheild. The third form is a giant eye that just sits there and does nothing.

* The [[http://www.lifeinagame.com/pages/episode62.html final form of Lollerskates]] in ''LifeInAGame'' is...himself, with a mask, an [[AttackItsWeakPoint incredibly obvious weakpoint]], and the moves of [[StreetFighter Dan]].

* In the final episode of ''{{WITCH}}'', [[TheStarscream Cedric]] [[spoiler: ''eats'' [[BigBad Phobos]], allowing him to absorb both Phobos's own magic and the stolen powers Phobos (and before him, Nerissa) had been collecting across the season. This allows Cedric to transform into a nearly all-powerful version of his ScaledUp OneWingedAngel form- but he still goes down quickly, because the heroines have ''better' OneWingedAngel forms]].

** [[ResidentEvilCodeVeronica Alexia]] has two clipped-wing angel phases after OneWingedAngel, first a large, immobile, MookMaker blob, then finally a humanoid dragonfly that is destroyed in one hit from the Linear Launcher.

* In ''FireEmblem: Radiant Dawn'', The Black Knight turns out to be one in his final battle. Over the course of two games, he is established as incredibly skillful and nearly invincible. It is possible to cross swords with him earlier in the game, at which point he is so strong it is nearly (if not outright) impossible to defeat him. However, by the time of the climax, Ike (the hero) is likely to be so strong, The Black Knight will fall after 3 turns of battle. (This is particularly disappointing, as in the first game there was an optional climactic battle with him, where even a capped-out Ike needs some level of luck to win without cheating.)
** Make that 1 turn. It's hammer time!
** Justified/Handwaved, in that in the first one his armor had been blessed by the goddess and so was invulnerable to any normal blade, while a line in the second one mentions his armor having somehow lost said blessing between games.
*** Really? Don't remember that - I thought it was simply that Ike and crew now carried the blessing of the oppositely aligned goddess, canceling out the Black Knight's advantage.

** Somewhat later, [[spoiler:Aizen]] goes through a whole set of OneWingedAngel forms courtesy of the local MacGuffin. The first few are {{Narm}} incarnate (though still powerful) but the final one is pure, undiluted HighOctaneNightmareFuel. [[spoiler:So, naturally, Ichigo [[CurbstompBattle beats him down without breaking a sweat]].]]

* Inherent in the The Mayor's plan in season three of ''BuffyTheVampireSlayer''. He gets to be a completely invincible though average human for 100 days, before transforming into a giant snake demon which, though much more powerful, is destructible.

** Also, while less dramatic, High Astromancer Solarian's fight. The first phase involves her casting deadly arcane spells and summoning adds galore. Upon hitting 20% health, she seems to go OneWingedAngel by transforming into an immense Void Walker demon... but the enconter actually turns into a Tank-And-Spank fight and can be won with merely a handful of raid members alive.

* ''{{Kirby}} Squeak Squad'': After defeating Dark Daroach and pursuing a small purple star through a nebular landscape, you wind up face-to-FacelessEye with the game's final boss, Dark Nebula/Zero (a giant purple star with a pink, serpentine eye). Its CosmicHorror exterior disguises its true colors - an anticlimactic wimp that goes down after maybe a dozen shots from your EleventhHourSuperPower.

* In ''{{Bleach}}'', [[spoiler:after revealing he's been made into a Vizard, Tousen Kaname says that he has a resurrection to go along with it. He turns into an insectoid monster, which also has working eyes. As he's about to finish off Komamura, Hisagi sneaks up on him and stabs him through the head. Hisagi claims that if Tousen hadn't been distracted by his newfound sight, he would have easily sensed him and dodged it. Yes, [[{{Irony}} a blind man gained sight, only to be defeated by an attack he would have seen coming otherwise]].]]

Much like a LevelFiveOnix, this boss goes down in three hits and goes into a ShapeShifterSwanSong and promptly keels over in an [[StuffBlowingUp explosion]] of energy or [[LudicrousGibs guts]]. Hopefully not both. Hell, hopefully neither!

His OneWingedAngel form is considered one of the hardest bosses in the game with his instant death spell and high attack power, but when he shows up in another form at the very end, he's nothing more than a defenseless weakling that goes down in a couple hits.

* The final final form of the final boss in ParasiteEve. [[spoiler:After three forms of extremely creepy evolution to OneWingedAngel form, it turns into a giant goopy green thing. It can still attack, but is much weaker and will go down with a couple of shots from your special ChekhovsGun.]]

Maybe if they came at you in the opposite order...but for all intents and purposes, Gaia Core is the final boss of Grandia 1.

* The final FinalBoss of ''Monster Lair''. After destroying the dragon the BigBad is riding, which is a ThatOneBoss, he morphs into a NightmareFuel-ing green ghoul-type monster. This form, however, is more bark than bite.

* In TheLegendOfDragoon, when you invade the lower floors of the evil empire's castle, you're spotted by a scientist, who says that he's worked on a new transformation spell that he'll use to kill you. The creepy pre-boss music starts up, [[spoiler: and he transforms into a dog. Dog doesn't even try to fight you, it just barks. It's been a while, but I also believe that one of your party members comments on its cuteness]].

* In Final Fantasy Legend 2 (known as SaGa2 in Japan), abusing MAGI can turn you into a god, complete with a OneWingedAngel form, and the more MAGI you have, the more powerful your new form is. The game's second-to-last boss, [[spoiler: Apollo]], managed to get his hands on all but one of the MAGI, and ends up being a very difficult fight. However, because he's missing a MAGI, his new form is unstable. Even if your party isn't strong enough to kill him with damage, if you simply manage to survive enough rounds of combat, he'll eventually undergo a SuperpowerMeltdown and explode.

* The final boss of NoMoreHeroes2 goes through three forms. He starts out as an annoying but underwhelming PuzzleBoss, and then injects himself with PsychoSerum to become a Batman-esque abomination that can teleport, lock you into a flurry of punches, and even just toss you out the window for an instant kill. His final form? An immobile, goofy mascot balloon with a weak, easily blockable laser as its sole attack.

* In TheEmperorsNewGroove, Yzma takes a transformation potion that initially looks like it's going to be a OneWingedAngel, but once the smoke clears, [[spoiler:is just a squeaky little kitten.]]

The villain (perhaps after already going into another OneWingedAngel form and ''still'' losing to the heroes) shape shifts into an ultimate SuperMode. So awe inspiring is this new form the [[RedSkyTakeWarning very skies weep blood]], so terrifying that it [[ShapeShifterMashup combines the power of every monster]], and the hero and his love [[StockKisses kiss each other goodbye]]. Problem is, the new super form is made more unstable by any of a number of things, be it an [[ToxicPhlebotinum unstable]] PowerSource, [[ThisIsYourBrainOnEvil built up side effects]], or a 'plain old' SuperPowerMeltdown once the heroes [[FingerPokeOfDoom poke him]].
