** The CharClone of ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamUnicorn'' goes by the name "[[AccidentalInnuendo Full Frontal]]." Whether it's an alias or not isn't clear, but it seems likely given that he wears a mask. WordOfGod says it's supposed to refer to his [[AttackAttackAttack aggressive, in-your-face fighting style]] (as in "full frontal assault"), [[NeverLiveItDown but that hasn't stopped the jokes]].

* ''TabletopGame/{{Aberrant}}'', being a deconstruction of superheroics, touches on this: the rise of superpowered Novas, many of whom think they're now required to don costumes and take up aliases, have spawned a budding fashion industry dedicated to not only making non-stupid costumes but also to come up with fitting and stylish names a Nova can use without feeling silly or raise UnfortunateImplications. A few sucky names still crop up, though.

** John Walker, ''a.k.a.'' "Super-Patriot". He recruited a team of super-strong allies called the Bold Urban Commandos, also known as the "Buckies" after Cap's sidekick [[Characters/MarvelComicsBuckyBarnes Bucky Barnes]]. When Walker replaced Steve Rogers as Captain America, the Buckies' leader Lemar Hoskins became the new Bucky. Only problem was that Hoskins was Black, and "buck" was an old 19th-century term for [[UnfortunateImplications a male slave]]. They eventually realized this both out- and InUniverse; when Hoskins is informed of this, he changed his name to Battlestar and got promoted from Walker's sidekick to partner.

* ''Webcomic/DungeonsAndDoodlesTalesFromTheTables'': In her backstory, Angela forgot to come up with a fake name before disguising herself aboard a pirate ship, and ended up improvising one when questioned by the ship's captain. She called "himself" [[spoiler:"[[VideoGame/MonkeyIsland Guybrush Threepwood!]] Mighty pirate!"

** Izuku toes the line here when he decides his hero name should be 'Deku', which was Bakugou's insulting childhood nickname for him. He meant to make it an AppropriatedAppellation, but he still gets some double-takes when he introduces himself with a name that doubles as a mild insult (roughly, 'useless'), though thankfully not one involving ToiletHumour.

** Several members of the Hero Association are saddled with named they don't particularly like, in part because the press essentially gives them based on their impressions of the heroes. Saitama gets "Caped Baldy", which goes right up against his BerserkButton, but other heroes have even worse names like "Great Degenerate" or "Dr. Grumpy Pervert". It leads to [[spoiler:the formation of a formal support group called the "Hero Name Victim Association"]].

*** Characters/{{Deadpool|WadeWilson}}, who cannot resist snarking about ''everything'', naturally couldn't resist the temptation.

** ''ComicBook/NewWarriors'' has Night Thrasher, which Spidey thinks makes him sound like he has terrible nightmares. In one issue, Spidey teams up with Thrasher and Characters/{{The Punisher|FrankCastle}}, both DarkerAndEdgier heroes, and doesn't get along with either of them; he grumbles about being lectured by "one guy who sounds like he has naughty dreams and another guy who sounds like he likes to spank people."

** Even Spider-Man himself is not immune, especially his nickname "Spidey". Peter Parker doesn't mind it too much, but in some continuities it wasn't really his first choice. His ''ComicBook/UltimateMarvel'' universe counterpart [[Characters/UltimateSpiderManMilesMorales Miles Morales]], meanwhile, does not like "Spidey" at all.

** [[Characters/XMen90sMembers Jubilee]]'s full name is Jubilation Lee. Although her name is actually pretty cool, she considers her real name to be this and prefers to be called by her shortened name.

* ''WesternAnimation/TheVentureBrothers'':

* The Golden Age hero "The Whizzer", so named because of the sound he makes while running, but combine that with a lemon yellow costume and... [[ToiletHumor well]]. His villainous counterpart eventually changed up to the more intimidating "Speed Demon", and modern versions go with names like Blur. His ''ComicBook/SquadronSupreme'' counterpart sticks with it, and apparently it was his ''second'' choice. His wife sensibly got him to reconsider.

* In ''Film/{{Deadpool|2016}}'', Wade Wilson utterly mocks Francis Freeman's alias, Ajax, saying he got it from the dish soap. Wade tried to call himself "[[TheCaptain Captain]] Deadpool" while brainstorming an alias. Weasel just stares at him blankly and convinces him to switch to just "Deadpool".

* ''Manga/OnePiece'': Upon putting on his [[ClothesMakeTheSuperman Raid Suit]] Sanji chooses to call himself "Soba Mask" (due to his cover identity as a noodle chef in Wano) instead the proposed cooler-sounding name "Stealth Black", to everyone else's dismay. [[spoiler:Sanji hates the name Stealth Black because of its associations with Germa 66, a background that he is ashamed of.]]

* In ''ComicBook/UnstoppableDoomPatrol'', Robotman and Green Lantern Guy Gardner aren't imressed when a metahuman resulting from a Starro probe merging with its human host chooses to call himself "[=StarBro=]".

* Several of the {{Portmanteau}} hero names used in the ComicBook/AmalgamUniverse are just plain ridiculous. Among the more egregious examples are "Mandarinestro", "Shatterstarfire" and "Dr. Bongface."

* A famous anecdote about Wrestling/StoneColdSteveAustin recalls how, in his early days of Wrestling/{{WW|E}}F, he wanted to change his nickname to go with his cold and uncaring character and asked the creative team to come up with a name. They sent him five pages of names. While most were pretty good, like the Ice Dagger, there was an infamously ridiculous one called ''Chilly [=McFreeze=]''. He chose Stone Cold and the rest is history. He jokingly stated in one interview that if they turned down Stone Cold, that he would be the best Baron Von Ruthless he could have been.
