** It should be noted that Ferrari is dead and died relative young. A common theory is that it were either the implants or the loads of medicaments she had to take against her pains (those things get on the back and then ripping skin on the chest doesn't help matters either) which killed her. Her husband and manager refusing any attempts at an authopsy, only helped supporting those theories.

Within the various forms of media, there is a prevalent assumption among story writers, artists, etc., that large(r) breasts automatically make a woman [[{{Fanservice}} more]] [[HelloNurse attractive]]; this often leads to "excessive" focus on said breasts even if this assumption is not stated in the text, and/or the character with the largest breasts automatically being treated as the [[HelloNurse most]] [[MsFanservice attractive]] in-universe (regardless of [[YourMileageMayVary who the fans think is really the most attractive]]).

This trope is basically a female character that is at least reasonably attractive, and who is notable - and usually {{lampshaded}} in-universe - for having substantially larger than average breasts among other female contemporaries.

Examples are generally divided across two types, though there is a blurry grey area between them:

* '''Absurd''': Defies/Ignores [[YouFailBiologyForever normal human limitations]], the [[YouFailPhysicsForever laws of physics]], or both, but is not exclusively a sign of [[BoobsOfSteel strength]] or a RunningGag. Its just who the character is, and she is noted in universe for it. Usually occurs when the BiggerIsBetter Hypothesis is taken to its logical extreme, ignoring things like excruciating back pains (exercising the back muscles can only go so far) and, at inhumanly extreme sizes, spinal column injury.

* The breasts shouldn't be simply referenced to in dialogue. They should also be an integral part of the character as well, whether it be one of her defining features, or get glazed over in the narrative (like if a book describes a woman as having large breasts for her mere description).

* BoobsOfSteel: When [[BiggerIsBetter being the strongest and being the bustiest come hand in hand]].

The logical opposite to both {{Pettanko}} and UnluckyBustyGirl (each in different respects), and the DistaffCounterpart to BiggusDickus. While BiggusDickus applies BiggerIsBetter to penis size and quality of sex, respectively, this trope applies it to breast size and {{fanservice}}. [[hottip:* : The seeming disparity is due to each organ's respective primary functions regarding sexual activity. The penis is directly involved in sexual intercourse, whereas the breasts are almost entirely about the TheissTitillationTheory - [[CaptainObvious mammary intercourse notwithstanding]].]]

This trope can be especially conspicuous in period fiction in eras and locales in which large breasts are ''not'' considered particularly attractive.[[hottip:* : Most of time and places in the Western world since at least antiquity have had comparatively small breasts as the ideal.]] In VictorianBritain, for example, large breasts were associated with motherhood and [[GrandeDame age]]. A health book of the period even suggests that refined women should ''nurse puppies'' in order to keep lactating breasts from swelling overmuch.

This trope is not merely OlderThanDirt; it is quite possibly The Oldest One In The Book, given the emphasis on overlarge breasts on the [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venus_of_Hohle_Fels Venus of Hohle Fels]], which is the oldest undisputed example of figurative art.

* In an animated [[BonusMaterial omake]] in {{Naruto}} Sakura interviews Tsunade and asks her the secret to her [[BoobsOfSteel nice body]]. Tsunade proceeds to answer the question only to be interrupted by Naruto, who comments on how [[GagBoobs ridiculously big Tsunade breasts are]] and much better Sakura's [[{{Pettanko}} slender body]]. He promptly gets punch in the face by both Tsunade and [[ComplimentBackfire Sakura]]

* Seems to be the case for a large portion of female bodybuilders, as the intensity of their training leaves them with what most would consider a "masculine" appearance, to the point where they're often mistaken as men, which to be fair is partially due to pretty rampant usage of anabolic steroids [[hottip:*:anabolic steroids having the same priorities as testosterone, male hormones]]. Thus, getting bigger breasts is a way to give them a more "feminine" appearance.

* Seems to be the case for a large portion of female bodybuilders as the intensity of their training leaves them with what most would consider a "masculine" appearance to the point where they're often mistaken as men, which to be fair steroid usage anabolic steroids(anabolic steroids having the same priorities as testosterone, male hormones) is pretty rampant.
