* ''WesternAnimation/MonstersInc'' has the bad date between Celia and Mike. It's played for laughs and implied that it's a blip in an otherwise strong relationship.

* ''Series/SheHulkAttorneyAtLaw'' had Jen Walters only getting one match through the dating app. The guy is a complete weirdo who is paying more attention to his cellphone as Jen talks, even when decides to mention being capable of HulkingOut.

* ''Film/BatmanAndRobin'': This is essentially how the final confrontation between Robin and and Poison Ivy goes. Ivy has spent most of the film [[DatingCatwoman seducing Robin]], tricking him into thinking she loves him and is willing to [[LoveRedeems "turn over a new leaf" just to be with him]] all so she can drive him and Batman apart and kill him with a [[KissOfDeath poisoned kiss]]. She eventually lures him to her lair under the pretense of her love for him and the two meet in the center of her lair. As the two cuddle together on Ivy's throne and flirt with each other, Robin tries to pry information from Ivy to see if she can really be trusted while she continues to try to seduce him and get him to kiss her. Eventually, Robin is able to [[JustBetweenYouAndMe convince Ivy to tell him what she and Freeze have planned together]] and she convinces him to share a quick kiss with her "[[MotivationalKiss for luck]]". Immediately after the passionate kiss though, Ivy reveals her true colors and condemns Robin to death in mock sadness while shooting a victorious smirk at him. Robin however reveals that [[OutGambitted he was actually playing Ivy himself]] and [[CrazyPrepared protected himself with rubber lips until he could find out if she really loved him or not]], and having just failed her SecretTestOfCharacter, Robin smugly rubs this fact in her face. The two of them revealing their lies to each other essentially [[MomentKiller kills the romantic mood between the two "would-be-lovers"]], and Ivy [[DeathGlare shoots a dirty glare at Robin]] for outsmarting her and stealing a kiss from her before lunging at him and shoving him into her lily pond, where the plants attempt to drown him. As she struts away, she turns to Robin as he is struggling and mockingly waves him goodbye while shouting a taunting "See ya!" to him, just to rub it in that she was "breaking up" with him.

* In volume 2 of Jughead in ''ComicBook/ArchieComics2015'', Jughead accidentally agrees to go on a date with Sabrina, having just thought they would be hanging out. Him being canonically asexual (and, though not stated, clearly aromantic), he's...very uncertain about this, though his friends encourage him to try it anyway. It goes bad. Very bad. To the extent that Sabrina gets so frustrated she tries to cast a love spell on him halfway through, only for it to NoSell on Jughead, infecting seemingly everyone else instead. There's plenty of farce about it all, but both Sabrina's genuine hurt and confusion, and Jughead's guilt and worry over how to explain himself, make it a serious affair as well.

** Second there's Batman's encounter with Poison Ivy in her greenhouse, which she [[TheTease playfully]] refers to as a [[CaptiveDate "late night rendezvous."]] It starts with him nearly tumbling into a TrapDoor obscured pit of razor sharp cacti, then ending up in the tight VineTentacles embrace of a [[ManEatingPlant jumbo monster flytrap]] eager to turn him into a midnight snack and finally Ivy coyly slinking to [[MotiveRant crazily monologue]] about why Harvey [[DisproportionateRetribution needed to pay]] before [[ForcefulKiss giving]] Batman a mouthful of the same rose poison she used on Dent to "seal his fate" as well. This is a one-sided example however because Poison Ivy herself was [[IHaveYouNowMyPretty loving]] every second of having Bats in her sensual yet fatal clutches, [[ModestOrgasm moaning passionately]] as she deepened their kiss. Only [[MomentKiller turns sour]] for her when Batman suddenly leaps up to kick her in the face as part of his PlayingPossum gambit to escape the monster plant.

Best friend/third wheel Bruce Wayne laughs, initially thinking it's a gag, before realizing it's for real, Harvey now in a life threatening coma.

* Twilight gets one in the ''Fanfic/HardReset'' series story ''[[http://www.fimfiction.net/story/82419/a-stitch-in-time A Stitch In Time]]'' when she accepts a blind date as petty retaliation after having a row with her current girlfriend, Azalea. The date, Algae Bloom, takes her to a shady bar, repeatedly tries to get her drunk, insults Twilight's intelligence, insults Twilight's current girlfriend, and generally acts like a date rapist. Finally, Twilight has enough, gives her a solid TheReasonYouSuckSpeech, and walks out to reconnect with Azalea. She also informs Cloudkicker ([[EthicalSlut who is promiscuous but has solid dating ethics]]) about the ordeal and asks her to spread the word so Algae Bloom won't prey on anypony else.
